A lion was on the loose in Kabd earlier today. The video above went viral quickly and so did the authorities when it came to capturing it. According to KUNA, the security police along with the environment police managed to capture the lion and take it to the zoo. They believe the lion escaped from his owner who had kept him as a pet.
Surprisingly according to the news article, the maximum penalty for owning a lion is three years in jail or just KD50 fine. [Link]

The article is definitely wrong, it is not 50 (fifty) KD.
This is a breach Article 101 of the Environmental Protection Law which forbids the trading on any Animal listed under the CITES Convention. According to Article 151 violation of Article 101 can result in a 1-3 year prison time and 5,000 to 50,000 KD.

No, he doesn’t have a point but let’s play along for a second. What do you want me to post about? I clearly can’t post about new restaurants, places or events taking place because you consider that advertising/promotion, so what do you want to read about?
They do have a point, Mark. Just check your previous posts form 2-3 years back and you will see what they mean. There was so much variety and you even posted much more content and more often.
Nobody so far has given any example of what kind of content I used to post that I don’t post anymore so you can’t say they have a point. So no, I don’t know what you mean by if I check posts from 2 to 3 years ago I know what you mean. How about you give me examples?

In regards to the amount of content I post, For the past 10 years or so I’ve been posting 2-3 posts a day and I’ve continued to do so up to this day. Thats always the target. But I also have a life, some days I don’t want to post, so what? When I’m on vacation I don’t want to post, when it’s a weekend I don’t want to post, when it’s a holiday I don’t want to post. Just like when you go on vacation you don’t work, I have the same right as well. So just because I didn’t post last week cuz of the Eid holidays or because I was on vacation the week before, doesn’t mean I don’t post as much. It just means I’m on vacation just like you were.
I understand it might be frustrating to come in here and not find content you like or content when I’m on vacation, but jeez you guys make it sound like I’m charging you to read my blog and are demanding a refund.
This blog has always been a personal blog and I’ve always posted what I’ve wanted, when I’ve wanted to and at the pace I’ve wanted. This isn’t going to change suddenly 14 years later.
There will always be slow news days, and there will be some really great days with a lot of stuff to post. Thats life.
Mark I loved your website because you used to talk about all the new projects and laws that were happening here. You wrote about things the newspapers didn’t know about because of your friends who were in every ministry & firm (atleast that’s how it felt). I’m fine with the way your website is now, I think people remember when it was “everything Kuwait” which has sorta died down. Your still the best blog that I know (in Kuwait atleast).
Yeah but if there are no new interesting projects or no new interesting laws then i can’t post about them. I gave you guys the first look of Avenues Phase 4, first peek at the Jazeera terminal (Before anybody else), first peek of T4 (Before anybody else) and a behind the scenes look at the construction of T2… Not sure what else you guys want. I can only post about real things I can’t make projects or news up… Summer is slow, nothing happens so just deal with it. Like I mentioned above, just in the past 20 posts I’ve covered:

It is really something to read comments from people that think they are entitled!!! This is a personal Blog, just to stress that its PERSONAL. You dont have a subscription to, thus you dont have the right to question the content. Everything is about choice, you have the choice to read or skip and if you do read at least acknowledge the efforts to keep something running for 14 years, say thanks and move on.
Such a shame, I blame the education and information ministries for not educating people well enough on how to be basic human beings. Zoos should be banned, the only “zoo” I’d be ok with are large wide open spaces like London or a safari or even Singapore. Animals deserve to roam in large areas, imagine being in a tiny imhumane cage and having people stare and laugh at you. Animals have emotions and people should be educated, people get that “animals don’t have brains” crap, it’s disgusting.

Good thing it was caught by the authorities in a safe humane way. It would be very sad and heartbreaking if they were forced to shoot it down a magnificent animal senselessly due to an idiot of an owner not knowing what a definition of a pet is.
Speaking of idiotic owners of wild animals….isn’t there a family out here in Kuwait that keep Bengal Tigers as pets and also another one that has a Cheetah?? They are all over Social media and Instagram ;How come the authorities haven’t cracked down on them ??
