Kuwaiti Influencer Responds to the Critics

Just when you think this whole situation with Sondos couldn’t get any worse, well guess what.. it does!

With all the backlash she has been getting in regards to her racist comments on domestic workers, you’d think she would issue an apology. But, instead of apologizing she published another video this time talking about how employers of domestic workers deserve rights.

The video starts of with her talking about how her story has hit the news and how she hopes the local authorities will take action on this and provide employers of domestic workers with rights. After rambling for a minute or so on how she wants rights, she ends the video by stating the subject is now closed and that there are more important matters in life, like the fact that she’s thinking of getting botox. I swear I’m not making this up!! Check out her video above.

Clearly she doesnt care about the backlash, and it seems like she’s trying to provoke the situation further. And she has the nerve to end the video with the botox comment too!

Okay everybody, we need to calm down. She is right, her face and getting botox is far more important than the fact that she believes in slavery.

But in all seriousness, a simple apology would’ve done it. She just made it 10x worse.
This just shows how rotten spoilt some people are. Take Abodka as an example, rather than apologizing (let’s be real, that video was a joke and not a proper apology), he dissed Kuwaitis. What even..?!!!

These stubborn ass influencers are giving Kuwaitis the reputation of being inhumane individuals who cannot own up to their mistakes. The fact that she cannot see how terrible she sounds is rediculous.

Anyway, let’s hope that this is a wake up call for Kuwait. Maybe those who (hopefully) USED to agree with her, now see the reality domestic workers go through.

She’s posted an ‘explanation’ on her IG account. Firstly, she’s still incorrect about whatever she’s trying to justify. And if her intention is to clarify, why not open up the comments and check the response? Too chicken to do that, and continuing to rant about her nonsense beliefs.

I’m sure she’s getting a lot of hate, bullying and threats so obviously she’s gonna be too scared to open the comments. Hell some days I don’t want to open or see the comments here on my blog and I’m sure she’s in a much worse position because of the things she’s been saying.

Why do people shoot these videos in their cars? I mean if you’re in a car, you probably have to go somewhere, right? So go there and film!

So actors, producers and directors who have been making movies; CEOs of successful businesses, government politicians who served for many years are losing their jobs over a tweet. The nerve on this lady who made it through Instagram, which not to be little her success, doesn’t understand that the money she makes is due to the fact that companies work with her due to how many people like her? Or is that how it is nowaways, 2 million people follow you and you suddenly become God. She has points in this video, there should be equal rights for all, but nonetheless, I’ve seen people treat their pets better than they treat the people raising their kids, cleaning their homes and cooking their food. It honestly surprises me. The problem is that we forgot our humble roots, when Kuwait didn’t even have money to print money and so they used the Indian rupee.

I feel sorry for her. She’s gonna lose a lot of support from major companies.

Hopefully!

I reported her Instagram. I hope enough of us report her stupid IG account, and some action is taken. Honestly, I doubt her Cosmetics sponsors would give two shits about the video, unless of course some major news channel picks up the article.

Shes maybe an influecer in kuwait not outside kuwait so shes basically irrelevant on the global scale of things. Shes a moron who clearly displays her intelligence which is equal to a Nat

Nope, she works with International brands and has been on press trips outside Kuwait. Etude House put up a statement on their Instagram Stories yesterday about how her statements do not reflect the views of the company so its great that brands are beginning to notice. Maybe they’ll be more selective in the futute about which influencers represent them. It’s just sad thiugh, the way she feels like she’s justified.

She may be a dumb idiot, but threatening violence, even as a joke, does not make you look any better.

also botox paralyzes muscles to decrease the effects of aging; fillers is what’s used to inflate lips, cheeks, etc.

She just proved how shallow her thinking is..asking for her rights as a sponsor (Kafeel) and having no idea that the Kafala System (Sponsorship) is the main issue here..

This woman is an exemplar to share with friends back home about my two-year stint teaching in Kuwait.

Thanks to Mark for the highlights.

The fact that she was divorced THREE times should tell you a lot! Maybe next time she should talk about makeup period!

The problem is she is a sample of the Kuwaiti way of thinking. Despite the global outrage, I would bet most of the people here nodded in agreement. So as long as that is the case, nothing will happen to her or the people who agree with her..or the sponsors I guess.

Yea no one cars at all. Evident by the number of comments the posts about her are receiving.
Anyway you really shouldn’t bother yourself with stupid posts like this one, there are more important things in life after all .. Like, aren’t you craving some coffee?

Seriously, YOU don’t care. Please don’t speak for the rest of us. Obviously plenty of people care, enough for her to make it on CNN. Thanks!

You guys should rather feel pity for her. She is living a plastics life. They haven’t been given an oppurutnity by God to feel the true life of a human on earth. They are blocked from everything using their money which they got from natural resources rather than hardwork. Pray that they may live like humans some day. They refers to people like her and her supporters.

People calm down.. there are public morons in every country and nobody ever said they represent their entire population. She represents herself and a few morons like her

That said, I’m amazed she doubled down on her original post. I also note that she is not very well spoken and can’t string a proper sentence together so I’m sure she didn’t express herself properly

there are alot of things being said, in this post and the one previous, the bottom line i believe is that this ideology can and should not be tolerated, it will not be tolerated, however it must definitely not be ignored. the rationale must not be accepted. we can build a new physical Kuwait, with fancy buildings and venues however we can not ignore the imoprtance of addressing the cultural identity and mentality of the population. otherwise why build a new kuwait when the population is much more in dire need of addressment.

So guys you learn from this video is that she is the kind of B””cH you need to stay away from.

Wow, this website is still on, yet there are people who follows it 😀
what a surprise of the century 😀

I think her last comment is sarcastic, Mark.

Let me rephrase that, I FUCKING HOPE that her last comment was sarcastic.

I couldn’t stop laughing when I heard some one say she is a star?
what star.Remove her make up and see what she looks like.
Instagram star , that’s all people like her can. Sondos, you look around in the third world countries and see the beauty of women. learn from them. God knows what beauty lies in you. Pity the people who get statisfied with just below average person like her. Stop promoting her.

If THIS is the type of Kuwaiti woman who is considered a good role model to follow, and a representative of the caliber of ladies here, no wonder Kuwaiti men like to marry non-Kuwaitis! No wonder there is such a high divorce rate!

Also, How can this bit+# dare to wear a hijab when there is nothing religious about how she acts or thinks with selfishness and disrespect towards others?! The Quran talks about empathy, caring for the less fortunate, and even the need for time off

Since followers can be bought as one of the ads on your page clearly states , why couldn’t she have bought most of the 2 million people that she boasts to be following her .

What do you expect from someone who spends her days coloring her face?! Shameful and pitiful breed of humans that transcends nationality.

Note to others, Botox can cause permanent brain damage, so can also being born in a country who spoils you.

WE did not. a bunch of horny men who look at her for nothing else but material, and misguided girls who believe she has any value, and a community that ignored the rapid rise of social media persons who would have a huge effect on the youth yet no regulatoins to keep them in line for public benefit.

Looool she tried to say that all workers need to be treated equally and that Philippines shouldnt be treated differently from Indians and other racists: however, that just opens up a whole other can of worms. In Kuwait, your nationality plays a huge role on what rights you have and how much your salary is. A Philipino maid gets paid more than an Indian maid. Leave that aside…
Let’s say you have two people of the same qualifications, there salary will still be different based on their nationality. A huge difference in salary like double and even trip the amount. There is a ridiculously distribution of salary based mainly on a national hierarchy.

“A Philipino maid gets paid more than an Indian maid. ” Thats because the number of Indian maids have dropped significantly over the last 20 years. Indian labour in Kuwait has drastically reduced due to India’s status as an economic powerhouse. Now most labour in Kuwait is Sri Lankan, Bangladeshi, Filipino and Ethiopian.

Its due to their government agreeing with ours on the minimum wage.
Having same qualifications doesn’t mean you get the same wage everywhere being of the same nationality or not.

There is Lidia (Al Qattan)-the lady on the one hand and then there’s Sondos (Al Qattan)- the tramp.
She is bringing the house down giving a bad name to the House of Qattans even though Lidia and Sondos may have as little in common as chalk and cheese and are likely, not related to one another.

Unfortunately, she is a bi-product of a generation of many GCC nationals who have been raised within the confines of the kafala system, or modern day slavery. When you have a system that is designed to ‘enslave’ and control, it shouldn’t be a surprise when you see prejudiced, sectarian, self entitled bigots like her getting upset at any kind of change. People like her are no different to the south african white supremacists who objected the end of apartheid, just dressed differently and speaks a different language. The sad bit is: This kafala system has created an innate culture of “its mine, You cant have it” within many countries in the GCC- Kuwait and KSA being the worst cases, and although there are many nationals who dont publicly air it and talk about it out of fear of looking non-progressive , we all know they feel it, want it and desire it in order to preserve their nationalistic ethnocentrism. Oh and lets have some context for a moment: These “influencers” or “celebrities” have always existed here, just that we are able to identify and call them out “now” because of social media.

gcc and most asian countries except the kafala system while flawed, still should fromally protect employees and employer, unlike some asian countries where there is no system at all to protect your rights . the gcc is just an easy target.

“some” asian countries dont lure you on the pretext of a better life with tax free living but then screw you in the ass when you’re there . Plus most asian countried afford freedoms of speech, self expression and democracy in its true value, unlike the GCC, so its not really an easy target. Rather, some asian expats countries are an easy target for the kafala system.

Remember What John Lennon said!
“A Working Class Hero is Something to Be”
instagram star my ass. instagram fools!

Still cant laugh they gave her a title star. Even a porn star has much more dignity that this cheap skunk wrapped in a cloth with devil inside.

She released another video after this saying that everyone is out to get her cause shes muslim and wears a hijab. She still doesnt see that what she said was wrong.

some media outlets will use that. there are certain aspects of asian culture that they use to their will when they want to slam a certain country. HOWEVER she can go to hell, nobody is out to get her because of her hijab, when you say something unmeasured and then assume you have to power to close the topic, and you believe your boxtox is more important, i hope you have a long painful lesson and that you eventually come out a more awakened individual. you useless social media person, for the lack of a better word.

She posted an “apology” on her instagram but it’s actually just her saying why she’s right and we’re wrong

I may be wrong but I think this ‘influencer’ is suffering from princess syndrome, a phenomenon that was observed in men and women during the rise in economic activity and disposable incomes of the four Asian tigers, Singapore, Hong Kong, Taiwan & South Korea in the 1950’s and 1960’s.

Btw, I am a non-muslim, having lived in Kuwait for 5 years and some of my best friends are Muslim, so I can definitely say, it is not because of religion she acts this way. My neighbour used to give me free daalchal every friday afternoon. Sometimes it was ok tasty, other time it was not good for stomach. I used to call him beebz
