Gravity was finally released in Kuwait on the 17th of October, but for some odd reason it wasn’t released in IMAX (instead they chose to show some Metallica documentary in IMAX, how are they even still relevant?). Gravity can be seen in the majority of theaters in Kuwait and I highly recommend to watch it in 3D since I haven’t seen any movie make use of 3D as well as Gravity has.
Gravity has a beautifully simple premise. Two astronauts have to fight for survival after a catastrophe strikes their space shuttle mission. Alfonso Cuarón directs this brilliant movie and does a spectacular job at creating one of the most realistic space movies and possibly the best space movie ever made.
Now the problem with watching Gravity in Kuwait (besides it not being in IMAX) is the fact that two scenes were censored. One scene was briefly cut due to dialogue (which wasn’t important to the narrative) and the other scene that was cut was at the very end, the last scene to be exact. The movie was already done and the story resolved by the time that scene came about but it was still an annoyance. Would I still have watched the movie knowing about these two details? Yes. Definitely.
If you enjoy a good movie experience then you should definitely not miss this even though there are two scenes cut. Watching this movie at home wouldn’t do it any justice.

Any idea y was the last scene cut?..i was expecting some independence day rescue scenes with lot of coppers,flags etc but i guess it wouldn’t blend with the movie.

Saw the film last night, does Sandra Bullock go full nude? It was cut so awkwardly at the end.
The last scene in the end is the absolute most important scene of the film. It completes the metaphor and the whole point of the film is to see this scene, I can’t for the life of me understand why they cut it, there is NOTHING to cut. anyway, for those who watched it here, you can watch the ending on youtube if you search for “gravity ending” just to get an idea, but its not the same as experiencing it during the film with the right build up for it.
I tried searching ‘gravity ending’ over YouTube couldn’t find, what I saw its ending spoiler the same I saw in cinema as Ryan swim and reach the shore that’s it…Is there something more can you paste the youtube link here..

I just read an article where the director explains the symbolism of the end, thereby giving it away:
‘She’s in these murky waters almost like an amniotic fluid or a primordial soup. In which you see amphibians swimming. She crawls out of the water, not unlike early creatures in evolution. And then she goes on all fours. And after going on all fours she’s a bit curved until she is completely erect. It was the evolution of life in one, quick shot.’

I live in Melbourne and watched Gravity today and have to say that it was an incredible movie and Sandra Bullock plays the part very well. The ending was her having reached earth and most probably it was cut as she was not fully clothed (Not nude).

The Camera goes from her toes and all the way to her face. Im assuming they cut the part where it shows Sandra wearing the tight spandex.

Reminds me of underworld awakening how the last seen was cut. and all of a sudden giant wolf is dead and they are going back. i was wondering like how the wolf died and had to wait for the DVD to be released. really stupid.

You can see her shoulders. And you get a view of her arse in tight shorts. Those parts of your anatomy do not exist in Kuwait.

Just saw the movie today in IMAX 3D in 360 mall. They cut the ending so abruptly that I was like WTF?
I don’t see a reasonable explanation as to why they had to cut the ending like that. Great movie though. It’s on my top space movies list BEHIND 2011 Space Odyssey 🙂
they actually ruined the film with the cut at the end. the last scene was meant to show how she evolved as a human being. and there was nothing to cut! we saw her half of the movie half naked, why cut the very end? it’s like they are intentionally ruining the film.

i watched it couple days ago, and for some reason was irritated with Sandra’s performance: breathing heavily with poor acting.
wouldn’t recommend watching it unless you’ve nothing else to do!
