Michel Dines in Hell

A friend of a friend of mine came up with a cool idea for Halloween, he wanted to dress up as spartan since he’s a huge fan of the movie 300. He had 65 days till Halloween and he was overweight and unfit. So he decided he would go on a strict diet, exercise his ass off and document his journey on a blog. There is now 11 days left till Halloween and as you can see from the picture above he has practically achieved his goal. I think that is just amazing. When you see the before and after pictures in magazines you don’t think much of it but this guy is real and managed to achieve all that in just 50 days. Check out his blog [Here]

This personally gave me the push I needed to start doing cardio. Starting tomorrow morning I am going to start running every morning!

Good job Michel, that’s a noticeable change! Although Spartans didn’t shave their chests (not the straight ones anyway). πŸ™‚

Dude that guy is already a bodybuilder who went fat, his body is full of muscles since day 1 (mind the fat). I mean just look at him at week 3 when he lost his belly fat, he already have fully defined ABS! LOL!

hey! thanks guys for the kind words. Well Spartans in Frank Miller’s head did shave their chests … I ve seen the movie fully about 56 times, i wanna try to be as faithful to the character as possible.

yes i definitely was a bodybuilder (you can read about it in the 1st post), but have been sittin on my bum stuffing my face for 2 years! πŸ™‚
I love the sport and am thinking of starting again after the challenge. seriously, it s been 53 days of HELL! Spartan in the movie did it in 4 months.

no .. no pills were involved. protein shakes and multivitamins as not to faint after a couple of days.

by the way, i start off the day with HAOUUU! I leave “this is Sparta” for the special crazy days. πŸ˜‰

wow! 65 days and that stomach flap is gone!!! i have been dieting and exercising and no drastic changes like this guy

maybe because he is a male? men tend to lose weight easier… hmph

thanks! about the shaved chest … it felt weird at first but i actually like it now πŸ™‚

Gerard: I’ve been banging my head on the wall since yesterday. Fahad has been telling me to run since day 1 and I was like running is for girls. Turns out i NEED to run so that my abs show! urghh!!

lol! me too! i feel it s boring. but i guess it grew on michel too, but he s got a dog to spice up the running.

it s all about having the right playlist as i got from what he s saying. there is lots of insight in his posts.

nikeplus all the way is the answer for us. competing with other people and tracking our progress. i got the lunarglides he was talking about. they’re relaxing as hell. Got the chip with it too. it connected on my iphone directly . all i have to do is calibrate it on the treadmill and off I go! πŸ™‚

can’t wait till tonight.

Gerard K, its not about having fun while you jog or train, Michel had karly true, but he would have still done it if he was in a 4×4 prison cell. he trained till his feet had blisters, and he didnt even care about the running shoes or the whole attire, some days it was with his red Crocs, So if you want to feel motivated, keep thinking of the end result, rather than the partner or the means to do it, because then u’d start having choices like, should i run by the beach? or should i wait for x to join me? , some days it might be raining, others your partner might be ill.. you do what you need too, none stop.
Mark, run. Run, like there’s no tomorrow, and boost up your protein intake, but dont stop Cardio, and if you thought Running was for chicks, what do you call a 20 min workout at the gym? increase it to 40 + 25 min Cardio. Trust me. For those of you who think i am preaching, Michel and Mark know πŸ™‚

I read till POST 12 yesterday evening. pretty addictive πŸ™‚

i might as well be a couch potatoe for halloween, its good to take some time off the gym, cardio gets really boring sometimes especially in kuwait :S dont worry i’ll be back on track soon my friend πŸ˜€

The first thing people think of when you say cardio is either running or aerobics.

Cyc is right, you don’t have to run to do cardio, any other activity that keeps you sweating and your heart pumping should be considered as cardio.

I personally like cycling, hiking and rock climbing. But there are tons of other activities that are fun too, Squash, football, swimming, basketball….etc.

I have also recently started working to a healthier, bigger better body but havent been consistent… You are truly an inspiration to us all and I know with just a few more days to you, you will meet your goal…

As for the chest, shaved chest is the way to go! Gives more definition to the muscles πŸ™‚

Congrats! I’m planning on tying P90X myself once i get back from my Leb Trip. Already got the whole thing, except for the equipment.. Already tried there Abs and Plyometrics for kicks, not so hard i must say. However what r you planning to do to keep the look? You’re going to continue doing P90X? Maintaining has got to be the hardest part..
