Noodle House out, Moti Mahal in

They shut down The Noodle House on the Gulf Road at the start of Ramadan. I thought they were going to renovate but yesterday they put up the hoarding above saying the Moti Mahal Indian restaurant was coming soon. I hadn’t heard of the restaurant before but since there is already a Moti Mahal open in the UAE, I’m guessing we’re getting the same one. [Link]

Yeah this will be the third. Originally it was all Johnny Carinos but they cut Johnny in half and opened up a steak house, then Noodle House and now Moti Mahal. I think Johnny Carinos is doing fine its just this half of the location thats jinxed.

Oh my goodness! My husband and I were just talking about Big Al’s Steakhouse today (they told us before that they were just relocating it…) and then a friend who was in Kuwait a few years ago commented on fb today about missing Big Al’s! I miss that steakhouse!

There already is one in Olympia, it’s been there for a while now. If it’s still there, then the one on Gulf Road was probably shut down for health reasons.

Noodle House wasn’t doing that great I think. It started out pretty good but last time I visited the food quality got really bad so I’m not too surprised.

ashas food is terrible….it is sooo westernised …..spoils the flavour of indian foood…..i’ve tried moti mahal in london and delhi and it rocks!!!!!!cant wait….and i also heard and indian actress katrina kaif is also coming for the opening….

Anyone should be able to beat Asha’s hands down in terms of food quality. Moti Mahal used to be a famed diner in Mumbai’s Nariman Point area but now is just a has been.
Hope the Kuwait branch will be different!

Thank god its gone. Was one if the worst restaurants on kuwait.
Over prices, really badly executrd, foo made me throw up

Hope to God they won’t come up with a tacky hoarding. As most South East Asian restaurants in Kuwait go, we’ve seen enough of that happening with Moghul Mahal painting the whole town an ugly yellow and that huge billboard on Souk Watya, in town screaming Third World glam sham.
Besides, for an Indian restaurant to have a presence in London is bit of a put off for those that know their desi food and how. Some of the worst Indian food you can get is right here in London and I mention (in no particular order) the Zaika on Kensington High Street, Chutney Mary’s on King’s road and Veeraswamy’s at Piccadilly. Incredulously, all of the above are either Zagat or Michelin rated. I have today lost complete faith in these rating agencies, for Indian diners at least.
Sincerely hope Moti Mahal Kuwait will be no avatar of its London cousin.

Dude if you don’t like Indian food or their hoardings just avoid going there in the first place. Why make derogatory remarks ?

Yo! spikz: I am about as Indian as a Pakistani and Bangladeshi put together 🙂

You chill now! Well, of course, I enjoy Indian food: the vegetarian kind more than the carnivorous kind.

On derogatory, I will have you know derogatory like beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Like you posit it’s a free world out there- we are free to choose where we go out to eat and by that token, we are all entitled to an opinion no matter what.
Peace,
MEI
PS. I wish Moti Mahal all the luck they can get in turning a corner around the jinx.

I’ve tried Moti mahal in Abu dhabi and it suck’s! Not certain if its the same branch.

Seriously guy’s Asha’s Rocks in Kuwait and the erst of teh ME.
@Donkey&Escada- I’ve always made it a point to ask for the authentic deal and I’ve never been dissapointed there, Marina crescent branch remains an all time favourite !
