So yesterday I posted about how you could 3D print yourself at the new Best Electronics store in Boulevard. Well, I spoke too soon since you can’t anymore.
From what I’ve managed to understand, due to religious reasons Best have been told to stop the 3D printing. I thought it might have been fake news at first but last night I passed by the store from outside and noticed they had removed all the 3D printed figurines from the display. Oh well…

the fun police strike again!
Sad, really sad that in our time we get to witness this.
Oh my goodness! Too many restrictions in this country!
So are they going to ban Barbie and GI Joe and stuffed teddy bears? What about those little camel statues sold in souvenir shops.
There is something really wrong here, and its not that a few idiots got upset about this, its that the government capitulated to them, despite the protest of the majority. This will NOT end well.
This is most absurd thing i’ve ever heard of!!!!!!
It’s so sad yet so funny.
In Arabic
مضحك مبكي
something funny and makes me cry of sadness at the same time
God, if they hope their “new city” will succeed they better keep extremists out.
The existence of these idols is absolutely outrageous and unacceptable. The worship of inanimate physical idols in 2018 MUST END!
This is welcome news, and I applaud this wise decision to eradicate all forms of idolatry and representations. I would also humbly suggest that our leaders, with immediate effect, start banning Barbies (Fulla included), action figures of all kinds, toys in general, and photography and video mediums of all sorts. I also implore authorities to start banning the materials which can produce these idols: clay, playdough, and all dough in general for that matter, for it can easily be molded to form depictions which are basically one-way tickets to hell. While we are at it, I believe we should also seriously reconsider our currency, which is totally loaded with unnecessary depictions. Someone needs to take action. The sooner the better I say.
I concur sir, but I say your measures have NOT gone far enough! We also have to seriously think about banning cement and concrete as they can be used to build models and statues and other forms of idolatry as you say. Sand by the sea shore must also be banned and must not be touched, for fear of idolizing sand castles, you never can know can you…. I hear that flour and salt can be used to create a medium that can harden and be used to form something that can mistakenly be worshiped, we must look into that, we must be vigilant!
Photos are also frowned upon (by some scholars) so we should ban all cameras and camera phones. Oh yeah and fuck freedom, common sense and any sort of logic. You vote for these idiots and then complain. I hold everyone accountable for either choosing wrong or not voting.
Actually it’s the people like me, that DO NOT vote, that are the reason these beardos are in power. If more people voted, we probably would not be seeing this. People like me are to blame, we should get to voting
Nicely put! 😀
I will also send a strong worded letter requesting all websites, apps and tv channels to be banned from the internet as they corrupt our minds. I will request that only the only website we can access is pornhub… for educational purposes ofcourse. Also all sex dolls have their heads chopped off before they can be sold, this is to keep our people clean. Who is with me!?!
While i somewhat support your cause, you have been mistaken, even headless statues/human figures can be worshiped as idols, the whole being must be obliterated so no chance of “shurk” is ever reached. Come to think of it, all vertical objects must be destroyed, just in case God forbid we might start worshiping the Shawarma Pillar of Khan jabriya block 2 samboosa store
lol maybe this is to prevent all the ‘influencers’ printing themselves and then selling those prints on for profit
No had any authority to close it down. From what I know, Best closed it down willingly because of the social media backlash
a lesson that using fashionistas for advertising isn’t always the best approach.
They should stop and remove all photos from every where bcoz it sits under the same category in the religion
I think whoever dislike this decision should live somewhere other than kuwait.
This is a decision that came from the muslim society.
I dont see you arrogants complain about countries banning hijab or niqab or even about human rights violations in kuwait, so please respect or go live on those hijab banning countries
I agree, and do you agree that those Hijab wearing people, should also leave the hijab banning countries, and go back to theirs?
You should leave. retarded people like you will only stop this place from ever advancing and probably be the downfall of this country. If you prefer it to be like saudi, just go and live there. even saudi is advancing much further than kuwait is at this point. im furious
Good news! The Ministry of Commerce says the law does not ban these 3D creations, and the religious nuts can move on to their next target. I’m going to get one of myself ASAP!!
Here’s the CEO of Best Al-Yousifi
