A few cool things taking place this weekend, firstly the Kuwait International Jiu-Jitsu Open is taking place this whole weekend and they’ve taken over and converted the ice skating rink for the event. You also have the Tania Saleh Concert taking place tonight at Al Shaheed Park, The British Ladies Society Winter Bazaar tomorrow and the Gulf Bank 642 Marathon on Saturday. What a ridiculously packed weekend with a ton of things going on. Personally I’ll be popping in out of the Nuqat event this weekend. I also passed by the Weaving Stories exhibition a few days back and I thought that was cool, mostly because I somehow ended up spending an hour there weaving without realizing an hour had gone by. If you missed the fireworks show this past Saturday, you can now watch it online. [Vimeo]

If you haven’t already registered for Nuqat this year then you should hurry up and do so. It’s one of the largest creative events in the region and it’s free to attend. Nuqat includes interactive talks, discussion panels, roundtable sessions, workshops, cultural tours, galleries, live performances and more. There are two ways to register, the first is to download the Nuqat app and registering through that, the second option is by signing up online using this [Link]

For those of you who’ve never attended a Nuqat conference before and not sure what to expect, below are two flashback videos, first one from the 2014 Nuqat conference and the second from last years. It’s a fun and very chill event, you can attend as many talks as you want or just hangout in the open courtyard socializing with friends. You could have burgers all day or take part in a workshop, it’s really up to you and thats one of the things I love about the event. So check out the videos below and then sign up for the event.

Just a reminder, the fireworks show for the Jaber Al Ahmad Cultural Centre opening is taking place tonight at 7:30PM. For more information click [Here]

The Battle Fitness Festival takes place this weekend and in addition to Crossfit they’ve added a 5K obstacle course this year. The Battle Fitness Festival is one of the most recognized and respected crossfit events in the Middle East and over 200 athletes will be taking part this year. It’s really a world class event bringing in competitors from around the world and creating a fantastic show for everyone in Kuwait to take part in and to watch. A friend is hosting a huge outdoor Zumba event this coming Tuesday. She holds a Zumba event every year and this year she’s bringing Ecem Kuntay and Didem Zeybek (pictured above) as her special guests. If you’re interested in taking part then click [Here] for more details.

I just found out that the Kuwait Open 9-Ball Championship is currently taking place. I’m not a big fan of pool but this looks like a legit setup, no idea why it wasn’t advertised properly. The video above is from the opening day which was October 24th and its a 10 day tournament so its ongoing until November 5th.

The Kuwait Open 9-Ball Championship is sanctioned by the World Pool-Billiard Association (WPA) and has the highest prize money and highest ranking points. The total prize money amounts to $275,000.

Nuqat is one of the largest creative conference events in the MENA region and registration is now open for their seventh annual conference titled “The Seventh Sense”. The week long program will take place at the Amricani Cultural Centre from the 10th to the 17th of November and include interactive talks, discussion panels, roundtable sessions, workshops, cultural tours, galleries, live performances and more.

All lectures and discussion panels are free to attend but you still need to register for a ticket [Here] or using the Nuqat app.
