I haven’t been to the animal market next to the Friday market since 2013 but it doesn’t look like anything has changed. Someone recently found the area where the shops were disposing of sick or unwanted pets and it looks horrible. According to the person who posted all the pictures on Facebook, they found 16 cats alive and some kittens sitting on top of their dead mothers corps. It’s depressing how this issue with the animal market is never going to be fixed. Check out the post with more photos [Here]

Fridays market needs to be shutdown, this is cruel and the environmental police needs to do something as dead animals can be infectious and animals rights group needs to wake up in Kuwait to stop this cruelty.
The animal black-market should be regulated with licenses facilities for treatment and education, in addition to an awareness campaign on animal cruelty etc.. however the Friday market is a something else Co. Please and isn’t related to animals.

Let’s formally contact the government through a Kuwaiti lawyer and publish their interactions online. Let’s see what the government has to say in writing.
You can’t stop the Friday marked, they will pop up somewhere else. We need more shops like PetZone and regulations / control of the marked.
KSPATH and many of the volunteers (friends of mine) has worked years and years in vain for this subject. Government do nothing, what they seem to miss is,

The only reason this is up and running is because there are people ready to buy from them! Where is the government? Why on earth aren’t they closing down this?

SHUT THIS DOWN! It’s ridiculous that no Kuwaiti comes forward to get this market permanently shut down. Mark – perhaps start a petition and get some of your like minded Kuwaiti friends involved to see if we can do something about this situation?
We all need to do out part before we have the right to complain about others lack of action.
