A reader was watching a Lexus car concept video and noticed something peculiar. The last scene of the video shows the concept car driving off into a futuristic city but on closer inspection, the city features buildings from Kuwait. If you enlarge the video full screen and look carefully you can spot Al Hamra Tower, Arraya Tower 1, Arraya Tower 2 and KIPCO Tower (there might be more). So it kinda looks like Kuwait City in the future, check out the video [Here]

A future Kuwait City with no traffic… A man can dream 🙂
Thanks for posting it Mark :D, You made a really shitty day a whole lot better.
Kuwait with a future, thats funny
Why is that funny?
It isn’t lucky is just trying to be smart. :3
Funny because he means that when the oil runs out, everyone will desert the desert.
People lived in Kuwait for centuries prior to discovering oil. When oil runs out, assuming that there will be no other source of income which in fact there currently is, the standard of living might deteriorate. Kuwait’s existence is in no way reliant on oil.
You’re right about people living here before oil. However, before oil, people didn’t know what they were missing. Are you telling me kuwaitis can go back to living without A/C, maids, 5 vacations a year, etc?
Impossible.
They weren’t missing out on A/C. The use of A/C and other electricity-based inventions started early last century I believe, which coincided with discovery of oil.
Abolishing government subsidies with the introduction of income and sales laws coupled with the income generated by Kuwait’s sovereign wealth fund will be sufficient. Still, Kuwait’s oil supply can last a very long time, not to mention the new discovery of natural gas.
To answer your question,Kuwaitis went to living without electricity, maids, vacations, etc during the Iraqi invasion.
