A reader took the picture above in Dubai. For non-Arabic speaking readers, the mistake in the advert is the price. Instead of writing Emirati Dirhams they wrote Kuwaiti Dinars so the price of the C-Class starts at KD159,000.
Thanks Samer

few months back there was an ad on the press a similar to the above one but in DHS
Can’t believe Mercedes dealing with such crap marketing company !!
I think it’s done on purpose… There is an asterisk and something is written in smaller typo, maybe we should find out what that says first…
are you serious?
Looooooool !!!! That just made my day !!!! Classic one !!
Mark please save this one !!
theZay, yes, I also think it is done on purpose, I think the price is really KD 159,00o. There is an astrisk, and in small rint it says; *yes, its really that expensive because it cures cancer.
im kind of certain that the picture is photoshop’ed! its quite impossible not to notice the mistake, from the marketing, management, ministry . .
True, I mean come on if not all of these, at least the workers who placed the AD!!
you seriously think the workers who stick these ads up give a fuck if it says KD or DH? Neither does the ministry care about that.
Haha no, from experience they don’t read ads before putting them up
most of the advertising in this area is based on copying some one else’s advertising idea to the letter, this is just one of them
this isn’t copying. it’s a template they get from mercedes and they apply their offer/copy to it.
Actually the mother company often doesn’t LET you change the ad. They give you an ad and tell you to change the relevant info to your country and the format has to be the same.
maybe it was addressed to the Kuwait ski team visiting Dubai??
Mercedes and Ski !! What a great combination !!!
Well there is an asterisk and something is written below but looking at it as it is its really messed up.
Well… Hahahaha, at this point, isn’t everything possible in advertising? And it was just a suggestion, insinuating that maybe, for once, the advertisers for Benz GCC were trying to be daring or something, since what’s written under is not that clear…
I don’t see what’s hilarious about thinking out of the box.
Actually, maybe if kuwaiti advertisers did something unusual for once, we’de have better local ads.
Question is, Acerboy and Farid, are you serious?
AS IF.
There is a HUGE shortage of good arabic copywriters in Dubai I hear lol and looks like t shows.
