Kuwait Blogs 1.2

The update for the Kuwait Blogs App is now available in the store. If it isn’t there yet give it a few hours while all the App stores world wide sync. Anyway it fixes the incompatibility issues with iOS4 and I’ve also added the Some Contrast blog back. Now someone this morning made me aware of the fact that the Some Contrast blog was actually loading the feeds of Tidbit Du Jour in the updated App. That’s my mistake, I was in such a rush to get out the update I didn’t test the App and this mix up slipped by. So, I just submitted update 1.21 which fixes their feed. That should be available sometime end of this week. [Link to App Store]

Thanks for the iOS compat but please upgrade for the retina display! The icon and the header all look like shit as well as the ads.

I dont know if you tap a site, when its loading the images for the blog post headers (the screen where you tap posts to look at the full post) it looks great, but as soon as the images are loaded it looks blurry.

They do. They inform and post tech stuff for Kuwait or what is soon to come, they post events that takes place, gadget reviews, internet mems, youtube videos you wouldn’t normally see (or might have but your friend missed out). It pretty much does the same as any other Kuwaiti blog that’s out there. The blog has changed from what it was before.

I know exactly and sadly they don’t post Kuwait related posts. If you check the blogs I’ve added to the iPhone app they all post about Kuwait.

Mark. I think you’re mistaken and you might want to re-check the blog again. They do post a lot Kuwaiti related material. You can even see it in the Kuwaitism category section of the blog.

I did download the app and I checked the blogs that were listed. Not every blog on that app keeps on a constant biases talk about Kuwait. They all go on and off. They sometimes post Kuwaiti related issues and would then post something else of interest which is exactly what Q8Geeks.org blog does but on the tech side.

Please have another thought about the blog. Thanks

DarkWolf, I was talking about Puddle of Red not Q8geeks. I just checked q8geeks and there doesn’t seem to be many posts about Kuwait there. I flipped through 3 pages and there was just 1 post related to Kuwait.

I get a lot of requests for blogs to be added to the app but I won’t add every blog to Kuwait Blogs. I have to choose and add the ones I feel are the blogs that will benefit people the most. Too many blogs in the app will make it less practical and a chore to flip through. Too little blogs and the app become a chore to use. It’s a balance I need to try and keep.

Q8geeks posts for example are 95% not Kuwait related. If they were Kuwait related they would be one of the blogs I check regularly and they would end up in the application. If I wanted to add a tech blog that doesn’t relate to Kuwait I would add Engadget for example. But since its a Kuwait Blogs app I’ve kept all the blogs in the app purely Kuwait related.

Ah I see. I can understand regards to having a lot of blogs on the app will make it less practical and your right there has to be balance otherwise it will be pain flip page after page (not a pretty picture). Thanks for the clarification Mark.

Cheers.

I was just about to agree as well, it does make sense to condense it. But by saying that it doesn’t have to do with Kuwait, you are implying that it doesn’t at all. For instance, your iphone post… I am more than certain the iphone wasn’t manufactured in Kuwait. I understand that you got it from Kuwait, but you are clearly comparing it to the 3g. Lool πŸ˜›

M: I didn’t say ALL posts have to be related to Kuwait. I said a blog that posts 95% of the time posts not about Kuwait isn’t a blog about Kuwait.
