Coronavirus curfew complicates lives of Kuwaiti polygamists

Abu Othman, like thousands of Kuwaiti men, has struggled to split his time between two wives living in separate homes amid the Gulf state’s strict lockdown to combat the coronavirus.

“My life has become so complicated,” the 45-year-old, who has 10 children between the two women, told AFP.

..

But in response to appeals by scores of polygamists like Abu Othman to ease their restrictions on movement, the Kuwaiti authorities on Sunday introduced electronic permits to men married to more than one woman for one-hour visits twice a week. Source

Seems like a good problem to have. Here is a link to the “Family Care” curfew pass page.

Or any world’s problem with people having affairs, this one just happens to be regulated and unlikely to be kept secret.

Not calling it legitimized only, but regulated which is most important. Regulated from a law enforcement perspective as well as social/religious perspective.

Why does it matter if it’s regulated? Because you’ll be held responsible in front of: 1. Law, 2. Society/Family/Tradition, 3.God/Self-Consciousness and not simply disappear or cowardly retreat the moment you get messaged a 2-lined pregnancy test.

That’s why i said it’s unlikely to be kept secret, and even if it does, not for long lol.

Because when you have a second “Wife” and not just an affair, you’re obligated to behave as a “Husband” in terms of responsibilities and perform your duties. That includes sleeping over which can easily be detected first wife.

BTW am not a promoter for 2nd wives, i am just saying it’s allowed in Islam as a religion and it is regulated. Much better than having broken families (if it is done right).

That’s great! It will disallow those weasels that have been using the lock down as an excuse to avoid house # 2 because in reality he just likes the jarish (Kuwaiti dish) better from house #1

I do not see what is the big deal with having multiple wives?

Don’t most women accept a husband having more than one wife. I mean come on.

These are called conjugal visits in US prisons. Let’s drop the charade that this has anything to do with being a father and acknowledge that it’s everything to do with screwing the mistress.

I think when anyone justifies anything with, “It’s allowed by religious law.”, it should be viewed as suspect.

This isn’t about taking care of the first wife, it’s all about “trading up”.

And TEN KIDS?!?! What the holy hell?!?!

Kuwaiti man gets all 4 wives together tell them fatwa instructs each wife to put her name in the hat but only one name per wife.
He will pick one name and spend the lock down only with her. He passes the hat and reaches in to pull the lucky wife. SURPRISED no names in hat. Wah wah wah.
