Last week I posted a link to the popular architecture website ArchDaily who had nominated Al Shaheed Park for “Building of the Year 2016” under the category Public Architecture. Over the weekend I was made aware that there was another nomination for a Kuwait based project, the Ali Mohammed T. Al-Ghanim Clinic. The clinic was designed by AGi architects and is nominated for “Building of the Year 2016” under the category Healthcare Architecture. The building looks pretty cool for a clinic and I actually want to pass by and check it out in person.

I guess they didn’t have enough budget for the interior.
that’s what i thought too lool.
Actually the interior is looking nice, in a minimalist sort of way. With this exterior, if they would’ve gone for a more modern look on the inside there would’ve been a high chance to blow the whole thing off.
Ofcourse however, the best hospital design atleast in the GCC has to be the Cleveland Clinic in Abu Dhabi, but i guess in the independent clinic sphere this will surely take the cake.
Ali AlGhanim built it as a donation. I don’t think money was an issue.
So why didn’t they build it from gold and diamonds then?
Mark OT: Your site has been noticeably sluggish lately. It takes a while for a page to load.
Yeah been having server issues 🙁
There’s also a Kuwaiti designed apartment building on the list FYI, missed one 😛
which category?
My bad it was a different Architecture Award lol
