Sultan Center in Shaab have a new section called “Consume Fast”. It’s a section where food that is about to expire is displayed and their prices are discounted. I was expecting the prices to be half off or more but most of the stuff I saw were just slightly cheaper. Still for items that are going to be consumed right away it’s a better deal.

The Sultan Center made a habit of selling almost expired food. I stopped going there long time ago. There are less expensive and better quality alternatives.
yeah I know what you mean but at least they’ve found a better solution than just leaving it on the regular shelves.
I was there today and saw Easter candy that was still at full price; sometimes items don’t have to be about to expire before they are discounted!
hahahaha
Thanks for sharing this.
Last week I was at the Marks and Spencer’s Coffee Shop.I loved their tea and wanted to purchase the tea bags which they also sell. But to my disappointment, the expiry date was September 2014. The production date was September 2013. I asked the staff if I could get some that had a further off expiry date, but they said the next lot would arrive in September 2014. I found that a bit odd.
.. And no discount either. Haha!

Just order it online from Borderlinx. It will make you even more pretentious 😉
This is showing that certain product lines don’t sell in this market and they should utilize better marketing techniques during the product’s ‘lifecycle’ to move the merchandise. In addition, they should not bring product lines that won’t sell in the market. You just don’t sell food anymore, there is an education process involved in the marketing in order to move merchandise. ie. healthy options.
maybe the heart shaped watermelons are there in this lot…
