A reader spotted the above at the Mall of Emirates map/categories. According to my contact at Alshaya, the opening of Shake Shack in Kuwait has been pushed till Q1 of next year so they better not open up in Dubai before Kuwait.

Actually they will open sometime in November.
I made sure since i work in Emirates Flight Catering as a sous chef, and Al Shaya group happens to be one of our clients 🙂
That sure wouldn’t be nice if they don’t open in Kuwait first.
But what will they gain if they open in Dubai first and not Kuwait?
Since there’s no good reason for that I’m sure they’ll open in Kuwait first.
I’ve been waiting for Shake Shack too since Subway isn’t exactly doing a great job in my opinion. It’s time for an alternative.

Shake shack is scheduled to open in June in avenue. The same time for mall of emirates but possibly mall of emirates will open first.

im sure the cause of the delay is related to the meat being non halal. they need a halal facility first. Also the buns need to be flown over. its going to be one hell of an expensive burger. i wonder how those beings roaming around the avenues would react to it.
i think the meat is already halal like most meat in the states and the buns would definitely be made locally and not imported.
Mark, I lived in the States and had many burger including shake shack burgers. It’s not halal. The buns they use are available in the supermarkets there. I haven’t seen them in Kuwait. All I’m saying is that it won’t be cheap to get that same exact quality. The only place that tastes better than the states is McDonalds. Weird.
Mark seriously is shake shack that good that you posted about it 100’s of times I can’t wait to see what’s that restaurant that you are posting about and waiting for since ages! I agree with Essa I will do something to you if it’s not good :p

Maybe cuz Dubai is a better place for business? Common Zuma, Nobu and Caramel have opened in Dubai and you’re fighting over a burger joint? Well , grow up! Most of the restaurants are not gonna open in kuwait cuz u don’t sell alcohol. So u need to come to Dubai and have proper, fine dining experience 😉
Shake Shack is an awesome burger Joint and Five guys is meant to be the best burger in USA . And btw if u got to mall of emirates the starbucks has been moved and the whole shop is under renovation where starbucks was and says opening soon so i excpect it to be open by March ! cant wait 🙂
Hate to break it to you guys, but Shake Shack has officially opened in Dubai n Mall of the Emirates. gonna hit it up this weekend and see if they’ve kept their quality, unlike Brooklyn Diner.
