I feel fat

So I posted yesterday that I’m going to be working my ass off with cardio, gym and an extremely unappetizing diet to try and hit 12% body fat by the end of the month. But then today I spotted the above picture on a weight loss supplement, the guys “Before” fat percentage is what I want my “After” to be! Don’t know if this is depressing or funny.

hi Mark! the pic is so fake i just hope and pray u didn’t miss that point-and it’s not depressing-quitters never win & winners never quit so it’s ur call-work on it and u’ll get there in no time! after all u guys get there way quicker than us women :'( now that’s depressing hehehe

Why so much fuss..

this one is easier done than thought & said.. ofcourse you have to abide by some fitness rules.

I’m assuming you have already been working out.

don’t go for any fancy fat burners. they are more harmful than you appear. one’s you stop the side effects will start popping out.

my suggestion: go for a 3 months (12 weeks) workout routine. be religious.

one of the best workouts i have come across is 5×5 stronglifts. it works.
you want become skinny with it. but you will definately tone ur body. build the base.

build mass, get stronger and at the same time burn the fat.

you can find the routine online. just google it. its available on a excel sheet free of charge. if you cant find it, drop in a mail. i will send it to you.

you might have to do slight modifications to the routine like adding 5 mins of cardio prior to weight lifting to war up ur body and 15-20 mins of cardio post workout.

to make it interesting and not monotonous every now n then be creative and do some extra workouts or replace the current workout. don’t do any major changes.

no need to go for a big diet. keep control over your food intake, cut out on fatty and big carbs food.

since we don’t get proteins from everything we eat. i suggest go for ON 100% whey protein. (chocolate flavour is my favorite). 5lbs will cost you around 25kd and 20kd on tuesdays. so buy it on Tuesday 😉 it lasts for 20-30 days depending on how you take it. i take it twice a day so it last for 20-22 days.

as i said this one is easier done… if u think too much it will just discourage you… start doing it…then even if you miss for a day other than your resting/recovery days… you will actualy start feeling guilty…

and yeah… no shake shack for you as of yet :p

all the best!

i have been working out religiously for around 15 or 16 months now. i’ve got a lot of different routines, a very good diet and everything. It’s just now I’m doing an extra push to clean out as much fat as possible before beach season just so I could get my six packs to show. Shouldn’t be too difficult, not worried about it either. I’m just trying to get it done by the end of April.

You need to stop falling for advertising.

The only way to get an accurate measure of body fat is to dissect yourself.

5%, 10% does it matter? You are interested in what you look like right?

Aim for a performance goal, how about 10 strict pull-ups and a deadlift with twice your bodyweight?

Your self-confidence and posture will improve and your physique will reflect your strength, you won’t need to shave and oil your torso to see your abs.

i already do 3 sets of pull-ups as part of my routine, both back pull ups and bicep pull ups.

the 12% body fat percentage is a number which if i hit will most probably show my abs. Thats all, has nothing to do with falling for advertising or anything.

Mark, if you can do a twice bodyweight deadlift you will see your abs without hours on the treadmill or a super strict diet (just don’t go hog wild).

Either way good luck, your blog will keep you acountable, which is important in goal setting.

%12 is actually pretty good, I go through a zig zag type of body change, switching between %12 – %10, and this has been going for the entire Fall – Winter.

Since summer is here, I aim for a %9 even if it’ll just last for a few weeks. Maintaining it at that is easier for a guy who lives in a gym, but harder for another guy who has a 9 – 5 job, other interests….etc.

222lb @ 12% body fat = 26.6 lb fat and 195.4 lb lean body mass (lbm)
194 @ 5.5% body fat = 10.7 lb fat and 183.3 lb lbm
So the model lost 28 lbs, 16 of which were fat and 12 of which were lean body mass (muscle, water, hair ;] etc..) .

Of course that doesn’t take into account how they measured body fat or photoshop or posture etc…

If he lost 10 lb of fat and gained 10 lb of muscle from the first picture he would be 7.5% bf, but what would he look like?

Like I said before you can’t accurately measure body fat unless you dissect the model, so the number is meaningless.

He lost weight, 28lb some of which was also muscle…

I saw this somewhere, forgot where. I don’t think the before looks too bad, it’s actually good. When I did see this I was like “whaat?”

Being the before is good, trust me XD.
