This is pretty disappointing news but it doesn’t look like there will be track days this year at Kuwait Motor Town. Supposedly the contract with the company that was running KMT expired and it wasn’t renewed and neither does anyone else seem to want to run it. So all events that were scheduled to take place at the race track were canceled and there won’t be any open track days until a new company takes over. Sucks.

Wtf
I’m sure local companies/personnel are more than capable of handling a track day
it’s about handling the race track and not just a track day. Nobody wants to manage the track, my guess is that it isn’t financially viable, or maybe there is some other reason.
I was in touch with one of the employees at the karting track in KMT. They told me that they’re back to work at the end of the month (end of October). I don’t know if this applies to karting too, but it would be sad as KMT has the best karting track in Kuwait
Contract expired I think end of October so there should be no karting either
How is the lighting at night at the track?
Terrible to the point I don’t take part in track days that go past sun down cuz i can’t see the track. Bahrain track during night time for example, is lit up like its day time.
KMSC has weekly drift practice shows in Dajeej area. They also host seasonal events for racing, drifting, motogpt, karting, etc., with a go-kart track open daily, even during summers. The only outdoor karting in the country.
KMSC doesn’t have a race track so can’t be compared. They’re also not the only outdoor karting in the country, there are at least two other outdoor karting tracks including one at KMT.
Good news
They are back
Aum posted something about it 2 days ago and it’s been confirmed by kmt today
Another great infrastructure project will decay in the Middle of no where.
This issue is all down to the ASN, who to my knowledge, does nothing beyond issuing International Driving Licenses and Triptik. Kuwait International Rally, one of the first and key motosport events in the region, is organized and run by a private club who is doing it as long ad they get funding.
They need to attract and organize international events in order to survive, hence they can operate day events for local drivers.
Reminds me of Al Ahmadi Karting Track…
