Eidiya ATMs at Avenues

The Central Bank has placed eight ATM machines around Avenues to dispense money for Eidiya’s. The ATM machines can dispense KD1 and KD5 notes in addition to the usual KD10 and KD20 notes. Four of the machines are located in Grand Avenue (pictured above) while the other four are located in the 2nd Avenue near H&M.

Distributing money (eidiya) to children during Eid is a popular tradition not just in Kuwait but throughout the Gulf.

Thanks LadyB!

Its newly printed money taken directly from the central bank that has never been circulation before that are being dispensed.

it’s regular money, giving away for relatives kids in Eid, or very close friends kids.

it’s nor a currency, and Mark referring to ATM machine note not Eidiyah.

Ediya is given traditional even in India and Pakistan. And I am sure it’s the same for all
Celebrating Eid over the world.

Eidiya is the word used to give the gift of money. It’s not special kind os currency.

So why these special ATMs. Is this money given to the all the nationals from the government as Eidiya?
Or is it just additional ATMs installed to tackle rush for money…?

Ediya is not just in the gulf. Its part of Eid and happens anywhere people celebrate eid.

@Brian Ediya money has to be fresh crisp unwrinkled money, thats what special about those machines, they are giving our fresh uncirculated notes from the CBK. The post didn’t really explain that part.

After turning into an Adult who has to give out Money on Eid instead of getting it about 5 years ago, I would’ve been so much happier if the tradition was to giving out Hugs.
