Embassy of Sound Party

[YouTube]

I just found out about EoS. Seems like they’re a cool local group that bring in international DJ’s to Kuwait and set up parties. They’re pretty organized with a website that contains information, pictures and even a blog. The video above is of one of their latest parties but check out their website for more details.

I guess this could be counted as an activity if you can get an invite? [Link]

Update: Wow, according to their DJ list they’ve even brought EL DJETTE to Kuwait!

They are going down .. big time .

I think this is without a question the first official business party we see in kuwait getting advertise to the public .

The photo section is unbelievable .

How the hell they didn’t ask if its legal or not ? I am talking about the sponsors .. absolutely unbelievable .

DAMN!!! There are pretty HOT chicks. How come I never heard of this and why wasn’t I invited.

The bigger question is, they actually have parties like this in Kuwait and it’s not hidden?

Hopefully by next year alcohol will be allowed in certain places in kuwait so that I wouldn’t spend my money on ticket and partying outside the country and start spending it here more 🙂 no offence to anyone guys..

We were there with a few friends and it was by far the best party we have had in Kuwait the last 2 years. And coming from Amsterdam we are quite “experienced” and spoiled in this field and even by our standards this was an 8+ on a ten scale easily! long live the brittish embassy…

Parties in Kuwait ? I think they serve booze im shocked that they have sponsors this big i meen i know that ther always been partie and alcohol in Kuwait but never in public i don`t mind having big paties but alcohol i don`t know about that i hope i get to be invited to one of ther parties that would be awesome

And now that they’re on this blog, everyone will know and they’ll shut them down

Keep the good stuff under wraps, Mark! You know what we’re dealing with here!

i looked at their photo gallery, correct me if i’m wrong, but one of the parties looks like inside the British embassy foyer and outside garden.

Lol, I’m somewhere in there! and for all those worried or thinking it’s illegal, it’s not..it’s in the british embassy..perfectly legal, since it’s inside the premises..and all you have to do is purchase ticks to attend.

Of course they can’t ‘shut them down’! Its at the British Embassy where parties and alcohol are allowed!!

OK now that this circulating the internet a whole bunch of Kuwaiti MPs especially the religious ones will complain next estejwaab and fining the companies who are sponsoring them then they’re gonna be shut down. The more this is publicized the more right wing religious/moralist Kuwaitis (who are the majority btw) will demand action against it. This has repeated itself all over from private schools having parties to the tent parties in the desert.

Relax guys, it was at UK Embassy, no one can touch them, its by invite only, and its pretty awesome, this year they had the dance floor area, bar, and a lounge in the garden with sheesha, but again you have to know someone who knows someone who knows someone……

EOS is held by the British Embassy every year. Its not an open event, they are pretty strict and dont let anyone enter unless you are a member of the british embassy or you know someone who can get you in.

RELAX PEOPLE..IT WAS A PRIVATE FUNCTION..ONLY INVITES..I REALLY DUNNO WHY PEOPLE MAKE A BIG THING OUT OF NUTHING..ITS NT LIKE THEY DID SUMTHING ILLEGAL…IT WAS THEIR PRIVATE FUNCTION..((PRIVATE))ALTOUGH IT WUD BE NICE IF GOT INVITED TO A PRIVATE FUNCTION ONECE IN A WHILE…THERE R SO MANY ILLEGAL FUNCTIONS HAPPENING OUT IN THE DESERTS..WHY AINT NOBODY TALKING BOUT THAT???

What RaZ said.
It’s not a public place nor is accessible to the general public, so not much can be done about it.

It’s the same like in KSA where you know you will get in serious trouble if caught with alcohol, but if you are inside Aramco, you know that it’s pretty easy to party and drink.

OMG finally its outta the closet. Yeh Mark you shouldnt publicize something like this, let them be in peace.

For the record. This party is the seccond one to the sequel of their first ever embassy of sound last year 2009. Embassy of sound is a DJ oriented party.

For the record. Prior to 2009 they started off with Kuwaitstock, a rock band show where differnt bands of Kuwait performed. This was in 2007, followed by 2008. They raised the bar in 2009 by inviting interntional bands to perform as well. Veteran bands such as Switchback, Earsplit, Lounging criminals etc have all been part of this outstanding show.

By far I think the British Embassy is the only place which offers the best in Kuwait(alcohol, music, dance) and its not a small time thing, its very well organised by some of the best professionals working at the embassy itself.

Yes you cant get in !!! hahahhaa, you need to have a contact …. which is the best part about it.

And yes I have been their loyal attendee right from 2007 😉

It’s really sad how you have to battle to find good entertainment in this country.Things you normally take for granted if you’re a foreigner.I really feel sorry for all the expats living in Kuwait, including myself.

Check out the pics they have on the site! SHADYness United, seriously!

Embassy of Sound? At least come up with something a bit more original than trying to whip the name and logo from the well known “Ministry of Sound”

Come on guys you know booze is illegal in Kuwait don`t break the low and idon`t care if it`s the British or the America embassy booze is illegal in here you know that before you came to this country and you could be arrested for that every body frome every nationality are welcome in her but isow some of the commins above and one of them said (What we have to deal whith in her) hey listen if you think Kuwait booring and sucks you don`t have to deal with just go some wher else it`s easy you don`r have tyo stay her

This was an crazy, awesome, amazing night. It’s not open to the general public and NEVER advertised. Would be nice if this could happen all over Kuwait but as yet it’s a closed guest list :O(

Desert sky…if you don’t like it then LEAVE
You’re all lamenting what you don’t have when you have no idea what this kind of stuff brings with it!
Open your eyes guys and look around you…

Well, now the video is down and the website is inaccessible. What the hell happened?

It’s a shame it’s invite only. For a moment there I was excited to hear about a decent party scene in Kuwait, that’s not trashy.

wow. sooo I got here a bit late, huh?
(site is secured, video gone, google doesn’t come up with anything…)
Ah well. It’s stupid, this was definitely interesting enough to have counted as an “activity.”
ah well…until the next time I find out about some techno in Kuwait!

i’d like to throw some light on the rules and regulations practiced by the Embassies world-wide:

“an Embassy on a foreign soil but not the building itself, have their own laws and nobody can overstep within the soil of the embassy,
it is just as if you were to enter another country without a visa,
the Embassy rules within its area, and does not comply to host countries,
it is like a small country within another country,
A diplomatic mission is a group of people from one state or an international inter-governmental organization (such as the United Nations) present in another state to represent the sending state/organization in the receiving state. In practice, a diplomatic mission usually denotes the permanent mission, namely the office of a country’s diplomatic representatives in the capital city of another country.

Extraterritoriality

Nordic Embassies Berlin Under international law, diplomatic missions enjoy an extraterritorial status and thus, although remaining part of the host country’s territory, # they are exempt from local law and in almost all respects treated as being part of the territory of the home country.# They are also only required to pay taxes equal to their respective countries’ guidelines.
As the host country may not enter the representing country’s embassy without permission, embassies are sometimes used by refugees escaping from either the host country or a third country.”
So drinking and partying inside the British embassy premises is not an offense and its got nothing to do with the laws of Kuwait.

Contrary to popular belief, diplomatic missions do not enjoy full extraterritorial status and are not sovereign territory of the represented state [1]. Rather, the premises of diplomatic missions remain under the jurisdiction of the host state while being afforded special privileges (such as immunity from most local laws).”

So drinking and partying inside the British embassy premises is not an offense and its got nothing to do with the laws of Kuwait.

Well this is all bogus, yeh the embassy does have parties and fortunately one is coming up next month. Well the guys behind this are really a bunch of nosy goons who think they rule the party scene in Kuwait and getting an entry to these parties is like tough luck, if u do just to make u feel they’re obliging u to some taste of fun. sad enough we are in a country that doesn’t encourage all this stuff ….. if only it were legal in Kuwait no one would give a flying ass to the British Embassy and its so called ‘INVITE ONLY’ parties.

Be discreet and shut up rather than have your own website and ga ga publicity about it. We know you are capable of doing a good job so stop fishing for compliments….. its not a big achievement either its really SAD
