The old abandoned parking lot in Salmiya that was popular with graffiti artists was demolished today. I thought it was going to get refurbished since a new mall opened up right next door and now I’m wondering if it will be rebuilt as a parking lot or more likely… another mall will be built in it’s place.

Lots of malls and very little parking
Oh that’s terrible unless they are thinking to have open air shaded parking with lazy Susans and all.
i wonder when will that mall open..
I personally think the old parking lot should’ve been pushed down from the beginning, that way, the new mall that they’ve built would’ve been bigger.
It’s probably being rebuilt. Could be the reason why it was empty from
The beginning. A poorly design parking lot, structurally speaking.
Wow, I think a landmark has gone.
It was one of the worst designed parking garages ever.. good riddance
Well it was one of the oldest in town.
Second that.
Suspect the parking scene will be a horrid mess once both Al Salaam and Al Sahoud malls are fully operational. The so called parking garage closely abuts or even French kisses some would argue, the brand new retail development. I am not an expert on this but from a structural engineering stand point wonder if it was a wise decision to knock it down at this stage of post maturity. In trying to mow its conjoined twin down hopefully, parts of the newly built mall should not start to cave in.
Besides there is a block of fugly residential buildings stood on the street opposite facing the mall which is an eye sore that needed to be razed much before they could think of knocking down this cars depot.
For odd reason, construction companies or owners of Private Buildings, do not think of parking space.
I Mean I just don’t get it how in the world massive properties are constructed with no parking. Absolute nonsense.
The people who run the show, have no sense of planning in infrastructure development.
