Each 4 meter segment (the one used to lift the crane) cost 4000KD to buy (new). This is 1000KD for each meter of height. However, they usually rent them and rarely buy them new unless they need special cranes with special configuration such as the ones with no counter weight (like the one they are using in Burj Dubai).
BoBader, I think even the ones used for constructions in Dubai are rentals from abroad and not purchased.
