Okay, Deliveroo is officially my favorite food delivery service!! God bless them 🙌🏻
What I like about Deliveroo is how they really do care about their drivers. They introduce you to them when making the order (as in the drivers name who will deliver the food to you), they allow you to tip the driver in the app which is very convenient, and the things they talked about in the video. So these things make me want to deal with them even more than the other delivery companies
speaking of tipping, they need to adjust the app so that you can tip the driver AFTER delivering. There have been a number of times where I’ve really wanted to tip the drivers or leave them a rating because of how good they were but there isn’t a way to do so after placing the order.
Agreed!
It’s worth investigating whether the specific driver gets the tip you left him (in full). Many restaurants here will force all the staff to pool the tips, and some restaurants even deduct a large percentage of that for the P&L of the restaurant.
Still does not deliver to my area which is a shame.
plain stupid, show off stuffs really !
the heat is unbearable. cars most used for delivery.
I don’t care if the package is late 10 minutes or whatever because using cars instead bikes.
this condition is bad for anyone and can effect their health in the long run.
but that’s not our choice to make, so lets play our part and compensate them for the efforts these guys put to deliver our food.
I can get your point of view and we should help others when we can.
but in this case there is no compensation to make, it’s not a valid work environment and the company should do necessary actions. nevertheless we can boycott the company until they enhance the work environment.
actually this is just a big show! dileveroo took this action after carriage failed marketing attempt. they care less about drivers.
I heard from several friends that Talabat and Carriage are threatening all the restaurants that are signing with Delivero that they will cancel the current 20% contracts with them if they don’t drop Delivero as a service, and that new contracts will be signed at 25%.
Talabat and Carriage are fighting dirty! Moreover, their service is getting more crap day by day!
You know how Deliveroo signed them in the first place right? They came in at lower % already. That’s how competition works. Who cares unless you own a restaurant, the competition benefits the customer.
I agree when its honest competition, not going around threatening to cancel contracts and raise percentages to intimidate them.
I encourage competition to improve the service, but when their service is going down the hill day by day and then they do this it means they have shitty morals and only care about money and screw the customer and his experience!
So from over 55C in the shade to maybe 40C at best. Yeah cuz that’s bearable lol what a joke.
What is it that you want them to do? Nothing? I’m sure the riders prefer 40c over 55c
How about not using bikes in the summer months for starters? You know, something that actually makes a difference.
If you don’t want them to use bikes then you need to first change the mentality of the population. You can’t expect to have your food arrive quickly, pay cheap delivery fees and at the same time, you want them to use cars.
There is a reason why restaurants have been using bikes for delivery over cars for years, way before carriage, talabat and deliveroo existed.
All i have to say is Kudos to Deliveroo. To those bashing this campaign, at least they’re ‘attempting’ something which is more than i can say for the other delivery services in Kuwait
Where can we get these cooling vests for personal use?
Ali – go to any motorcycle shop – the Tri Star BMW shop in Al Shuwaikh has them . . . having done extensive motorbiking in hot climate across the GCC prefer to use the “wet t-shit” method . . .not as clingy to the body than the vest
Asking the right questions.. haha 😀
On a serious note, brilliant stuff from Deliveroo of taking cafe of their main folks! 🙂
My first time with the company was a great experience, I thought it was cool how they introduced the driver and I could follow him on the map knowing that my food would arrive shortly.
Their app doesn’t leave you guessing about the preparation and delivery time when you’re starving.
I’ve boycotted both Talabat and Carriage because of their service. Both of their Instagram feeds comments are filled with nothing but complaints from frustrated customers! And now they’ve started deleting them lol! Deliveroo came to Kuwait and they prioritize customer service and they’ve really done a good job! Using them for 4 months now and it couldn’t get any better!
Regardless whether they really care about the well being of their riders or its a gimmick to outshine the competition; Deliveroo at least is doing something for their drivers to relieve them from the horrendous heat outside. I would also suggest that along with the vests they provide them with cooling skull caps to be worn under their helmets. I can only imagine how uncomfortable they must be under there when sitting out exposed under the sun and wearing a helmet.
I am amazed really ! we are not talking about the customer service experience here, I can confirm that dileveroo service for me is better than others. We are talking about how do they treat their drivers!
why would they post ads about the vest in first place ? just to show off and make advantage of carriage failed campaign. that’s it.
please guys don’t make excuses for dileveroo, if you asked any of their drivers he will definitely prefer car over the bike. We are not in a poor country with limited access to cars or other stuffs. the company here is just calculating the costs and minimize it, pure business for them. if buying cars is cheaper than vest then let’s go!
They’re letting their customers know that they’re taking care of their riders and that they’re aware it’s hot which is why they’re providing these things.
You can’t offer fast delivery with cars, that’s why everyone uses bikes.
Actually they are taking care of their business mark. They are aware that these type of ads do touch people emotions.
Honestly I do blame both dileveroo and we as customers. We should understand what is the consequences of delivering under 30 minutes. We have to understand that getting the order fast mean that drivers will suffer from the heat
If you don’t want drivers to suffer, then don’t ever order from them, pick up your own food or cook at home if you’re just going to complain and act morally superior.
I don’t have to reply to you and tells how I order or cook my food.
seems that nowadays speaking about mistreating makes you a superior 🙂
It is already difficult to get a car license. The added cars on the road will piss certain people off even more. I’m sure getting a car license is one of the major factor in choosing bike over car, other than the speed of delivery.
i just dont support these delivery services with bikes in summer. Driving condition is unbearable, unsafe too. i would feel guilty eating knowing that some suffered to deliver it.
seems people lossed their conscience
There are people voluntarily riding their motorbikes to work (I see them on my way and back from work) and my Datsun doesn’t have AC so I drive around in this heat with the windows open. I wouldn’t call it suffering. It’s hot yes, it’s uncomfortable yes but it’s not as dramatic as you’re making it sound. I used to ride my Vespa in the summer and when you’re moving it’s not as bad as you think.

Going to work isnt similiar to doing as you job.
If he do it twice a day ya no suffering
But otherwise、no
