I want to be Paris Hilton’s BFF

Paris Hilton has a reality show called My New BFF which I’ve watched once before by mistake. The show is about Paris Hilton looking for a new best friend and it involves a bunch of guys and girls all trying out for that position. Well the show has now moved to Dubai and one of the contestants is a Kuwaiti girl called Reem Al Alnezi (pictured above). The Dubai version of the show doesn’t have any male contestants which means I am not in the running to be Paris Hilton’s best friend. That’s ok though since the only thing we had in common anyway was our love for Hardees.

No actually in Dubai BFF show they are using Star instead of pet they changed a lot of rules to respect the culture which i see is very good and i even saw her interview she said she is respecting the culture and the girls on the show.. so this one is kinda different… its fun and im excited to watch it 😉

Paris is such a detestable person, the fact that she has to be TOLD to respect a certain culture is some indication of what she’s like as a person.

I dont know why you ppl love saying negative comments… seriously get a life… its a show better than alot of other shows too!! its fun why not!!

I didn’t realize we weren’t allowed to criticize the pure and unadulterated Paris Hilton. I just hope for your sake that you and other young girls don’t look up to this bag of STDs as a role model.

I obviously don’t know Reem so my comment WASN’T directed to her in person. BUT I wonder how this whole obsession with celebs and the “glamor” of somehow being in someway -reality TV way in this case- associated with one, make any human -boy or girl- seam any other way than simply superficial and SHALLOW.
Don’t worry I am not one of those stone-aged fundamentalists, but you tell me what description fits a candidate for a competition that is all about “winning” the “friendship” of someone like Paris Hilton- Paris Hilton damn it.

bottom line, reality TV is the biggest FAIL in the world, no offense to any who enjoy it.

just the other day i ame across a show i think was called verminators, which is, u guessed it, a reality TV show for exterminators.

honestly, why leave scripted TV for this garbage? which is also scripted btw, theres no “reality” about it.

that’s total BS. There are a ton of great reality tv shows my favorite being Ultimate Fighter, Chasing Classic Cars, Kitchen Nightmares (UK more than the US), American Chopper and a few more I cant think of right now.

It’s cheap to make. You don’t have to hire actors, you barely need writers since it’s just following people around and seeing what they do, people will pay you to be on TV instead of the other way around, people’s standards are much lower so you can fill 12 hours of programming with cheap to make shows. Also modern culture is obsessed enough with fame that they make it look like being on these shows is its own reward (it’s not, they’re making money off of you that you don’t get)

reality TV is a a cheap knock off of reality, lets face it, theres nothing real about it. everything is overexaggerated because it is caught on camera, if it were filmed secretly, that would be genuine. but other than that,,

I have to agree with Um Abdullah, where’s the pride in that? Plus, how demeaning is it to have to “compete” for a friendship? I get that it’s all in the name of fun, but surely there are ways to have fun, on reality shows without having to subject yourself to that. But then again, that’s just my opinion and if Mark’s recent win in court is proof of anything, it’s that we are all free to have our own opinions 🙂

I don’t know or care who this girl is, but I’m not sure why um Abdullah thinks there’s any pride in making snarky comments about someone for no reason or that she’s in any position to judge. I’d believe you were just making an observation if you hadn’t gotten so defensive about it. If you’re looking for attention, maybe you should try detailing your own faults instead?

There should be an UFC version of My New BFF maybe call it My New TPF (training partner forever?). First season would be Frank Mir and all these guys wanting to be his training partner or something. Seriously I’d watch that.

Speaking of Hardee’s.. don’t you think its about time that you make a special post dedicated to them?

Seriously, is anyone still eating hardee’s out there? I used to like it but now its ruined! They mostly use fried chicken rather than charbroiled.. and whatever grilled chicken they have tastes like it was defrosted and microwaved for serving! yup tastes like it has already been grilled months ago!

i’d complain about their beef burgers… but i stopped buying them for two years now ever since i couldn’t finish their quarter pounder equivalent.

oh yeah, not only did their quality sink over the past couple of years, they have also increased the meal prices, started charging us for cheese in sandwiches such as santafe (which should already comes with cheese according to their menu), increased their delivery charges, and increased their delivery time from half an hour to one full hour (and it never arrives to me within an hour even though i’m in surra which is across the street from their branch), and they started using motorcycles to deliver their food. Excellent for Kuwait’s dusty weather!!

Oh one more thing… their cola tastes WEIRD.

i agree with yoshe… what kind of friendship is it if u need to compete to be their friend?? its a lame show.. i have nothing against any of the contestants but seriously paris hilton? Just cuz she’s rich and famous?? Lame excuse to be her friend. People just watch national geographic or discovery channel and learn something. And once again why is paris hilton famous? what USEFUL lasting impact has she left us with? other than saying “thats hot” about everything? If this reem person is a an engineer.. i wish she’d spend her well earned education and talent on other useful projects.

I once watched a snippet of one of her eps on youtube just to see why on earth it was famous, and in one of them she eliminated a contestant and said the reason she let her go was ‘Because she had to learn to put boyfriends before her friends’… and I thought ‘This is what’s messing up young girls today?.’
We already have lady gaga doing that and making a big fat living out of her lies that she represents every person who couldn’t fit in.

Flend , I’m not like worshiping Paris , its just annoy me when ppl think they r perfect , if u judge or u don’t respect her for her personality that’s fine , but to come and say that she is alcoholic and party lover sorry I won’t accept that, u know why ! joy_80 what i think those people meant was why would you want to compete in a show to be her friend if she drinks excessively and parties etc. In short she is far from being a good role model. By being on her show like that you are glorifying her behavior. Ok drinking and partying might be a way of life in the Western world..but getting a DUI and saying it was nothing isnt. In general i dont think people here have anything against Reem, we just think our fellow Kuwaiti could do better and find better friends.

Ok I do get it and I respect ur opinion , but why we think that just coz of reem entered the competition then automatically she will be influenced by her ! Why not the other way around , believe me Paris is not that bad , watch the show and see she is really sweet and not black-hearted like a lot of ppl I know here,she takes everything so easy that makes u laugh at her sometimes. I used to think the same about her but after the show I changed my mind , she is a real business woman who really took the advantage of being famous for nothing into something to be remembered for the rest of her life, see even we r talking about her, believe me this show about having some1 to know when she visits next time not to be her best friend for life! Paris as you say comes from a different society were all the things does: pre-marital sex, alcohol, drugs and partying is tolerated. Dubai is no matter how “open” and “westernised” it may be, is still an Arab emirate that withholds the Arab identity and culture…look at the Emaratis themselves, even though they live in one of the most westernised countries in the ME, they themselves are very conservative.

If Paris wanted a “friend” from Dubai…then make friends with Arabs who live the “Arab way”. Taking them clubing is not something a traditional Arab would do. It’s not part of our customs, hence its foreign. Don’t give me that O she wants a friend from that culture to befriend…no, not really…she just wants a show and honey our way of life wouldn’t get her 1 penny if it was aired.

Plus, I didn’t see Reem dancing in the club when Paris took them out clubbing…why? Could it be because she did not want to be seen at that scene? Probably. So why are you even in a show to be with America’s #1 party babe?!

You keep saying she’s a successful business woman. Of course she is, she used her name to bring in the cash. If she was born an average American citizen and worked her way to where she is today, I’d agree with you and say you’re right..she is an extraordinary business woman.

I’m sorry, she is just another bimbo who thinks bellydancer sarri’s are part of the Arabian culture and customs. I would suggest she get cultured…and when I mean cultured I don’t mean going to different countries around the world and doing exactly what you would do in your own country.

Even though i don’t know who this Reem is, when Um abdullah said that Reem “had problem making friends”, and Spartan says (s)he’s friends with Reem, then what Um abdullah said isn’t entirely untrue..!

I think Reem’s is better off not making friends with people like Um Abdullah if that’s how they only think judging her without really knowing her.. I saw some of the episodes and Reem really looks sweet and nice and it seems everyone will love her and I also read some other international blogs and how much they are loving her personality on the show….Reem will have so many friends all over the world now and you people who says bad things are the one who will end up alone with little friends and many enemies…

That program was shooted in Dubai like 2 years ago in Dubai and now they are showing it! A friend of me got crazy while Paris shooting that program there, she was all the time on Twitter, she dosent know how to talk, she’s like a doll! :/
