A Kuwait Metro Station

metro

The design and engineering group Atkins released the rendering above of a Kuwait Metro station they had proposed. Atkins are behind a number of projects including the Dubai Metro but I still think Saudi Arabia will end up with the nicest looking stations. In any case, I’m not even sure if the Kuwait Metro project is still even alive. [Link]

both the metro and railroad projects were put on hold, but should be resuming “soon”.

The disagreement was related to the lands these projects would utilize.

i like the fact that you are still posting about the metro project… i’ve been hearing about that for the past 6 or 7 years i guess… by the time this is done, no one will be using metro anymore…. all the best and i really wish to see the project executed soon…

Yea hopefully…
But I’m kinda pessimistic about that. I just feel like it’s going to be like the bus system. But the company can fool a lot of Kuwaitis with clever marketing, like using the word “prestige” and making it seem luxurious lol

And adding the word “boutique” and “hub” and “bar”.
I hope it gets built too. The cost of car ownership needs to increase in order for the masses to use it. Also a great connected network

Yes, that’s exactly why the country should spend $20 billion, so that migrant workers can have a nicer ride from jeleeb to Murgab.

It’s awful that it seems like we really can’t do anything about the progress of the project
we can only hope that the pronoun (they) will make it magically appear *poof*

here come people with the lame “it’s kuwait it’ll prolly finish 20xx” this is a gcc project will finish on time.

for your info Metro is a KUWAIT PROJECT……….

the rail network is GCC Project, and as per the news Kuwait and Bahrain are the only countries who are behind schedule……

It would cut down on traffic which would I turn hopefully reduce accidents. It would be better for the environment and be utilized by those wishing to go green. It would generate income and jobs as well. Good stuff all around.

I would travel on it if it were safe for women. I am petrified of taking the bus because of the arab kids. How will they ensure safety? Hope they think of that.
