OGO Oxygen Water

ogo

I have gotten a lot of things to try out because of my blog but I don’t think I have ever gotten anything like this… water. I came in today morning to find a box of OGO Oxygen Water on my desk. At first I thought it was a new client of ours but then I found out that a company who imports OGO to Kuwait wanted me to try it out and get my feedback on it.

According to the label and website, OGO water contains up to 35 times more oxygen then regular bottled water. What I was more interested in was the actual bottle. It reminded me of the magic potions Asterix and Obelix used to carry around with them which is a cool thing.

Anyway, if anyone is interested you can place an order by phone. Minimum 5 boxes, each box holds twelve 330ml bottles and costs KD6. So thats 500fils per bottle. The number to call is 4341209 or 7242595.

I remeber reading an article about oxyginated water and it mentioned that the stomach does not absorb oxygen, so the extra oxygen you would get from drinking this water is not even close to as much as taking a deeper breath once in a while, it aimed at saying its marketing BS…..

hey mark from can i get it i dont wanna buy the whole box its too much i just wanna buy 1 bottle to see how taste like.

Mark, Oxygenated water is a well-known scam. Here’s a clipping from the University of Pennsylvania Sports Medicine Department Newsletter:
University Park, Pa. — Recent hype by a company that its “super-oxygenated” water can boost athletic performance is just one more scam aimed at a gullible audience, says a recent issue of the Penn State Sports Medicine Newsletter.

Company literature touts the benefits of a certain “oxygen-enhanced” sports drink, which allegedly contains many times more oxygen than tap or or bottled water. However, the study on which the company’s claims are based has not been subject to peer review or published in any scientific journal.

“This is a case of pure fraud without a physiologic foundation,” says Howard G. Knuttgen, Ph.D., newsletter editor-in-chief and professor emeritus of kinesiology at Penn State. “Very little oxygen can be forced into water under pressure — less than that contained in a single breath.

“Most of the oxygen in the water would escape into the atmosphere when you open the container. Additional oxygen would be absorbed into the cells of intestinal walls. All of this would happen before any oxygen would reach the blood, much less the muscles.”

The exchange of gases that allows the body to take in and utilize oxygen is a function of the respiratory, not the digestive system. Thus, any intake of so-called super-oxygenated water would be of no use in improving athletic prowess, he says.

Knuttgen has some simple advice about super-oxygenated water: “Save your money.” He also questions the value of breathing pure oxygen from a canister, a practice followed by some athletes, usually football players.

“Any boost in performance from breathing pure oxygen would have to occur within seconds,” says the researcher. “By the time a player who inhales oxygen on the sideline gets into the game, any benefits would be lost. A distance runner, for instance, would have to carry the oxygen canister at all times to get any kind of positive effect. That would be impractical, even counterproductive.”

500 fils for a water
thats a stupid thing
the bottle is great i can buy one bottle and refill it from filter water (allah ye5alee may el filter)

People pay 500fils for a pack of cigs. and that doesnt seem to bother them, even though it kills them. So why the fuss over 500 fils towards a healthy, natural, oxyginated water? I Will buy and try it. Then make my mark..

Mark ..

i once saw an episode on 20/20 .. which talks about the trend in the US .. of bottled water companies and their increase in advertisements . and how their water is healthy and for sport activities ..

20/20 .. did an experiment .. they took samples of the most famous waters .. like Evian and Aquafina .and NY city tab water ,, and took the samples to a lab .. the lab guy said .. water is water .. if there is a slight different in the amount of minerals .. it wont effect much .. and not important ..

and then they had water samples in small cups .. given to the public .. with no names on the cups .. for the public to try and see which one tastes the best ..

amazingly .. the results came back like this ..

the best tasting water .. was NY city tab water..
and there were alot in the middle
the Last spot and the worst tasting water came back for EVIAN water ..

there was also scandal in the us some time ago dunno when, that made battled water in Fiji or something, their slogan was Water made in Fiji and not Cleveland or something like that. Anyways, turned out Fiji water had more arsenic than tap water in cleveland.

Moral of the story, dont always believe what the ads tell you. As other people mentioned here before, I fail to see how more oxygen in water will benefit the body system. Perhaps OGO can provide you with proven scientific research.

They should have made water with something like vitamins.

it looks cool but it’s massively overpriced and the bottle doesn’t fit into a regular car cupholder which makes it a bit annoying.
another classic case of style over substance, it’ll sell shitloads in kuwait.

If Kuwait really was a muslim state then they would outlaw this as 7aram based on the fact that they’re screwing over retards who actually buy it.
And under shari3a and all that stuff, making business transactions with retards is HARRAAAAM!!!

When water has to come in a fancy bottle to make it interesting, the government of Kuwait needs to take note and recognise that if this bottle was filled with VODKA instead, the residents of this country wouldn’t be forced to be so f*cking stupid as to get excited over – and pay for – a goddam bottle of crappy water.

And I thought Evian was expensive. Will this water actually make people younger or something? if so, I’ll consider having it after 20 years from now.

there is a difference between BOTTLED and MINERAL water ..

or in arabic .. mo3aba2a and Ma3daneyah ..

the difference ..is one natural .. and the other is manufactured water from the sea

awal shy 3ejbatne fekreta , coz I think human body ye7taj good amounts of oxgen

but !

we all know the water yetkawan men H2O

So , Eshloon this bottel have 35 X more oxygen ?

any explaining ?

ya3ne it have oxygen gas and it disappear when we open it : \

i dont think its expensive cause when eat out in any 4 star resturant u will pay 1 kd for abc water !!

anyway …i dont think this product will have future in kuwait cause they cant sell less than 5 boxes !!
how pepole will try it ??

I found this stuff at my local Gabriel Brothers. It had an original price of 34.99 on it, but I got it at the low cost of 2.00 per box. I had never heard of it, but thought that the bottles looked cool and even though they would not fit in my car cup holders atleast my kids thought they were neat and I would do anything to get them to drink more water. They only had the sparkling water ones. It was so nasty. I don’t drink sparkling water and did not realize the bitter taste they have. My girls dumped the water out and refilled it with our well water and put them in the fridge to chill. LOL!
They do like the bottles and are more excited to drink their waters though.
I would never pay as much for them as they are asking.

Although I am fully aware that the whole thing about oxygen being in the water and benefiting the health is a load of marketing crap, I bought a small plastic bottle as well as the big glass one. Why? Because I love the shape. I keep the glass one in my room now on my bedside table. The little one I refill with water and carry around with me in my giant purse. I do this a lot with creatively designed plastic bottles. I will continue to use it until the plastic gets all busted up or the taste begins to go bad. Then it’s on to the next adorable little bottle for me!

This product is a scam. Think about it, would a glass of water with 35 times more water really make your health improve that much? Now take a deep breath, I’m serious. Congratulations you just took in more oxygen then that bullshit product would ever give you 🙂
