I found out about this yesterday and it completely caught me by surprise. OSN now has their own version of Hulu! If you’re an OSN customer you can register and sign up on their website and then stream movies and tv shows online. How cool is that?
You don’t watch the shows live instead they’re on-demand similar to Hulu. You find the show you want and just start watching it. Right now they have a pretty good collection of content online and I’m sure their library is going to grow with time as well.
I didn’t have any streaming problems and the interface is pretty good with the ability to watch the videos in full screen mode or in a window. You can also turn subtitles on and off for those that need it.
The funny thing is I’m used to watching videos on Hulu using a US based VPN but if you do that with OSN Play you’ll be turned away in a similar way Kuwait internet users get turned away from Hulu.

Yeah I was really shocked! OSN is advancing lol. Now to get this working on iPads.
FYI: The reason Hulu doesn’t work in Kuwait is specifically so OSN can operate their own streaming service here 😛 the rights are regional. The problem is a lot of companies never actually take the rights for ME or use it.

Yeah i’ve seen them advertise this service a lot recently. They called me recently with an amazing offer: 5KD for a second Platinum HD Plus subsricption plus a Showbox HD decoder for an extra, one time fee of 14KD (optional).

everyone on the first 1st gen. showbox were given two showboxes (with DVR) and two cards; and they only pay for one subscription.

I think the offer still stands. Give them a call and ask for it. Tell them they should have called you and offered this deal.
We’ve been customers since the “showtime & orbit days” in the late 90’s , the only thing we got from those two was complete pile of shit lol .

I prefer OSN on Demand. Why would I watch stuff on my PC/Laptop when I can see them on my superior 50″ TV?
With on demand you don’t have everything plus you’re stuck to your tv. With play u can watch it in bed, on the balcony, on the beach, at the airport and even in a different country…
Even better when they release an app for it.
Just found out you can only register two devices. If you want to change a device you have to wait 60 days.

Because you won’t be at home if you’re watching it. It’s meant for people who want to stream something who aren’t next to their TVs. Someone above mentioned they’ll port it to phones which would be nice. Bored? Watch OSN!
I am pretty impressed with it however i found some minor impulses that i would like to change like the quality of certain movies as they are low quality which really lags the whole experience.
That’s awesome! I’m glad to see so many people excited by this announcement. My employer, DISH, has almost the same thing without the social platform integration. They have a website called DISH Online with content available on demand and apps for smartphones and tablets. I have used it and love it so I’m sure all the OSN customers will love the OSN version. Mark has it right; it’s going to be amazing

Now if I only had an internet connection fast enough to stream videos, this would be great. It takes me 15 minutes of buffering to watch a 2 minute youtube video.
There are a lot of options if you need a faster connection, if your area can’t support faster DSL than there’s always Zain or WiMID
