There is a local website called Photo Lenders which rents out photography equipment like lenses and cameras for reasonable prices. This concept isn’t new since it already exists in the States but it’s still great that someone decided to set up something similar in Kuwait. I’m sure all the local photographers are going to appreciate this and I’m personally waiting for them to start renting out cameras as well. Check out the website [Here]

Thank you, Mark. Will spend the rest of the day browsing their website π
It would be nice if they get the big Canon IS Telephotos…the 300mm 2.8L, 400mm 2.8L, 500 and 600mm 4.0L’s.
They got some pretty good lenses! I’m happy they started off with Canon! I hope they have the quantity to satisfy the availability!
It’s amazing, I’m thinking I’ll need to rent some equipment now that there is such a renting for cameras. Creative !!! renting will make it a beautiful experience.
Thanks for posting this! I hope they have a Nikon 70-200 2.8 π
I actually wanted to rent 5D Mark II but its only Accessories on their website π
i emailed the owner and he said he will be adding the canon 5d and 7d to the website
This is good news! Thanks for bringing this up!
Great share Mark..Thanks
We neeeded it !
It’s gonna be so much easier to decide what lenses to buy if you can try them out for a day or 2 ..
Thanks alot Mark & Photo lenders dude π
My colleague said he called to inquire and the person on the other end of the line told him it is initially for Kuwaitis only. If that is true, then we expats might be needing some “wasta” to rent from them.
I hope that’s not true or else I wouldn’t have posted about him. I wouldn’t support a company that discriminates based on nationality. I’ve emailed the owner to ask him about this.
The owner emailed me back and said it’s not true. They do not discriminate and they rent to anyone no matter what nationality as long as they have a civil id card. So your friend is spreading incorrect information.
Actually he said even if u don’t have a civil Id card they would still rent u the lens except they have to take a deposit instead.
Then thats great news especially for us photographers on a budget. I would have to re-check with my friend about his info.
Thanks Mark for clarifying that.
Dude.. You should’ve checked before posting looool doesn’t feel good now does it ;p
Finally can stop being jealous of borrowlenses.com! Great find. Canon lenses cost less, perhaps that’s why they started with Canon.
Thats great news. Thanks for the post.. I wish they had the 85mm f/1.2 USM II as I need to compare its sharpness to the version I have.
we just added the 85 1.2 .. you can compare the sharpness now π
I have tried on 2 occasions by filling out the rental request on their website, 2 months ago.. and no reply, I also heard that they do not rent to foreigners, and being an American it was really interesting to be blown off. But anyways I went out and purchased all the lenses I needed.
hi, this is the management of photolenders.com ..
1- we didn’t receive any orders that we “blew off” thats not correct ..
2- if you submitted orders on mobile there sometimes problems.
3- have you even tried to call to inform us with your problem before accusing us?!
4- we have a lot of foreigner customers and I’m happy to let you speak with them.. they like us and they are returned customers..
thank you for addressing this issue but next time speak to us so we can solve your problem..
