The Talabat Story

hungry

Last week the local food delivery company Talabat was sold for KD50,000,000 making it the largest purchase of an internet company in the Middle East to date. I think everyone (including me) was shocked with the acquisition, at least with the price it got sold for so I thought I would share an interesting article that talks about the sale as well as how Talabat started. Check it out [Here]

For the first time, Kuwait contributes to the world something other than crude oil. I am proud of the people who made this happen.

First time?

Kuwait’s LISTED companies have a market cap of almost $100 billion (Down from almost $200 billion, but still) This is without counting the massive, massive multinationals that are still privately owned. For a country with 1 million citizens Kuwait’s companies have a surprising reach, you should be proud of other contributors as well.

The original founder, as important as he is but he was not the one behind the success and value of the company today. He gets credit for the idea, true, but the last owner who gave it vision, strategy & tool to grow and become what it’s worth today should make it on the news!

That’s true. People say the founder sold it for much less and yeah he did, but he also didn’t turn it into what it is today.
