Better looking taxis

Is it just me or does anyone else dislike the color of our current taxi’s (pictured above)?. I hate the beige and white combo and it really doesn’t add any life or color to the Kuwaiti cityscape.

On the other hand I love the color of the old taxis with the bright orange paintwork(pictured above). They’ve got more personality and when you see a group of them together its very colorful.

So why don’t we apply the orange color on the current taxis? New York have the yellow cabs, London the black cabs and we could have our orange cabs again.

We would love nothing more than to change the color of our Taxi’s, but for the Jawal the government has chosen that color scheme and its up to them on whether they change it or not.

Mark, have u ever been in one of these cars ?? my car broke down once and i had 2 take one all the way back 2 ahmadi and i was not able 2 breath the entire trip because of the weird smells, i don’t know if that applies to most of them, but i guess it can’t get better. i know they might look bad on the outside but i think we need a classier type of taxi, ones that might coast more, but are elegant, decent and odorless šŸ˜›

kuwait must own a government Taxi and Bus company that belongs to kuwait government because its getting out of control

Like UAE and Qatar

It’s a great idea. The sand\white cabs are so mono-colored with the Kuwaiti landscape.

Old is gold, and also a bit nostalgic. I’m all for bringing back the orange šŸ™‚

I totally agree with PedroDashT,
Taxi service here is horrible.
The taxi drivers have there own rate nobody uses the meter inside which is practically ripping off customers.

Hey Mark – whatever happened to the pink (ladies) taxis?

I won’t take these little shetty tan/white taxis. Can’t dwell on the smell. The only time I need to take a taxi is when I’m coming back from the States and I don’t have a ride; then I just exit stage right and take a KGL “limo”.

BTW, you can get a KGL stretch limo from the airport to most locations in Kuwait for 20KD. Kind of cool if you are trying to impress someone special who is visiting.

I have seen some of the pink taxis in Rai collecting dust, so I guess it didn’t work out. Not surprising! I think it was somewhere near Ace Hardware.

The orange taxi’s are only for kuwaities mitqa3deen “retired”, notice how they are usally old cars. They are different to distinguish them from private company ones, same goes with the airport taxes.

If only there was a like button for facebook man would this go viral in kuwait and perhaps attract authorities’ attention!

Hahaha never seen them before. But, this is a share button not a like button :/ I hope you add one in the future! šŸ˜€

Orange would be nice šŸ™‚ Not just for the contrast against the “beige” cityscape, at least for people to notice them during sandstorms. Does orange have any political indications in Kuwait? šŸ˜‰

Nice post. But the use of apostrophes to signal a plural is wrong.

Why is it “taxi’s”? Apostrophe in this sense is for possessive (ie The one taxi’s color is nice).

Well.. yes white and beige is too dual and boreing..

Actually in kuwait we miss greenery.. so I think.. they should replace beige with Green…
A White and Green.. would look much better

Why not do something really radical and build a new airport and a metro and start recycling ….. Now that would really make a difference rather than changing the colour of the taxis!

When I was in Iraq, I saw a LOT of 1990 Caprices painted bright orange with the Al Ghanim emblems on the back. Lots of families driving them. I guess they stole the new ones before they painted them as taxis.
