Bollywood film shot in Kuwait

I heard about this movie awhile back and just watched the trailer now. The movie is called “Kahin Na Kahin Milenge” and its the first Bollywood movie made in Kuwait. I am not sure if I got the story straight since the trailer is in Indian but I think its about this Indian girl who grew up in Kuwait and moved back to India and became a famous actress but then decided to move back to Kuwait because its her home? I could be wayyy off here so please correct me if I am wrong. [YouTube]

honestly, this movie retarded from go! I guess the title means ” we will meet someplace or the other” ?! These actors are usually seen in bombed movies and none of them were ever cast in successful block busters. The lead actress & actor are both noobs & terrible (acting & looks). You’ll find them both in some softcore pron movie very soon. The music is borderline fucked up & the storyline is messed as well. So basically this movie is like the cheesiest of cheesy bolly flicks.

You guys are better off watching those badly censored Hollywood movies than this crap. jeez! I wonder why ppl make such crap.

umm, I think I just watched the whole movie from that trailer. Also, whatsup with the exaggerated story about their love to Kuwait? couldn’t they come up with a better storyline? I think the director is doing some ass kissing for the Kuwaiti passport haha!

this movie is gna be a HUGE FLOP in india, people there do not even know WHat kuwait is. u tell them ur from kuwait thel go like ” wht? is kuwait an area in dubai or something” its one of those low budget shitty movies, its like an insult to indian movies cuz to be honest, many of the indian movies these days are actually very amazing!

Damn! That was one long trailer !! Definitely a low budget movie, shot on some handheld camera, not the camera’s they use for regular movies.

Haven’t seen the movie yet, but I don’t think there would be much in the movie that isn’t already in the trailer. Bad music, poor storyline. But I suppose lots of Indian nationals who have been in Kuwait for a long time could probably relate to it.

The cast is mostly unknown, except for 1 or 2 actors, but they aren’t that great either.

Haha, The dancing in the middle was hilarious !!

Still sort of interesting to see Kuwait featured in a bollywood movie.

Stafa, I was born and raised in Kuwait. I love kuwait. A lot of kuwaitis are d*cks towards Indians, and even though I might be American now, I still love Kuwait. Home is where you spent all that time. That is probably what the movie is based on. There are many Indians who are born and raised in Kuwait, like me, and they love Kuwait. I want to go back to Kuwait, but not for a Kuwaiti passport. I could give two hoots about it, but I want to go and see all the places I was at, and where I played as a little child. Dont worry, for a Kuwaiti passport isnt of much value.

wow this is a seriously fucked up film, i gotta see it!
It’s like some twilight zone propaganda shit from mars wtffffffffffffffffffffffffff is there a fight sequence with 3agad vs hindi drivers vs sa3eedi’s?

Dj Hams it aint clear whether ur dissing kuwait or complimenting it?

have a backbone and say one or the other

Well that’s rich. People dismissing the movie, and ignorantly so. This is not a high budget hollywood movie. No kidding. Like we didn’t know?
But people have to start somewhere. This concept of “starting somewhere” is foreign to so many people in Kuwait, which is sad really. A movie isn’t just about actors, it’s about content. Talk about mainstream sheep. Ever heard of the Cannes film festival?

And about them overdoing their love for Kuwait? haha wth, we’re even going to complain about the good things? atleast it’s not hating on Kuwait, after all the abuse of “some” expatriates get and the general racism that goes around. Sheesh have we dodged bullet.

Kuwaiti not much value? All I have to say is, you don’t know what you don’t have.

Safi he is talking about the passport ya 7abeebi, don’t take it out of context.

I have met many people who fell in love with Kuwait by just visiting. As a Kuwaiti, I think it is nice. Our country is considered a home-away-from-home to a lot of people.

All I have to say is 7ayakom Allah and Ahlan wa sahlan…and let us all take care of the place that we all love the most πŸ™‚

This movie is unheard of in India….This movie is for release only in Kuwait cos’ no Indian distributor or exhibitor will ever touch it!!!!

DJ hams is stating facts…Not every expatriate does something with a selfish intention. Home is where the heart is..no matter how shitty this place can be in terms of menatlities some of us do love it uncondiitionally.

The movie was made aon a small budget hence the low profiled actors. I think rather than being critical about the whole thing..appreciating the directors choice of subject given his limited resources would be better. Oh and btw i think choosing to shoot the movie here should also be appreciated…after all how many people would actually choose this place as a film shooting destination.

The only reason I love Kuwait is cause my Fiance is Kuwaity and other than that I prefer a different free actions and openminded where no one interferes in others life ..Like ( usa )

tweez ya 6ayib, you don’t have to tell me about context. I know very well that he was talking about the passport.

Nand, not everything needs to be big. Indie movies exist, that doesn’t mean they all suck.

This movie is “C Grade ” tripe.
It is unwatchable and destined for the the celluloid bin.
Every Indian film is not a “Bollywood production” either.

Synopsis of Kahin Na Kahin Milenge:
The film is based on expatriates leaving their hometown and working abroad. The story mainly revolves around a father- daughter relationship

Mr. Rajveer Malhotra (Kiran Kumar), an NRI (Non-Resident Indian) staying in Kuwait for over 25 years, a well-known businessman and a humble person, loves his only daughter Joyee (Manisha Kelkar) more than anything else in the world.

There comes a day in Mr. Rajveer’s life and one fine day he decides to leave Kuwait for good. But Joyee refuses to go back with her dad. The story takes a twist and a question is raised: Should the father go back to his country or stay back with his daughter in Kuwait? Should the daughter leave the decision to her dad or decide on the country of her own choice?

Is there a Kuwaiti financier behind this project?
For the riffraff on mainland India who are actually into B-rated Bollywood flicks(no pun intended) Kuwait is an unknown commodity. To them, it will seem as though the film is shot in Dubai or its cousin Abu Dubai (as they like calling it in India) πŸ™‚
At best the Indian expat community may get their friends and relatives back home to watch it for Kuwait’s sake.

Thanks Nand for clearing that up.I was just thinking why anyone who made it big outside Kuwait, would want to come back here.

The movie was made primarily as a way to make money. No script, very little plot, false advertising, collected several thousand dinars for an incense lighting ceremony, bad camera work…etc. The were like 15 people on the marketing staff for the movie when it was raising funds in Kuwait…

hot, hell like weather such as kuwait OR beautiful tropical full of wild life country like india…………..Hmmmmm thats a tough one!!!

Im arab, born and raised in Kuwait. Not one day I felt that Kuwait is my home. Bil3aks, I found that living in q8 was quite an agony, with all the racist BS surrounding every corner. And all them crazy loonies on the road ready to step out of the car and beat you just because you over took their lane!

In the early 90’s if u shaved your moustache that meant your gay! If you grow your hair long that meant your fafi! Locals there have no clue what expats feel having to live in their country just because their parents migrated there. I’m glad i’m out and hope to never return.

Oh, movie sucks di@k by the way.

whteva…thank you for understanding what I was trying to say. I am Indian by origin. I was born and raised in Kuwait. I moved to the USA after 18 years and am American. But I will love kuwait. Why? Not because Kuwaitis called me “hindiyas” and various insulting stereotypes that come with it (even though both my parents worked at hospitals, we kept getting called laborers a lot). But after all those insults, I will love Kuwait. Some kuwaitis are bad, but many are nice. I learned a lot because of kuwait, and Kuwait is the country that fed my family and me. I am in the USA now, but I will love kuwait. When I am here, I still tell people about Kuwait, because those are my memories. I still want to go back to Kuwait. And yes, not all expats come to kuwait for selfish needs. My great grandparents, my grandparents, my parents and I were in Kuwait! We have been in Kuwait for a long long time, but we are indians by origin. We are Indians (now Americans) that love Kuwait.

I am shocked by the huge amount of hatred in the comment in this post.
I find it disgusting.

funny thing is tht kuwaitis think all indians are poor, cant afford a good lifestyle, what thye dont know is how much money some of us have here in kuwait, lifestyles of many indians are of very high standard we just dont go about bragging about in in marina.
trust me guys, ul be amazed at how much money some, sorry MANY indians have here. we own and run some of the biggest businesses in kuwait, providing jobs to many kuwaitis, did uguys know tht villa moda isn owned by an indian? Kitco chips are owned by an indian? Aston martin, the dealer ehre is an indian?kuwait auto parts and many other HUGE busineses are owned by indans.

im constantly amazed by the stupidity of ppl – which i am confronted by day in and day out in Kuwait. yes yes i know – GTFO – whatever.

Not only in Kuwait , in any country including the states, when u sh!t where u eat , they will tell u to GTFO, when we see all this amount of hatred , what do u expect other than a kick on the A$$

Pranav
With all due respect… This is the FIRST time I know Villa Moda is owned by Indians! (https://zawya.com/cm/profile.cfm/cid1002268/Villa%20Moda%20Lifestyle/ricVILLAMODA.KSE) The word “India” is not even mentioned in the above link… not even in the ownership structure!!

I respect Indians, and I have worked with them and made friends with them. Who am I to think I am superior to them… .but saying such things make me wonder where you are getting your info from!!!!!!!

Senorita – The guy is not wrong. An Indian business in Kuwait was a major partner in Villa Moda for many years and kept a low profile. They recently divested their share to DIFC just before the economic meltdown. Shrewd move.

Pranav!! Aston Martin dealer was AlGhannam and not its Dar Alistithmar! Its called Aston Martin MENA for a reason (Middle East and North Africa) Tell me the name of the Indian dealer please!? I am interested to know πŸ™‚

Wow. this is just a horrible c-grade movie made in Hindi. u cant even call it a bollywood movie. Dont even get me started on the ridiculous song.
For those of you who have never seen a bollywood movie before and would like to do so, ill give you a list of movies you should watch, before u base your opinion on Bollywood. Dont watch this as your first.

@ Parnav

Emotional Outbursts = Foot in Mouth. To your credit yes there are a lot of Indian Famalies here in Kuwait who are filthy rich and part own booming buisnesses. Yes I said Part Own coz unlike in the rest of the world; in Kuwait no expat can own any property or any buisness of their own they can only own 49 % the rest belongs to the Kuwaiti Partner

@ Mathai

Making wild claims is a self defense mechanism for most Indians.???

Is that kinda like getting all hot under the collar, screaming their heads off and waving their arms all over the place is a self defense mechanism for most arabs.???

@Parnav, lol ! nice description of Arabs πŸ˜€ .
’bout what I said earlier, I know a lot of (insecure??) people who start shooting out statistics about “how many Indians work in Microsoft, NASA, UN, WHO, UNICEF, How many billionaires on the Forbes list blah blah blah” when they are confronted with any criticism about India or Indians. Its like they HAVE TO PROVE that Indians are big players in the global scene. As for me, I dont have to prove it, I know it and so do most people. So you dont have to spend energy shouting about who owns Aston Martin πŸ˜›

still laughing at “Is that kinda like getting all hot under the collar, screaming their heads off and waving their arms all over the place is a self defense mechanism for most arabs.???”

^^ well said ‘security adviser’…tht part about kuwaitis having to own majority of the shares..i think thts where ‘pranav’ got it wrong. because it is the kapico group holding who are the aston martin dealers in kuwait, the co. wch is owned by the Alghannams AND the indian family Handas in partnerhsip. the handas are the board members too. just requires some googling. πŸ™‚

sooo u see ‘mathai’ pranav wasnt making wild claims aftr all. he just wasnt stating facts the right way.

and abt the movie,,,im indian n at first look i just thought…oook a low budget movie with shakti kapoor in the lead! thts gona be a lil embarassing to talk abt back home. not many ppl i knw do appreciate indie movies. but then again u have to start somewher.

@ Security Adviser and Girl next door, I meant the “Jai Hind” emails with stats like 50% of Nasa, Lockheed Martin etc workforce are Indians. Dont tell me you havent seen them (and even forwarded them πŸ˜› )

Whatever the movie is about.. What ever it is, it’s made and done with. Watch it if you people want to, or save ur breath!

Off subject (slightly) – Indians can be annoying if the accent is deep and thick, add a bit of head bopping and thats it!! Game over!

ur igniting another baseless argument! I suppose u dont have an ” accent” when u speak english..! sheeesh..get a life dude! πŸ˜€

Ansam, Aston Martin was owned by Alghannam not Alghanim. Was being the keyword. When Dar Al Istithmar foolishly bought Aston Martin (the mother company), the now took away the agency from Alghannam. And they are the agents for Aston Martin Kuwait and MENA.

I love Kuwait.

Hope one day racism and stereotyping would disappear! By the way all the people talking about how all Kuwaitis stereotype don’t you realize that you’re stereotyping the Kuwait citizens by thinking of us in that way. Anyways, just to assure you not many Kuwaiti people are like that. PEACE and keep on loving people!

I think countries like Kuwait or the States for that matter have been lazy and have preferred to give away work to Indians for ages now. So, do not complain if the servant of the past is not that working class any more. And now there are no jobs left for the actual inhabitants.

whoa!! what a wide variety of topics u ppl managed to hit upon & argue upon out here…. im an indian born n raised in q8….on the subject of movies…..i think 90% of indian movies honestly suck d*ck….i only watch hollywood movies….but there are some indian movies which r called non mainstream movies which are really good. quite like hollywood movies…without the crappy songs, dancin n runnin around trees…. these are more realistic n i never understand why these movies are not appreciated back home and not promoted abroad…..try watchin movies like “dil chahta hai” or “vastav”….there are many more…

on the other subjects…..well u have haters everywhere….however i dont blame *SOME* arabs or kuwaitis for having the kind of impression they have of indians or hating them or being racist…..some indians do act like absolute idiots and actually ask for it…..but then again, not all indians are the same….we have a friggin population of over 1 bill. there are lots of other flavors of indians….decent, classy, rich watever u want….

having said that, no human….indian or otherwise no matter what they are deserves to be treated like crap…..cuz what goes around comes around…..how are some arabs treated n discriminated when they are in the US or UK? just the same….

bottom line….there are a lot of good hearted kuwaitis or out there….im sure most are….but as humans we tend to brand a particular race based on a few bad apples…

and bout kitco n villa moda n aston martin come guys….who really cares…dont matter if we own it or run it or how much share they hv….just be proud dat we hv ppl in boeing, nasa, microsoft, dell, a hell lot n i mean a hell lotta docs n engineers in US n all over the world….we also hv cheap labor lol.

A very good movie, I saw it on Monday at Avenues, House pack, I recommend people to watch this film than watching any other Hindi film. Very good message for Kuwaitis and expects.

Love
Fatma Al-Anezi

Guys u people r lucky to watch the SHOWREEL it’s not a THRILLER, it clearly says tht it’s an SHOWREEL made for distubution purpose mayb some one posted it up here by mistake.

Well we love Kuwait, but saying this and that about India isnt correct while most thing we eat here is from India so in general Indians contributed big time in Kuwait’s developments by all manners so please dont forget that, and MATHAI why Indians cant talk about most number of scientists in NASA are Indians or Microsoft or Sun or google or any other major companies in the world are being run by Indians why not?
you know who makes the largest number of Movies in the world?
in Kuwait most Kuwaitis watch Indian Movies and they love it so why cant we talk about it?
i just cant understand if we somethign to proud on why wont we talk about it?

here is the answer: Some people cant digest India’s Progress India becoming super power is just not acceptable to some they will only talk negative about India, slums and all that but you wont see the progress India has made in last decade or so, you wont see that US is forced exempt India from NPT for clearing the N-Deal and lot many so please my humble request accept the truth.
