Don’t wish me a Merry Christmas

Saw a picture of poster on Hanan’s blog taken in Kaifan today. Basically the poster tells Muslims not to wish Christians a Merry Christmas. Now while checking Digg I also found an article by the Herald Tribune on this issue, about how some Muslim extremist are telling people not to wish Christians a Merry Christmas. I found this all very depressing. If Muslims are being advised not to wish us a Merry Christmas then I doubt they will be legalizing alcohol anytime soon…

Here is a link to Hana’s blog with the poster

Im 100% against having alcahol in kuwait. and im not even an extremist. without alcahol and people are getting harassed, followed and annoyed… i know its their and its available ..but still its not available to the masses πŸ˜‰ and its way to expensive for the masses .. when its legalized it will just be a big mess .. in my opinion alcahol shouldnt be legalized in kuwait yet everyone knows its available. to prove my point.. go to marina mall on a thursday night.. around 6 to 8 .. and imagine that with alcahol ..

lol it’s funny how they made it into an xmas poster with like xmas colours and stuff.

we have to find this and write MERRY XXXMAS on it.

Merry Xmas to you, your family and anyone who wants to celebrate Xmas.

Let them digest this with their next meal of hatred and narrow mindedness.

Funny! Americans & Brits (mostly Christians) were the only ones who could save these ungrateful morons from extinction and as I say this , they are trying to get rid of Kuwait’s worst enemy. How come these clowns didn’t put up a similar poster way back in 91 ?

Mark ..

bs dont take this personal from me .. and hate me .. but please keep an open mind ..

1. this poster isnt from muslim extermist .. its from the National Union of kuwait students , and mostly they represent the ( ekhwan muslimeen ) party

2. what they are saying is that , the pope said bad things about our prophet and islam ,

3. what does Merry Christmas means exactly ?

if it means celebrating the Birth of Jesus ( God to you ) ,
then by saying Merry christmas its like celebrating God’s birth and believing that there is a 2nd god , which is called ( el sherk ) … and its #1 cause of blasphamy ( to us muslims ) , and It also contradicts with Sorat el Ekhla9 in the holy quran which says ( Allah did not give birth , nor he was Born ) ..

so for my fellow muslims , please dont think its just plain ignorance and just be liberal in our thoughts and our religion , these things arent a joke and our prophet said ( becareful of the words u say , even if you said a word as a joke and you completly forgot about it , this word may lead you 70 years fall in hell )

and again , please mark , dont take it personal and think i am an extremist or anything and hate me

Mark,
Can you please give me directions for the dog’s beach. If you do reply please give directions for dummys, thanks. I might of missed your previous blog (Sorry). In the mean time have a blissful Christmas.

Regards

Rosa

Looool K!

Man its just what these guys are trying to do! Anti everything seems to be the in thing at this point! What I want to know is who decides their marketing campaigns! Instead of tackling real issues they want to advertise that they are bigots and intolerant! How sad that we have reached this point!

To all our Christian Brothers & Sisters out there,A very Merry Christmas to all.We must keep the faith of respecting other’s believes. It is the only way to defeat extereem thoghts. One is not a True believer in Islam unless he believes in Jesus & his Mother Marry .

If Christians were to put up posters in Britain next week telling their fellow Christians not to wish Muslims a Eid Mubarak, I wonder how many Christians would wind up dead, or how many embassies would get burned down, or how many buses would get bombed, or how many children would get trampled under mass hysteria demonstrations. These Islamists can dish it out, but they can’t take it. Hypocrisy and ignorance make a dangerous combination.

MERRY CHRISTMAS TO EVERYONE WHO BELIEVES IN PEACE, LOVE, AND HAPPINESS!!! To everyone else, enjoy your own misery.

I bet this is not the first time we’ve seen such a thing being passed around on campus or anywhere else and recently you’ll even find them stuck on your car’s windshield, it’s sad! What a waste of money and time …

Many times I’ve seen them plastered in lifts too, I know they’re intended to hurt other religions so I’d throw them away without a second thought.

Don’t let this depress you on christmas.

Merry belated christmas to you and Nat.

Merry Christmas all… and this aint the first time they put this stuff in newspapers they publish this ‘dont wish anyone a merrychristmas’ every year for the last like 10 years.

To Financy, ad please do not get upset… YOU ARE TOTALY WRONG… We do beleive in Jesus christ… Christmas is not about whether he is the son of god or not,, it is about his birth. We should celebrate it, the same way we celebrate the birth of Prophet Mohammed…

The “don’t wish Christians a merry Christmas” rhetoric is quite prevalent in Saudi. And as a response, I would absolutely have to say: Merry Christmas to all Christian brothers and sisters.

A little late in the day….but still merry christmas to all.

Today occasions like christmas have a larger social connotation than a religious one. so whoever wants to go against this on religious grounds has a totally different view of the world. and it is better to ignore these narrow minded people & enjoy christmas & the new year.

Financy,
Al a3mal bil niyat.. and even if it is the day jesus was born.. for us jesus is a profit.. and we celebrate the day he was born.. we all love jesus each in his on way.. so Merry christams all.. the day jesus (the profit) was born..

I, personally, would have gone to the site and ripped it down. No one’s going to tell me what I can or cannot say in my own country.

(Sadly I am out of Kuwait for a few days)

As Muslims, we also believe in Jesus and I personally see no harm in wishing Christians on the day of his birth.

At the end of the day, it is the intentions that count.

Merry Christmas! (albeit a day late)

Merry Xmas, Happy Chanukah ( I don’t know howu spell it), Happy Kwanza, Happy eid !! SCREW RACISM and ethocentrism

let’s go right now and shit all over these posters who’s with me?
i’ll tear one and wipe my arse with it then give it to a ‘dear student”

(forget about that am a muslim). As a medical student. From my “medical” point of view.. am totally against mild-moderate-severe alcohol consumption in kuwait or ANY country!

back to the topic. MERRY CHRISTMAS! πŸ™‚

hey Mark, hey Nat..MARRY CHRISTMAS πŸ™‚
just act as if they DONT EXIST! coz to a lot of SANE ppl the simly dont!
“Al kilabo tanba7, wa alqafila taseer”!!

2 Facts:
1- Islam don’t celebrate the birth of Mohamed its “haram” to celebrate any event except the 2 “Eids”, birthdays of prophets or people is strictly “haram”, even though its a national holiday.

2- Christians do believe that jesus is “the son of god” and they celebrate the day god had a son AKA the “merry Christmas” phrase and so on.

i think if Muslims decide not to say that phrase because they are only doing what there religion told them to do and there not being “insensitive” or anything .

thats like saying if you don’t eat pork you’re not being “sensitive” to other Christians.

hope that helps…

Say I tell people not to say happy christmas to others…it doesn’t make me an Islamist extremist! I could be a Jew – who doesn’t believe in Jesus – and not want my kids to “believe in Jesus or Christmas” and so teach them not to say it!
Not saying Happy Christmas doesn’t mean that they are going to kill Christians…it just means they don’t believe in Christmas…and that it is an insult to their beliefs and intelligence to do otherwise. Why? Because:
1) Jesus was not born on that day.
2) They don’t celebrate the Prophet Muhammad’s bday, so why should they Jesus (and they believe in both)
3) Christmas is “the celebration of the birth of the son of God”. Muslims believe God does not have any human attributes whatsoever…thus he does not become a father.
4) Jesus was not born in a manger (Muslims believe)
5) Muslims do not believe there were three kings/Magi who came from afar etc…
And the actual concept of not congratulating is a very normal thing…
I mean talk about stupidity when I see some of the comments the more “open-minded” kuwaitis wrote! Big deal, I am happy for Christians to be happy – but why should I say something I don’t believe in?!

Mark and Nat and everyone else out there whatever your religion may be: Merry Christmas and Happy New Year and Happy Eid and for k the kuwaiti Happy Kwanzaa!
I cant believe that in this day and age monkeys can get away with putting up posters like that.I swear, while the rest of the world is progressing,us arabs are totally regressing back to cave men days with beards and all!

That is the problem ,I tried to explain this thing that it is wrong to celebrate xmas on anayah blog and as always the liberal marzouq and fonzy got pissed as hell .I am glad that at least some muslims have some knowledge of why one should not wish christmas to others.Mark, you are christian and you have full right to follow your religious values but asking us to do may not be the right thing.

Some of us so called progressive muslims are going to sell your selves to others too just to be show that you are a part of the main stram.
arablonder- You have definitely put the right stuff for everybody to see.Let me use the reference from Quran for all of you guys.
Surah 19-Verse 88-89
“And they say: “The Most Beneficent (AllΓ’h) has begotten a son (or offspring or children) [as the Jews
say: ‘Uzair (Ezra) is the son of AllΓ’h, and the Christians say that He has begotten a son [‘Iesa (Christ)
>>], and the pagan Arabs say that He has begotten daughters (angels, etc.)].”
“Indeed you have brought forth (said) a terrible evil thing.”

Now tell me how can you greet christmas greeting to non-muslims when this is the worst thing you have uttered. If any of muslims still thinks its ok ,then Allah be with you and guide you in the right direction.
