E-Gate is a practical new app which allows you to check on your Civil ID status, your traffic violations, if you have a travel ban or not and other things like passport and residency validity.
There are three features I liked about the app, the first being that it will remember your Civil ID so you don’t have to keep entering it every time. The other thing I liked is the ability to add more than one Civil ID to the app and finally I liked that the app does push notifications. In the short time I used the app I didn’t get any notifications but in theory you should get notified anytime there is any new status update for example you get a travel ban or a traffic violation.
The only negative aspect is the fact the app costs $1.99 and isn’t free. But that’s a small price to pay for the convenience this app provides. It’s available for both iOS and Android. Search for E-Gate Kuwait to find it or if you’re an iOS user here is the direct [Link]
Update: Do not download this app. The app no longer works unless you agree to send adverts to your friends.

i found this, i dunno if it is the same or not https://www.windowsphone.com/en-kw/store/app/egate/df4531e9-9314-4af8-a911-a66b0fa9883e
Unofficial app you say? Great way for the app owners to collect your private data.
Private data!!! For God Sake
like what? my civil ID # or my date of birth!!!
Let him take it as long as he made this change,
the e-Gov. that we heard lots of promises about it for long time did not make this service
Your civil ID number is all it takes to access many e-government services. e-government services are insecure, they don’t even use SSL to encrypt your data.
It’s up to you.
I agree, but its worthless, also who will waste his time to hack government systems huh!!? and for what!!! the guys at the gov. sector actually do not have any valuable info, what do u think? tell me maybe you know better…
Civil services, paci, and both major educational organizations (PAAET & Kuwait university) depend on the civil id number for authentication. (There was, and probably still is, an obvious bug in KUs website that allows anyone to link student IDs to civil ID numbers).
Aside from using laugh-then-cry password defaults or even leaving them open for anyone to set, both can be used to make someone’s life very unpleasant.
Mass collection of civil information coupled with a governmental system that uses it as the sole method of user authentication is a recipe for disaster.
Don’t dismiss such threats so lightly when you clearly don’t know enough information about them.
:))) thanks rashid for elaboration.
I feel bad for the Poor PAAET & KUs students,
قلنالكم خل نطلع
Thanks for the elaboration. I know giving your Civil ID to some 3rd party is asking for trouble, I just could not think of any examples of possible damage because I rarely use any online government services due to their insecurity.
Here is one example:

Cancel your driving license reservation by entering a civil id number.
+1 for mentioning SSL-less websites.
And they want people to use “e-gov” services…
The App worth more than 2 $
Congrats for the owners
Nice to see such a useful app 🙂
Being unofficial app, I hope the government won’t try to stop it..
instead, better government do something better!
i can’t seem to find it on the play store. has anyone downloaded it on android yet?
Thanks a lot once again! That is quite a useful app and I am happy using it now!
Mark, I guess, the guy on the radio today was reading the exact same words what you have written here about the app 😀
The app isn’t on the Play Store as of now at least!
Im unable to locate it on my iOs. Using Zain services. Went into Appstore …In vain. Whats the dealio?
Does it allow you to pay the fines through the app?
no
EGATE? This is not egate as it stands in the rest of the GCC. Are you re-inventing the wheel again? EGATE involves special equipment at the airport where residents can enter a country utilizing a networked database, thus minimizing the queues in immigration. The UAE, Qatar, Bahrain, Oman all have EGATE. EGATE secures borders and would is a convenient way for residents to go through immigration. Call this something else, but NOT egate.
To pay fines through you mobile, access: https://portal.acs.moi.gov.kw/wps/portal/violations (its mobile optimized).
