I passed by Napket tonight at the Avenues for dinner although I was hesitant at first. Over the weekend when I found the place open and I tried to take a picture of the place from the outside the manager of Napket wouldn’t let me which pissed me off and then I read a lot of negative stuff about their service on the Kuwait & Food Facebook group so that also put me off. But I decided to put that all aside and try the place myself.
The place looks really great, probably one of my favorite restaurant interiors in Kuwait and they definitely have my favorite outdoor terrace. I started checking their sandwiches, Nataly their salad when we were approached by a waiter who asked us what we wanted to have. I decided to go with The NY Thing which was kinda like a club sandwich while Nataly decided to go with this wrap I forgot what it was called but it had shrimps and watercress. We then went and sat down outside near their small fountain which overlooks the big Avenues one.
The food arrived shortly there after and they came on really cool wooden plank like plates. Both the sandwiches were great and I would definitely have them again. Their bread I am guessing is baked in house and was probably the highlight of the sandwiches. I really couldn’t find anything negative except probably for the price. Its not cheap. Two sandwiches and a coke cost KD8.200 which is more expensive than a proper 3 course meal at my favorite Chinese restaurant Ceasars. Still, I would definitely go back.
Pictures above are of Napket Kuwait and was provided by them.

Tried the Napket in London off Bond Street….it was terrible.
I had a tasteless pot of mozarella pasta, some forgettable, uninspiring sandwich and a very average cake thing.
No idea why they opened it in Kuwait, it only has 2 tiny outlets in London!
WOW the interior looks amazing
Thanks Mark for updating us with everything new … i went there before 2 days i liked the food its light and tasty, the decor & music is really great. i felt for an hour that i’m somewhere away from kuwait 🙂
They should have called it NapWitch (As in Napkin-Sandwich). I wonder if that domaine is already taken. Hmmm?
Damnnnnn….. KD 8.2 for a couple of sandwhiches and cokes.. Sure hope the interior was worth it. Me.. I am gonna go to Subways and to the plastic chairs over looking the sea at Souk Sharq and have a take away for the wifey inside KD 5. :-o)
It’s Caesars not “Ceasers”!!!!!!!!!!
Yet another franchise brought over by people with more money than sense, just because they had a couple of good lunches at their London branches
When will this franchise madness end??!!!
I so agree with you Zaydoun – hardly any creativity anymore…
I want to see Kuwaiti developed and innovative cafe’s and restaurants…and please enough cake shops.
It is 7:30 am and now I have shrimp and watercress stuck in my mind. Yum yum yummmmmmm.
Thanks for this, Mark. I’m going to check them out.
Ceasars… Favorite chinese restaurant??
Do you have any idea how many time i found bones in their Chicken! Peacock would be a very good candidate for a No1
Zaydoun: I hope it doesn’t end what the hell are you talking about! We need more of this stuff and less of the fast food junk. Hope someone has a nice sandwich at Pret-A-Manger and decides to bring that to Kuwait.
bones in the chicken doesn’t sound so bad. At least you’re more or less sure it’s chicken that way! 😀
In my 30 or so years visiting Ceasars and with Sweet and Sour chicken being my favorite dish there I have not once found a bone in my chicken.
I found the Napket sandwich I had a bit tasteless, it lacked condiments or sauce. When I asked, they didn’t have any. I have to agree, it was a bit pricey. I had a grilled vegetable sandwich, can’t remeber the name it had peppers with mozerella. I heard their iced yogurt is really good. I didn’t have it since I was full by the time I finished my sandwich, but my friends who did said it tastes like a Pink Berry. The interior is amazing! It’s loungee/clubby/outdoorish, just LOVE it!
You can take a picture of any store front you want, he can’t tell you anything. I would have told him to go fuck himself. You are being way too kind to a store that clearly has retarded management. They had to provide you with the pics?? wtf?? Did you need a security clearance to get inside??
I’m interested in that Chinese restaurant you mentioned, where i6 iz?
I had a very bad experience in my dinner with them… though was so excited at their opening… i didnt want to write about it cause kesraw kha6ry they need time they have just opened and will need a little
I guess the food was out for so long it became too dry… or maybe they are using Q8s ma6a7en flour, which turns every thing into wood.. i dunno…
the pasta is horrible,,, yes horrible, nothing else to say about it… pasta at pasta mania is more tasteless… my sister sent hers twice to the chef to add some taste to it, we had the cake thing “candy cake” muffin, which was out in the air too long the edges of the cake has turned to stone… coffee was good thankfully… service is extremly bad… Sitting outside wayed 7elow in the breezee but il sma3at would suddenly broadcast the new begining of the sound track VERY VERY LOUDLY… it happened over and over again… irritatingly… at one point i jumped in fright o almost spilled my coffee… thankfully i wasnt drinking it or i might have choked on it!
Oh yeah in the end, when i tried mixing my sisters cream of mushroom sauce with my own penne arabiata “with no spice whatsover” so we would have some taste… i asked for the mixture for take away, since we hardly ate it “yes very bad”… we wait, and wait, and WAIT… mako fayda.. we ask them about our pasta? they say they threw it away… they didnt get the concept of Take Away… very funny especially thinking that the thing already comes in a plastic plate with a lid!!!!
So the very friendly italian (i think) waitress makes us another one, but.. she makes us the one with meat, the one where my 2nd sister sent already twice back to the chef and had so much trouble downing it!!!! i recall that episode in Mr. Beans when he didnt want the raw meat he was served and he hid it everywhere, only then the Maitre D would present him with another one… 🙁
Try this place “Salad Creations” at the new KFH Building next to X-Cite
Pasta Mania do have the most tasteless pasta ever. I don’t know how they do it but its just horrible. The Napket one looked interesting but I didn’t try it, was actually planning to next time but I guess I should stick to their sandwiches.
Mark… stay away from the pasta at all costs…
but they have that Yoghurt Fruits compote thing… it was good, with a cup of cappucino which is decent… o sitting outside… y3ni passable…
O kan ako chocolate mousse thingy my sister wanted, but it sold out 7safa… i am guessing it was good… if i go back, i will try it with their cofee… bsssssssss
I tried the Mexican Wrap, it was absolutely to die for.
I Finally visited the much talked about Napket. And after hearing about the chaos at the mall, I decided it would be better to go and enjoy the Restaurant when all is calm.
The decor, simply breath taking, As i entered I reminisced about my University days, when I wanted some ‘alone time’ I would go to places like this. Napket has a very “lounge like” interior which will attract alot of the youth.
I was welcomed and assisted by one of the service staff. Although my mind was made up from the beginning what I would be ordering. My eyes quickly fell on the display of fresh fruits in baskets right outside the restaurant. I found that very intriguing.
I decided to sit on the patio and enjoy the lovely climate, I ordered a Sandwich and a Fresh Juice (thanks to the display of the Fresh Fruits) and was very fascinated by the funky wooden plate, it was simple yet creative. I relished every bit of the Sandwich, it was made just right for my taste buds. I was later joined by my two friends who ordered Soup and Salad respectively. Although the salad was OK, the soup was a tad bit bland. I would still choose the Sandwiches. 🙂
Although the staff is new, I dont blame them for their service being slow. They should pull up their socks though, Restaurants survive on reputations and word of mouth.
I’m sure if one visits Napket by the end of the month, it will be well settled, a little more organized, and off course with feedback given by the customers, they will improve their service.
I would definitely visit Napket again.Until then Happy Eating!!
Well my friend and I visited Napket on the 2nd or 3rd day of its opening.
The interior was gorgeous, but not child friendly. There were kids running all over the place and throwing food all over. Note to parents, pls do not bring your kids to places like these.
The ambience was quite nice, but I guess being in the opening stage, they were far behind on their service. They gave me the wrong drink, but I cudn’t be bothered to change, as it took quite long to get that one in the first place. The sandwich was yum, we ordered the beef salami sandwich, but do agree the bread was kinda hard.
We loved the management coming by to check on us every now and then, which was impressive, good for their reputation. Yes, we do agree the place is quite pricey for a chillout lounge, especially if it intends on attracting the youth, they need to reconsider their prices.
Will definitely visit them again.
Great atmosphere, healthy n fresh food simply luv it 🙂
😉 nice review.. mine will be totally neutral after my first visit there and the service you got; Hope they are in better shape because i won’t be as nice as I was on the group wall (am not nasty at all, but I sure do tell the truth)
My bad review and the admin’s message to the group really got this place started 🙂
So ur favorite restaurant is Ceasars..huh!!!
I think you should stop posting restaurant reviews.
They should have let you take the photos. Their collection is boring.
AMAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAZING NAPKET – THE BEST PLACE IN KUWAIT !!!
I first went there 3 days ago with my friends and was stunned; the decor, the ambiance, the style, incredible!
I had pasta, mushrooms pasta, and I lov’d them…great taste, good portion, slightly pricey but, one must accept to pay for quality.
I called all my friends as soon as I walked out, this is THE place, don’t even bother wondering.
i agree.. the place is nice.. indoors and outdoors decor.. and the food was really good.. its one of those places worth goin to over and over.. and it feels HEALTHY which i like 🙂
Which company owns this restaurant?
Americana?
Pret a Manger and only Pret a Manger ASAP please.
But then come to think of it, there is no way it could be brought over here and the amazing quality of its delicious food maintained. Guess I would rather have it in London in all its glory whenever I go, than to see it brought here and botched. I would be traumatized.
I LOVE IT.
another Italian full of carps overpriced junk , what a waste of decor and space and the avenues
i rather if they brought the olive garden instead
Olive Garden sucks!!
Bring The Cheesecake Factory or Grand Luxe Cafe instead!!
Nice concept, its just way too big for a cozy feel, its a bit on the edge of an airport business class lounge. I’d preffer it any day over shitty starbucks. A tad expensive for plastic forks and cups kinda place, however the food is a plus over the crap that is served at starbucks, caspers etc.
So expensive!
The three of us went yesterday and the bill was just over 19kd – the exact same order in Napket London would be £18 -> 9kd!!
I am sooo shocked to see a negative reviews and comments!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I’ve read the comments in facebook and other blogs and couldn’t stop laughing LOL.
For me it’s very classy & elegant.
It’s really great to reach this standard for a cafe in kuwait where you can eat healthy food in a fabulaous atmosphere.
its just expensive because food is imported and its high quality. also its to keep away a lot of boys staring at girls like in starbucks. you know what i mean
place, area, view, mood, food, service all r fantastic
