Géant in Jleeb

Jleeb residents will be pleased to know that Géant Easy Supermarket will be opening up in 2 days time in Souk Al Jleeb. This will be their second Géant Easy branch in Kuwait with their first being in Salmiya. Géant Easy is smaller than the regular Géant.

i think there’s one (dunno if it’s open or not) near Alnahtha (sulibikhat) i passed by it on my way to the sulibikhat graveyards

its a perfect location, a day ago was thinking some departmental store should open there.lots of parking spaces.new airport terminal is being built near by.there is a greater possibility that it is worth opening there.

This store caters to the labor market and I have no idea why it is in a purportedly upscale mall like the 360 mall which caters to the Kuwaiti market. But if you accidently exit the project and make a left at the red light you will be in a heavily populated labor area. There is nothing wrong with catering to this market and this new store will once again cater to this market, but get it out of the 360 mall and replace it with a more upmarket grocery store that is not like a government co-op.

This store is sorely mismanaged. They have no entrance at the bottom of the stairs and block for kiosts so that people can not enter there. Their stubborness to remove a few cashier areas and put an entrance their is pure stupidity. That is my first problem with this store. Secondly, the bakery goods are stale, the salad area might be growing penicillin and the produce is rotten in this store. Apart from the produce, their customer base, mainly sub-continent workers (and that’s OK) do not buy from the bakery so that is why these products are going stale and the salads are sitting in dangerous conditions. This store does look like a government co-op to me and because I live near the 360 mall, I wish that a Sultan Center or another grocery store would have gone into this project. Smaller mini markets around labor areas will be a smashing business for Geant in Kuwait. This store is not as popular as Carrefour in Dubai either. 360 should give them back their leasing agreement.

The Supermarket which was already available there, used to give a lot of offers. But the Goods quality was pathetic. Never Went there again.
Hope Geants will make it a better place to go nearby.

By the way.
Jleeb: 2 Gulfmarts, 1 Co-op Supermarket, and Now Geant ?

and the KFC in Jleeb Sucks ! The Customer service by the Egyptians are really bad and the Food taste bad than Farwaniya Branch.

I think Geant going into this area is a good idea. Like Rehab states, it might be better than what they have now. The majority of the expat population in Kuwait are these blue collar workers and Geant should concentrate their efforts to this market and focus on their marketing to gear to this economic base. There sort of the girl who shows up to the ball in a tattered dress in the 360 Mall.
