I got home after work and took Geo my dog for his walk when I noticed three kids abusing a small white puppy. So I asked them who the dog was for and a kid answered that it was his and that he wanted to sell it. I asked him how much and he told me KD5. So I called Nat and told her that we were going to rescue a dog and that she should call Animal Friends League to see if they could pick it up.
We got some towels, food and water for the puppy which turned out to be really hungry and waited for a call back from Animal Friends so we could see what to do next. As a backup I told Nat to give PAWs a call but as usual no one from PAWs picked up. Animal Friends called us back and told us no one could pick up the dog tonight but we could drop it off at the International Veterinarian Hospital which we ended up doing.
It was a pretty cute and playful dog. Nat decided to call him Grumpy like the Smurf since it had a grumpy look on its face, probably from all the abuse it got from the kids.
Animal Friends League is a non-profit organization that rescues animals and strives to improve the quality of their lives in Kuwait. So please if you would like to help them out either with a donation or other means visit the following link to find out how. [Link]

r u helping the AFL by puttin a banner for them on ur blog for free or u charge them for that?
Of course its for free what kind of question is that?
hat down for you Mark. oh and Nat too.
This melts my black heart, what you did was very “Human” of you. Keep doing what you do π
What you did is beyond great. God bless
Its easy to find a dog to rescue, the difficult part is taking care of the dog and finding it a good home and thats why Animal Friends League are great. They are the ones who should get the credit here.

I tap my hat in respect and honor of what you and Nat did, Mark. I think the both of you just scored a brownie point in HIS books!

Good job Mark!
Good job dude. I guess PAWS didn’t answer again because as usual they were too busy planning their next event?
Thanks for doing that, not many people would
Very nice of you,,Next time you get stuck and need PAWS help am only a msg away i’ll get a reply in 2 secs like i always do must be a racist thing like Holla said
Well done…
We already have a little one otherwise I would have offered a home.
Nice photo Mark!
That is a funny looking dog, Grumpy fits..
its a great thing you did and Animal Friends should be supported!
Poor little guy π Thanks for doing that!
Next time, call me and I’ll drive the kids out to the middle of the desert. For free.
Kudos Mark. Good Job!
Good job Mark and Nat,
@ Desert Girl: you better bring a big truck if you want to transport all the animal abusers ! π
heartbreaking. i am so glad grumpy found a better home than the streets.
Hats down to you & Nat & to AFL. Not anyone would have taken the time to do something like that. I seriously think some people here should be a bit more educated on animal welfare/education– and I think more laws should be put in place when it comes to animal abuse. Some people may think it’s stupid, but domestic animals are defenseless and they rely on us for survival. If you can’t take care of an animal then don’t have one! And i agree with DesertGirl, I would have dropped those kids off in the middle of the desert for free as well.
i love animals, it hurts to see people abusing animals.
good job mark
looks like labdador or at least mixed hope i am right they are lovely dogs
Personally, I would have given the kids a clip round the ear rather than KD5.

Goodjob both of you. Wish everyone was as same as both of ya. :-p
Mark, I read your blog most of the time, however its the first time I comment.
Hats off to you and Nat. and God Bless you both. If any of these organizations also work on educating children on how to treat animals they would have achieved part of their purpose.
Ayesha is doing a great job at Animal Friends League. Good work Mark.
Well done! Poor little thing, imagine what he has already suffered. Bless you and Nat, and AFL and the heroic work that they do.
OMG SOO CUTE I WANT HIM OFF YOU FOR 10 KD MARK PLEASE
YOu should have kept him, a animal comes to you you should keep it. It mean he was meant for you. Good company for Geo too…=)
Unfortunately..all the education and money in Kuwait hasnt taught children and human beings to respect either nature or animals. This isnt the 1st incident..or probably the last. U shud see how animals are abused or abandoned in the desert.
