I take the Gulf Road every morning to work and every evening back home. I also take the Gulf Road on my way to the gym and back. Every single freakin day I have to put up with jerks on the road trying to hit on chicks. The Gulf Road is just 3 lanes and if there is a car with a girl in it then you find a car on the left of hers and a car on the right of hers filled with a guy or two driving at the exact same speed as the girl (or girls). It’s ridiculous! Sometimes there would be a car in front of her as well and maybe a car or two behind also trying to get some action. These idiots block the whole Gulf Road driving at a slow pace hoping to get the girls number or whatever (I have no clue how that works) while everyone else is forced to drive at an abnormally slow pace behind them.
It’s not just guys that are the problem, sometimes you get these group of girls with a ton of makeup on giggling and laughing in the car with the windows open driving slow actually wanting the guys to hit on them. It really pisses me off. Where are the cops? Why don’t the cops do anything? Why don’t they assign the female cops (pictured above) to the Gulf Road and have them take vengeance?? Instead of installing new speed cameras on the Gulf Road they should figure out a way to stop these morons.

And during this process many people who actually have lives would like to get to their destinations without being forced to drive at 20 kph…
Agreeably this is so stupid. I looked right today and a girl covered her window with a small mat! Thinking I was about to flirt. Those idiots give such a bad reputation for everyone. That includes the girls that crave attention.
Though I wouldn’t recommend girl cops, that might only escalate the situation to worse. Just do what UAE does, have a cop car every 50 meters. Whenever a girl gets guys flirting she just reports them to the nearest cop.

Not to show the cops in a bad light, but usually all cops turn out to be related or friends with someone in the perp’s car and it ends in a ‘hala habibi’and a ‘massalammah’.
The guys who abuse the laws usually know that they can get away with it if they’re caught, hence the daring.

Here’s a way to get even. Take pictures of these idiots in action with license plates exposed and clear for all to see and post them here. The embarrassment factor alone would be priceless. You can call it “The Gulf Road Hall of Shame.”
I don’t get one thing though – There is the love street why don’t they go and mess about there and leave the Gulf Road as it should be!
Thing about it is that it eventually works. Numerous times I’ve seen girls slow down and talk to these guys, that’s the main reason they put pounds of make up (looking like clowns) and leave to get the attention and a few numbers.
The reason this happens is because of the way society is. I surely think this is a helpless case, but why is it very difficult to meet people from the opposite sex? You can’t talk to them in stores, clubs, bars, etc so people resort to catching them on the streets. Then women build this feeling of being so powerful and get this fucked up attitude

This happened at around 10 in the morning.
Me and my friend were at the parking lot of Green island waiting for my friend to arrive..
There were 4-5 cars, like luxury, sports cars etc. I thought they were there just to hang out and meet.
BUT then, all of a sudden a Porsche Cayenne arries with 3 girls in it. they stop, look around and then slowy exit the place. Few of the guys from the group immideately go behind them. All kinds of expensive, pimped luxury cars were coming it which was very funny to happen something early in the morning.
Then after some time a girl comes in a hite mercedes, doesnt stop thou and slowly exits and another group of guys follow her.
This happened for more than an hour !! i was shocked to see such kind of whoring happening.
This one lady comes in the parking lot already being followed by a guy but then when she leaves the parking lot..VOILA ! 2 cars are now following her !!
I have seen alot of this nonsense in the malls, on the road, and on alots of public places.but you guyz will be surprised to know even cops also do this nonsense. they stop the girls car for a traffic violation instead of giving them a ticket cops try to get their number or give them their own number. this disease is every where its hard to stop.
This is what you get when you have a bunch of spoiled brats with expensive cars who have no real goal in life. The Gulf Road is OUR road, too. Some of us happen to live in Salmiya and need to use it. These childish losers need to get a life!

The problem is our police force and their Desire to take action. They just don’t want to confront people and prefers to stay away.
When speed cameras was installed on Kuwait, I am sure the intention was to provide assistance to the MOI to identify violators, however, the concept has changed now, and police men are totally relaying on the cameras to do all the job.
It’s really unfortunate. I drive everyday to ahmadi Area were I work, and I can tell u foe sure, for the past month I didn’t see a police car on my way.
To be totally frank, I think they are a hopeless case.

And frankly I don’t how many government people there are here in Kuwait(politicians, police, security men, or firefighters) but they should be held responsible too for traffic accidents and things that happen on the roads, in the malls, in the restaurants, coffee shops because they should be setting the examples! As a matter of fact, parents and elders of this country should should stand up and stop these public scenes of stupidity!
I think I have seen only one incident where a Kuwaity took the law into his own hands when trying to stop an idiot driving in the emergency lane, and that was like 5 years ago!
The police dont work in the mornings! When I go to work in the mornings, the Camp Arifjan Suicide Club(the people that are going 160 or faster becasue they cant get up early enough) their is not a cop in site! On any given day!
they set up their speed traps in the same and on the same side of the road everytime! And the funny thing is they have a line of cars pulled over, ready to be towed away! Idiots!
1) putting their license plates on blogs to shame them wont work since they are way too stupid to care + dont even know what a blog is.
2) the cops are useless and lots of times its them who pull girls over and try to pick em up.
3)This phenomenon is just another indication of all the frustrations and pent up feelings in the youth of kuwait. This behavior wont change until its considered normal for girls and guys to mix openly and freely instead of feeling like everything they do is wrong/haraam etc. And to be frank, thats not going to happen since the country seems to be regressing further into the dark ages rather than advancing like the rest of the world (except maybe afghanistan,iran, pakistan,saudi arabia)

U ask where the cops are? well i used to take the gulf road everyday from beginning to end. had many encounters. the cops are there and do NOTHING!!! they watch! once actually there was the exact scene u described and the whole 3 lanes were blocked and there was a dawriya right behind them, i was behind him and he did nothing!!! didnt even honk the normal horn or pull that siren noise they do…NOTHING!!! he just waited patiently behind them! i wanted to kill him!!!! and as a women if you honk then the guys start harrassing you in a mean way, so we’r stuck. also the stupid girls piss me off, it like they drive even slower if they r being followed. if u want his number take it and fokeena and if u dont drive off, dont go 15km/h in the middle lane!!

Everyday story on gulf road. One car on left, one car on the right, one in front, aim is to block them ofcourse from all ways. The girls giggle like some stupid teenagers. For some time the girls keep giggling and playing around, then finally one of them passes the number. Hurray! Victory. Then the next car with girls in it. How very mature.

Plus apart from that i really think that there is nothing else that can be done coz as all the above mentioned people have said the cops are least bothered or concerned in this regard, so it is us poor people who want to reach home after a hard days work have to suffer while these spoilt brats do what they want and get away with it due to the reason that no ons is concerned for the plight of people like us.

The cops are not bothered abt doing anything on this, So many a times there are people dying on Gulf Road (recent issue and a horrific one) is where an Indian lady was rammed by a Kuwaiti! Best scenarios is to just be patient and ignore these guys!

allowing this kind of behavoiur seems to be intentional from the ministry of interior behalf. It seems that some of the people runnint the ministry (not the minister) have the intention of placing “social police” with a role similar to the saudi haya’a of which its people walk around the streets, beating people, and arresting women for walking alone!
Many indicators support this suspecion… The “social police division” has been established recently with no clear tasks or roles. The “neighborhood police” are in operation for couple of years now and also dont have any special roles that seperate them from ordinary police patrol. and finally, bringing females into the police force (here the ministry is following the iranian example). Of course we can also mention the visit of saudi haya’a made to high ranked kuwaiti police officials, some of who stated clearly in the news papers their intention of applying the saudi experience. And finally, the recent test of people tolerance and understanding of constitutional rights and prosecution procedures… This example is seen in the ministry’s action of arresting young men infront of malls and schools, shaving their heads, taking their pictures in a humilating pose and forcing them to sign documents in order to be released!

This happened to me a month ago, I was headed for dinner to one of the restaurants on gulf road, I had these group of ‘boys’ follow me in their totally pimped up rides and then they slowly form a sequence blocking me on all four sides. When I reached my destination, they followed me into the parking lot. They stopped their cars few meters away and were approaching my car. I got down and next thing you know they had a look of horror on their face. I was 7 months pregnant with a belly that was the size of an island, I yelled out saying “do we have a problem here??” they drove away so quickly. Lol never mess around with pregnant lady craving for some spicy chicken wings..:P

Personally i’d rather avoid these people all together, rather than waste my time with these stupid drivers. They are everywhere, streets, malls, everywhere. So rather than being a vigilante of sorts i’ll just mosey on my way. Why? coz my time is important to me.

And the ‘street decor’ meaning the traffic cops should get off their fat asses and actually enforce the law without wasta. Gulf road sucks especially between 10-1 every day… These “KIDS” think its the college street and it takes more than 45 minutes to reach salmiya from city.

I totally agree with all the people above on taking pictures of them and posting in some special section. Everyone can take a picture and video and submit it to mark, after marks review, he either accept it and post public or rejects if he thinks its just a joke by someone. I think we might atract some officials attention, be it ministry of interior or some ministry. We should not ignore this issue and just take another road, we should try to fix this or atleast give a try to fix this. For example, when ever my wife goes out to go do some shopping or do the things she do, most of the times, these jerks/monkeys attack her. Indeed she dosenr give them face, but you know that those jerks some times can go over the line, with doing something more than just drive slowly next to a girl. For example, I want to know that when my wife goes out alone, she will get safely to the place she wants. I wish i xan tint her windows in order to avoid these incidents but in our country it is banned. What can a married man do now? Wait for his wife to call if something happens, grab a baseball bat, get to the scene, stop the offender with your car. Get out, kick his ass, while calling the cops on the way and wait for them to arrive. This is what I do, if jerks follow my wife. When i first arrived in Q8 (14 long years ago) the first couple of times i was chased it was like “woo”, that soon wore off and my reaction was and still is “WTF”. Its not harmless fun, its ignorance and sometime just pure recklessness. These ppl who chase you are at times relentless to the point where i have had two car accidents. There have been times where i have had to stop my car in the middle of the road get out approach them and then end up losing my temper my calling them all the names under the sun where the most they can say is “sorry, sorry, take it easy” No i will not take it goddam easy, these bloody imbeciles are endangering my life, my kids lifes and other ppls lives on the road. These ppl watch too many quentin tarantino movies. It would be nice to be able to get in my car each day not having to worry about these assholes on the road.
