In Focus: Pet Zone

I found about this pet shop and decided to pass by and check it out. They haven’t officially opened yet but already the place looks really great and is by far the best pet shop in Kuwait. I absolutely hate pet shops in Kuwait because all the ones I’ve seen are very dirty with pets shoved into tiny cages and they’re just sickening to visit. Pet Zone on the other hand is one of the nicest looking pet shops I’ve ever seen and they still haven’t even finished the place yet.

The place is 2 floors, on the first floor they have pet food, lots of fish aquariums that will have fish displayed inside (they were still all empty when I was there), a pet grooming area and right in the middle two nicely done displays for guinea pigs and rabbits. Upstairs on the other hand they had pet accessories, birds and one large display that I think will end up housing a python or some other large snake. I think I also saw a room where they shower the pets but not sure.

As I said they still haven’t officially opened, it’s still just a soft launch and so they haven’t received all their animals yet and they were still finalizing their fish displays. But, you can still pass by and check out their pet food and accessories which they have a lot of. According to the employee they should have most of their animals in 2 weeks time. Pet Zone is located near The Avenues, if True Values is on your right, take the first right hand turn after it and drive straight in as if you’re heading to the 60th, Pet Zone will appear on your left hand side. Here is a map I drew which you can use [Map]

Update: The store has moved to a much bigger location [Link]

WOOOW!, It’s really looks nice and clean 😀 love the logo!, i’ll buy something for my lovely cat we really need professional pets’ centers in Kuwait 😀
soooooooo happy ..
i’ll pass by, thanks Mark !!

We had a look around the other day, the Kuwait man showed us around and was so helpful, he had been impressed by the ‘pets at home’ franchise in the UK.
Yes you can buy pets but only has guinea pigs at the moment and a few fish. But he said they would be having macaws and other birds and I think cats. They have a grooming parlour there too. We were very impressed.

I went there a 2 week ago, went out of true value and found it. ITS AWESOME! the hamsters are HUGE! And i bought some of the shirts.

Finally, a pet store with international standards, where animals are treated with care and respect.

Owners, you deserve the highest respect for this. Keep it UP!!! :)))

I hope they have premium brands cat food. All the cat food available in Sultan Center is horrible for your cat.

I will do that with my cat if I can’t find a premium brand soon. Raw food is also not that easy to calibrate. I know with cats you have to have certain amounts of different organs in the food for it to be healthy.

same with dogs. You got to mix it up, liver once a week, meaty bones at least every other day, eggs once a week etc.. etc..

the best thing would be raw cow stomach but in Kuwait they bleach and clean it before selling it so it’s basically lost all the nutritional values.

If you search this blog I thing i’ve posted about the raw diet before.

Looks great & with high standards which is GREAT. I hope they’ll carry a great selection of dog food. But I still encourage future pet owners to adopt a pet rather than to purchase one at a pet shop. There are so many loving animals out there in need of homes, and purchasing from pet shops only encourages more & more breeding, which many times leads to more & more pets left without good homes.

We have this cute rabbit for quite some time now, but we would like to give it away for re-adoption to pet loving families.

It is due to space constraints that we are giving away for re-adoption.

It is very cute and friendly with kids.

I’m pleased! I hope it turns out as good as I expect it to be. Sultan Centre doesn’t have everything I need. I hope PetZone sells clickers!

every animal lover/owner should visit this place.

Can’t wait to check this place out! My wife and I love to surprise our dog with gifts every now and then. Our little lhasa apso/mix is a gnawer so I hope that have some chew toys there like what I find online! I did happen to see the Animal Care transport when I was going home yesterday in Mahboula!

Can someone say what food they sell? and what kind of bones they sell? (better than ace hardware i hope)
my dog wont eat
eukanuba
chicken soup for the puppy lovers soul( this food is one of the top 5 best dog foods ever)
pedigree(its good that he wont eat that cr*p)
and science plan
….
i hope there is something that i will be able to find that my puppy will eat

Just returned from there- was very impressed and met a lovely Vet (French Arab) who took time to have a long chat. We went looking for an African Grey but they didn’t have any and so have taken our name. We did, however, leave with a hamster……

I think this sounds like a great idea. Premium pet food, finally! The concerning thing is that they are selling animals. Pet stores, no matter what condition they are in are not the ideal place to get an animal. Where are the animals from? Are they bred in puppy mills? Are they imported? Why are exotic animals being sold? In Europe, you don’t seen any pet stores, pet supplies stores, yes, but the idea of buying a puppy from a boxed window is quite outdated. There are two animals shelters in Kuwait, with wonderful, beautiful animals that are looking for a home. I hope that people will still look to these organisations for their new companion.

When you first posted this, I drove to the shop and it was closed, so I went again and it was closed, and then I went again it was closed. So I decided to speak to the source and I visited PetZone in Dubai to inquire whether they were the same company and they are. I complained to the managment team there about the hours of this shop because expats in Kuwait, because of many reasons do not drive at night and would more than likely visit this store on a Friday morning. They will import pedigree dogs from Dubai and ship them to this shop in Kuwait for customers which is a new service in Kuwait. I agree with some of you that finally a petshop that is civil in Kuwait, but what I stressed to the Dubai team is that in order for it’s success they must gear their hours towards their market base in Kuwait.

mark do you know if they have birds or bird supplies ? if not do u know any place that are good with their customers and honest with their customers sell birds and have supplies and all

i need a cage and a few zebra finiches
