I got an email from a reader saying that he heard that In-N-Out were opening in Kuwait. Of course I was skeptical and contacted In-N-Out right away and asked them about this. Here is their response:
Dear Mr. Mark:
Thank you for your e-mail. It’s always nice to hear from our customers, and we appreciate your interest.
As plans for new locations are always subject to change, we are unable to confirm any site in as a future In-N-Out Burger® until it is under construction. However, we can affirm that we plan on expanding as far as we can, and particularly into areas in which our customers have expressed interest. As such, we are happy to let our Real Estate Department know that you are anxious to have an In-N-Out Burger® location in your area!
For the latest information regarding new store openings, please call our toll-free Customer Service line at (800) 786-1000. Our representatives are available 7 days a week, from 8am – 1am (PST).
Thank you again for contacting us.
Notice the part I highlighted in bold? In-N-Out are only located in the Western United States, I think they’re actually only located in California. Previously when contacted their response would be along the lines that they would not open outside the US but now their response is they’re willing to open wherever their customers need them. In-N-Out are notorious for not wanting to expand or franchise so this new tone of voice I think is evidence that it might be possible they are considering expanding outside the US in the same way Shake Shack did. Hopefully we get someone more evidence soon.

Well Fatburger SURE is opening up soon: https://forum.mark248am1.wpenginepowered.com/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=13398
how many burger joints can a small country possibly support?
luckily a lot 🙂
Im SURE they think q8 is located in the Western United States they will never ever open in q8
How many burger joints in Kuwait are actually doing good ? In-n-Out wouldnt step out of the US for a very good reason. Everything is fresh and that would be a nightmare and too costly to have elsewhere. Unless you want lower quality.
In-N-Out is open in the West Coast, I think there’s one in Arizona, maybe Nevada. I forget.
If In-N-Out opens in Kuwait, everything else should just fail.
Realist: Thats the same reasons why Shake Shack wouldn’t get out of Central Park and now they’re opening up in Kuwait 😉
With the same concept ,they simply can’t!
IN N OUT don’t and NEVER use any refrigerators or frozen beef,
Where do you think they would get fresh cheese? Beef? Or vegetables?
I seriously don’t think they can just go to “Wafra” and shop around for ingredients!!
(especially during summer over here)
@Mark
Shake Shake will have a major challenge here. Either bring the same stuff here unfrozen which will be too costly or they will opt for local options which will deviate from the original, meaning less quality. Both options aren’t good for business.
Well you’re forgetting one thing, Alshaya.
Pinkberry for example, their toppings for their yogurts are blueberries, red berries etc.. where do you think they get those fresh ingredients from? They are from the same suppliers as Dean & Deluca. They’re having the stuff shipped to Kuwait anyway so adding some more quantity isn’t that more expensive for them.
I am guessing they will be getting the Shake Shack beef from one of Dean & Deluca’s suppliers.
Kinda like Sultan Center and their American producs. They’re bringing them in anyway for the US military camps, they just get some extra quantities in and also sell them at their super markets.
There’s an In’N’Out in Arizona too…I remember it opened around 2000/2001 and it was a HUGE deal. I don’t see this happening as it goes against their whole anti-franchising position
In-n-Out is located in 3 States .. Arizona, Nevada, and California.
I really really hope that they DON’T open it in KUWAIT! such thing as in-n-out should stay in the U.S and never open here.
We don’t deserve an In-N-Out Burger. Not yet.
Yeah, I just felt like saying that.
i have confirmed that a restaurant name In-n-out (maybe this is copy of the brand )is opening soon at the Seven Zones Design Center at Shuwaik industrial area near Alsabih Co. and Fuad Alghanim (Audi)
the website of the project https://www.the7zones.com for location and contact info.
hmmm, according to the website there is some sort of food section at the center. it would be very strange though if in-n-out would open there. Where did you get this information from?
They have in n out in Nevada as well actually
Actually its located in 4 states only : NEVADA + CALI + UTAH + ARIZONA
And for y’all fans out there , in n out has a secret menu!!!! They actually serve more than 2 kinds of burgers they’ve got the animal style flyin dutchmen and soo much MORE
OMG in-n-out!
i read about their burgers in Tucker max’s book
INNOUT in Kuwait ! *DROOL*
they are actually located In arizona, nevada, california and Utah too 🙂
I called Seven Zones, they said it’s not true that In-N-Out are opening there.
I don’t think they will be opening in Kuwait anytime soon. However, if they do? then HELLO OBESITY. i will personally be eating there like every other day. YUMMY.
Theres 5 branches in AZ, and a couple more in Nevada. Cali has 20+. DONT GET IT TO KUWAIT. it will sooo lose its flavor it wenr there ;/ adryy
im so craving it right now!! best burger with the delicious special sauce :P~
Our company tried to get thr franchise but we were told outright….”we don’t franchise”. You might think that money can change all that, knowing the story behind Krispy Kreme, where Americana bought out nearly half of the company and then opened in Kuwait. But In-N-Out is a family owned business ever since, so I douby if that will be possible.
That reply from In-and-Out is so obviously a standard reply they send to anyone. I bet you the guy who wrote it (or just cut and pasted it) has no idea where Kuwait is! He probably thinks its some place in the US!
They have never franchised in the US. In-and-Out is a family business, they don’t even have investors or shareholders. It’s owned entirely by the the grand-daughter of the founder.
it’s ain’t opening, they barely opened new stores of California, they will never open in Kuwait. If they did, all my meals would be eaten there.
