Even though InfoConnect got canceled this year, the local internet providers still decided to introduce special offers and discounted prices. I took the liberty to list all the internet prices in a table to make it easy to compare. Most of the internet providers are providing additional benefits like scratch and win cards or gifts, so make sure you visit their website for more details. The list above is based on the yearly prices and taken from the internet providers websites. This year I’ve also decided to add mobile internet prices to the list due to the fact that their connection speeds and prices have become extremely competitive with the regular internet providers. Check out the list below:

Picked up the 6 MB plan from Qualitynet and won the next speed for a year on the scratch coupon. Looks like their prices are better overall.
FastTelco had a one day offer where I got 13months of 6Mbps for 86KD. 😀
My 30 Mbps subscription will expire next month and with these prices I won’t be able to renew my subscription, That’s the end of me watching 4K movies on netflix
I have shitty landline that can’t handle more than 1.5mb/s. Which internet should I get. And can I cancel my viva internet that I got iPad with before the 2 year commitment is over?
I would recommend mobile internet. I use Zain and haven’t had an issue with them for the entire time I’ve had it (more than a year). Fast and consistent speeds, good for gaming and Netflix.
I was in the same boat with QualityNet (due to old wiring in our building). Cancelled the landline connection and went with Viva. Now HD streaming is a breeze.
If you cancel before your commitment period, you have have to pay the outstanding amount.
Its getting insane year after year.
I have KEMS 15mbps (Jet Net) for the past 3 years at 120 KD.
We’re probably the only place in the world where internet prices increase rather than decrease! 🙁
According to last years prices KEMS didn’t have 15Mbps, it was either 12Mbps for KD177 or 16Mbps for KD254 https://248am.com/mark/internet/internet-prices-at-infoconnect-2015/
How were you able to get 15 Mbps for KD120 and from three years ago? Sounds like a really good deal. And whats Jet Net?
Last year they started increasing the prices I recall. When I went to renew (at infoconnect), the guy said “you pay what you paid last year”.
I was not happy, but at least I was not dissappointed.
And I got a ton on mousepads, pens and mugs lmao.
And Jet Net was just the name they gave the 15 mbps line.
How would you convince the landlord of your building to up the speeds? Our building’s wired for fiber, but it’s a 10mbps connection shared between 9 apartments. I’m sure he could pony up the change!
50mbs internet with landline and sports package TV bundle for 50KD per month with Etisalat’s ELife bundle in the UAE
But can you use skype? 😛
#shotsfired #teamkuwait
hahaha
Hahhahaah died laughing
No but i can drunk dial anyone locally using legally bought booze 😉
100 times better than Skype.
+1.
hahahahahahahahhaha
Skype works in UAE , I have used it regularly
No it doesn’t https://www.emirates247.com/business/technology/voip-including-skype-is-banned-in-uae-tra-2015-08-24-1.601231
there`s always an option, use VPN. I do so everytime i`m in Dubai, hotels love to throttle the VOIP clients, install a free VPN on your mobile and most probably you`re good to go. One hotel only managed to block my free VPN and I had to use a paid one, but it worked.
https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/throttle
Throttle isn’t a good word.
Mark, you don’t know what you’re talking about. Stop relying on news article and either 1) ask someone who lives there or 2) travel down and check. You’re spreading wrong information!
I was there, and my best friends are there. Skype doesn’t work in Dubai.
I just got off a business and personal call with Dubai earlier this week. Don’t know why they are blocking you.
They were probably using a vpn to skype with you that’s the only way.
No VPN used.
Yes Mark you can. Especially with Etisalat. You aren’t allowed to use VPN, tunneling, VOIP Software or anything that eats their revenue illegally. But Skype yes. Just fyi 🙂
You can’t use Skype in Dubai.
I just spoke to my friend who is on Etisalat who does not understand what VPN is. They just fired up Skype and spoke. No complications. You need to figure what your contacts have there. They must be under some firewall and no my friends are not Etisalat employees 🙂
Then he must be on some network that has Vpn. It’s not only my friends who can’t use Skype it’s everyone in Dubai plus I can’t even use Skype in Dubai when I’m there. Not only Skype but FaceTime also doesn’t work, viber doesn’t work and not even Tinder! You need to use a Vpn.
Ouch !!! Mark that was harsh ! haha
We just got a letter from the MOI telling us they’re gonna introduce Fiber so I think I’ll wait
MOI or MOC?
Yup, by 2023 hopefully prices will go down.
Well it’d suck to be with WiMD and then see this list, Outrageous!
I’ve got WiMD. Mobile Internet is slower than WiMD in my area and the fastest DSL speed I can get is 2Mbps. So I don’t mind WiMD prices since its giving me something I can’t get any other way.
Hey Mark,
WiMD’s got new prices, i renewed my subscription and upgraded to an 8mbps line for 270KD, and the 6mpbs line is currently 230KD. I think it’s a limited promotion they’re having so it may not last more than a few more days?
I am with Gulfnet for 10mb @ 75KD annually, its like 3rd year with the same price, as renewing the subscription.
Thanks for putting everything in one table.
Just want to point out the ooredoo offer for 1 TB for 144 per year is a 2 yeas (24 months) contract. That being said it still a good offer however I am not sure how 4G+ improved over 4G (regular)in Kuwait(if readers can help with their speedtest results). I know Mark did send his own numbers against WIMD but I it would be great if you compared regular 4G versus plus?
Thanks
hey you’re right about the 24 month contract, just updated the Ooredoo price so its for 1 year.
Well, this 4G+ plus sounds like another marketing BS.
Here you go, results from both Ooredoo and Zain… Same location, same router, same speed test servers.

Well done Nicolas! I m sticking my money on Zain, just bought the router(Unlocked)
You should do test like this from your location before you decide anyway. Mobile internet speed and quality heavily depends on your location. Check my another comment below.
I did.
Thanks for the info.
Can I know the router you used is 4G+ or a regular one?
Thanks
I use a 4g+ router (huawei router e5786) using zain (not in a populated area; hospital) I can reach 93 Mbps.
https://www.speedtest.net/my-result/5071092071
However, it wasnt the same before using 4g+ router. I used to get half of this speed with old router
Old B593, but I think main reason for your speed is location.
Even B593 can handle up to 100 megabit speed if it’s provided from network.
# Speed 4G (MAX):
* Download 100 Mbit/s, * upload 50 Mbit/s
Anyway I will borrow e5786 from my friend and test it later to make sure.
Wow! Just tested it with 4G+ router and download speed hit to 92Mb/s :O But problem is that you can only get this speed if you test it on local servers. For Europe and US servers speed and ping is exactly same as on my normal 4G router :/ So, not much benefits from 4G+ from me 🙂
😀
Welcome and sorry for the typos.
I think with 1TB plan (monthly) for 2 years contract, the price is 288KD (12KD monthly for 2 years). However, they do give XboxOne or PS4 with 4g router for free. So it is a good offer at the end of the day. Just need to know how good is the speed.
Thanks
Peak speed of just 3Mbps is what we have gathered from feed backs. For 12KD it is still decent.
i had subscribed with KEMS on the jetnet package two years ago at 228KD for 50MB, and renewed at the same price/speed even though the offer wasn’t available or posted during infoconnect 2015. I will be doing the same this year as well.
How are you sure they will renew at old prices?
i’m not, but i’m hoping i’ll be able to, no reason to change policy from year to year.
Which mobile internet provider would you guys recommend for egaila? ooredoo or zain? Anyone have the speed test results for that area? I was told to stay away from DSL as the landlines would only be able to handle 3mb. Thanks in advance.
Soon … 2025!
I got great speeds with Ooredoo, and Zain should also be ok. Good to see you didn’t even mention Viva as it barely works. I posted my speed results in forum. Also be aware that DNS spoofer service doesn’t work with Hulu when using Ooredoo if that is important to you.
Can anyone recommend the best mobile internet here for gaming ?
If you are lucky one within fiber optic coverage, you should definitely get internet from one of the landnline internet providers. If there is no fiber option, you should try different mobile network providers at your house before you decide. Mobile internet speed and quality depends on your location, how many antennas do they have near your house and how many customers do they have in your area. For example in my house Viva is worst and Zain is best but for my friend at different location Viva is best and Zain is worst. You never know until you do some research.
Ask your friends with different mobile network providers to come over at your house around 8-9pm (peak home internet usage time on working days) and test speed and latency from their devices.
Should I just recharge from the website or should I go to the store for getting the special offers, etc. The prices aren’t down, might as well see if I get any good gifts.
I got the 288kd 2 year 1tb per month 4g plan from Ooredoo and I sold the free Xbox for 80 kd at Rihab and now I only have to pay 208 kd for the 2 years.
Howz the speed 6.9? I m clocking 3MBps~24Mbps on Zain. Not under contract so can switch whenever I want.
Thanks Mark for gathering all the information.
Some clarifications on 4G+ vs. 4G
4G+ is the marketing name for “LTE Advanced”, also know as “LTE-A”; and it is only compatible with certain devices.
In Kuwait – the iPhone 6S and Note 5 are compatible; only some of the routers from Huawei that are available are compatible (you need to check with the provider), and the Zain exclusive netgear router is compatible with 4G+/LTE-A
I can easily stream full hd netflix on my Zain “old” 4G router; and with my netgear 4G+ router, life is even better. If 4G network works good enough for you, there is no need to upgrade to 4G+; in fact, if you are having poor 4G coverage, 4G+ coverage will be worse.
Zain is the only one that offers 4G+/LTE-A on mobile devices; all other providers offer it on their internet-only devices.
For gaming, Zain offers a boost service that reduces your ping times, and they also offer dedicated IP addresses and other perks to customize your internet experience.
Having used all three providers; Zain has the most reliable service – with consistent speeds that are near to what is advertised.
The worse I have seen is Viva; with ooredoo a distant second.
ooredoo go so far as to put their premium customers on an entirely different network segment; just to provide better quality – this is really BS as you should offer the same service quality to all your customers – yes, you can offer perks like a priority queue at your call center, but c’mon – offering a different network entirely? That’s just wrong.
I doubt the part about ooredoo offering premium customers a better Qualitynet network is true. If it was my ooredoo test unit would have a download speed of 20 Mbps instead of 3 Mbps…
Kems is 120 KD for 1 year plus scratch and win got 3 more months on Speed 15 MB so ITS 15 Months for 120 KD this is my 3rd year with them no problems.
When exactly did you renew and from where?
Isn’t the 1tb for 16KD Zain deal only available for one month? i called asking about it and they told me its the regular price of 20KD for a 1 year plan, meaning the price is 240KD for 1 year not 192KD.
just to add: this is what they say on their site:
Double the internet offer is valid for one month of your subscription only. Once the period ends, all calls and Internet GBs will resume back to the original plan.
the post of the year ^^
Consider speed aside, all of the companies have a cap limit on Gigabytes downloaded which makes them at a disadvantage. I think mada it the winner here ?
I got Ooredoo 1 TB 4G+ about 4 months ago when it was 18 KD plus 2 KDs for the router with 2 years commitment, the speed and the service is great.
But I regret as the current price for this package is only 12 KD plus the XBox, so I feel really bad about that!!
Does anybody know how to get the new package instead of the current one I’m paying? Is there any workaround to get out of this commitment without paying the full price of the remaining of the two years in advance?
I will really appreciate your help 🙂
Break the contract … rebuy it with your console free. You already have the router.
Can someone definitively say which areas in Kuwait are currently ‘fibred. I know Salwa is but where else?
Salwa is. I lived without a landline living off the Zain 3g and now 4G for internet – for 5 years – and it was worth the wait. Fibre rocks. I got to test my line at 20mbps consistent for the first month on GulfNet!
so its safe to say that KEMS is good for now ? or should i just wait for GPON since am looking for a good connection for gaming and surfing with a stable ping
4G+ is a marketing term, they all offer “4G+” — correct term is lte advanced
