Kuwait Celebration Tips for Newbies

Getting Foamed

I am not good at this but maybe some of you readers could help out. I want to make put together a (funny) list of tips for people who will be spending their first Kuwait National Day and Liberation Day in Kuwait. Something like David Letterman’s Top 10 list. Here are some bad examples I just thought of:

– Do not leave your house.
– Don’t make eye contact with someone with a foam can.
– If you are driving on the Gulf road, keep your windows closed and your doors locked.

blah blah etc.. Can anyone with a better sense of humor help out? Leave a comment and if its good will add it to the list.

If you have any tips for people who will be spending their first Kuwait National Day and Liberation Day in Kuwait, post it in the comments below.

25th – 26th Feb ’06 FETE DU FOAM
Thinking about scraping those bugs off your windshield? Wish someone else would do it? Take a ride through the Gulf Road and see how it makes your car shine. … the convenience of an automated car wash is growing in popularity, exterior rollover car washes are blah blah blah , the car-wash equipment moves over your car in forms of, well, children and late bloomers in the maturity department…
Coming soon world’s largest automated car wash!
Listen to this to get into the mood.. enjoy J :

Stay away from the Supersoakers!

These supersoakers might have piss or coke in em! And they burn your eyes!

Wear Goggles! Big Goggles!

have a paint ball gun ready and waiting!

Running over people when necessary is an option!

Girls if you’ve never learned how to hit before.. then you do now! Just punch the guy in the face if he opens your door (cuz you forget to lock it)

Also these are not children.. they are evil midgets ready to attack! they will drown you in foam if you give them the chance!

my birthday is Feb. 25th…I almost forgot how good it is to hang out at a resturant and have a B day celbration with friends cause im afraid to go on the gulf road….recently, I have spent my birthdays at the gym
it SUCKS ass

This would be a good chance for you to show the world how you can be a real cop, and keep the peace, so go ahead, give back to kuwait on its national day, make us proud, make them RESPECY YOUR AUTHORITY!

yeah it was back in the day.. after the gulf war.. everyone was so happy.. that we did everything to party!

They started as people driving down the street with music going and flags flying! It used to be a family event! Then some people brought some foam cans and more kids wanted foam cans and string cans! And everyone spraying the other laughing.. then some of these kids grew up and still did it..

And it mutated to what it is today!!

Nonaw:

let me tell you something.. when they are spraying you .. you will be soooo pissed you wanted to smack them soo damn hard.. plz remember my comment when someone sprays you and you didnt want to be sprayed! Its going to be crazy! Just so you know! lol

Hmmm…………its a bit lke the Holi celebrations in india ,Its supposed to be a festival of color.

Which means for a couple of days you are targeted with color filled balloon, and water and all.
Just walking out of your house wud make u a target.

Well its important to know that along the Gulf Road there are certain “hotspots”. These are locations where kids and teenagers usually hang out on the side of the road with foam cans ready to spray any car that passes by. The major hotspots are infront of Shaab Park, Sultan Center, McDonalds and TGIF.

1.Do not leave your house after 4pm, only in a case of emergency. Think of it as the day you finally get the time to organize your dvds or books.
2.If you do go out, avoid the Gulf Road and the Second Ring Road at all costs.
3.If you’re ordering in, order 2 hours before the time you actually plan to eat. The roads will be blocked, especially in Salmiya.
4.Be careful keep your doors locked and don’t even crack the windows.
5.Drive safely if you do go out and buckle up.

And…*drums*… for the wild at heart…

If you are up to the challenge of going through the gulf road at the peak hours from 8 to 10 you will need:
1-goggles
2-3 to 4 towels
3-a wet suit
4-a can to pee in(traffic is impossible)
5-3 big water bottles(to clean your windshield when the attackers are on a break, you get approximately 4.5 seconds max)
6-extra tshirts
7-good music
8-a friend who’s a good listener(you might get the sudden urge to open up to someone)
9-covers for your phone, ipod, and anything you wouldn’t want to get wet.
10-tic tacs just incase you never get out of there and decide to repopulate the planet.

Good Luck and tell us how it goes!

I GOTTA SAY THAT IS ONE CLASS POST!!

Personally, I’m reminding everyone, including my 2-year old, that these things are wrong and simply not the least bit patriotic.

This isn’t a football match we’re celebrating, it’s Kuwait’s Independence and Liberation from oppression and dictatorship… OK, so we’re Not the USA or India, where millions upon millions fought and died in Struggles for Independence and Civil Wars, with murals and memorial statues everywhere, but this is my country and this is my history! I will not honour it with childish behaviour.

People fought and died so that my family and I can live in freedom, I’m not going to honour their sacrifices with spray cans and foam, this isn’t the Legacy they wished for themselves to leave behind!
