Kuwait getting worse when it comes to corruption

The 2012 Corruption Perceptions Index is out and Kuwait has dropped down a few places over the previous year. Kuwait is now ranked in 66 place when it was previously ranked in 54. Qatar and UAE are both tied in 27th place as the least corrupt countries in the GCC. You can check out the full list [Here]

I wonder if that has got anything to do with the fact that our millionaires have increased as other news report was published in almost all local news papers.

North Korea, Venezuela – amongst the most corrupt. Pretty much defines where the report is coming from.

Laugh it off at best.

Instead of arguing, lets work to reverse this fact. By let say a public campaign, a gurilla advertising, an interactive campaign. That discribe Kuwait with no corruption; how our streets will be, metro stations, lots of metropolitan cities, with lots of young businesses, lots of factories, tourisem, airports, trains,… God we miss a lot of things to start arguing !!

We should just start working, then we will not care about a list that says anything about Kuwait.

AAM

The US is the most corrupt country on this planet. Its a virus, and the only way to cure it is to get rid of it.

The education, girls, freedom, liberty, weather and rights are good enough for your backwards do-nothing ass.

You should’ve stayed in Kuwait and studied at KU or Gust.

While I wont deny the existence of corruption here or in any country in the world, there is something skewed about it. The index is a good effort but also needs to be taken with a grain of salt.

“The CPI reflects the views of observers from around the world, including experts living and working in the countries and territories evaluated.”

Cut and paste from the website. “Views of observers” which, being human nature, could be anything. Its like going to a restaurant and you ask for a spicy dish and the waiter asks “mild, medium or hot” …. How the bloody hell do I know what your “hot” is, for all I know it could be hell on earth or a tickle of the tongue.

Its a “Perceptions” index, could be right on or completely off.

If Abdul Fattah Al Ali continues his shakeup and enforcement of the law then our “perception” might improve, whether in fact it actually does or not.

There is no denying there isn’t any corruption, there is and will always be to some level in every country, its about how well you hide it.

The USA made this list, so it’s very biased. They’re definitely the most corrupt country on the planet and continues violating international laws and treaties.

The Americans genuinely believe they are above international law. Kuwait is far less corrupt than US and UK. The Westerners love making these kinds of lists because Venezuela and Iran have plenty of oil to steal.

Before the Iraq War, Iraqi oil was nationalized. Now foreign companies own the oil, that is a fact.

A lot of Kuwait’s oil goes to America, foreign companies profit from our oil.

The only one who “stole” your oil was Iraq. Stole your whole country as a matter of fact. Those oil companies buy the oil.

I guess our so called “Liberal” Parliament are NOT so Liberal after all. They have done nothing to make our country a better place.

The parliament is liberal and everyone knows it, the ”islamists” only have 3 seats. The parliament has made the country a better place. The literacy rate is higher, university graduates are more and high schools are improving.

I considered myself as a liberal, I’m neither opposition nor pro-government, but I have great respect of the royal family, for your information ;). After Feb 2012 election, things are going very well, they’re going to build Jaber Al-Ahmed Bridge, 2 new remodeled terminal airports, and Madinat Al-Hareer. After the Dec 2012 “Controversial” election, I did not see any projects are being constructed. Also, building those projects will not only make our country a better place, it will solve our traffic problems, attracting more tourists, and it will help us in a long run. UAE and Qatar are the only GCC countries are going on the right path, they’ll have at least tourism and solar energy during Post-Oil era. They think ahead, NOT thinking present. 😉

Tourist? Are you for real? Tourist need visas!!! and trust me kuwait is not very generous with granting them.
In general, majority of the tourist come from countries with less than 2-3 hours travelling time. Other than the food and shopping you’ve gotta work on alot more to build the economy and compete with neighboring tourist friendly countries.
Additionally relatives of most expats are potential tourist. Since the insecurity of granting visas to such categories exists, get a hold on visa trading and then you can control changes from visit visas to work permits. Its all possible, as long as the energy is driven in promoting the right elements.

i would never believe this shit, how come Israel isnt the most corrupted country? Or the US?! They are the main reasons for everything happening in the world, thats really dumb tbh.

I can’t believe how ignorant most people are here. Everyone’s blaming US , shame on you people. I agree they are not completely perfect but they saved your ass during the gulf war for the foolishness which the Kuwaiti government did.

Your minister just had to spit on some diplomat’s face from Iraq thinking there will be no repercussions. And once attacked you couldn’t defend yourself and needed US’s help. Now you all mock the US.

After the gulf war you needed all the expats from rest of Asia to build your country and economy and now you are deporting everyone like dogs.

Honestly I have not seen a more thankless breed of people in my life. But the good thing is there are still a small percentage of good people in this country.

What if the US had stayed out in the very beginning, would anything happen between Kuwait and Iraq or other countries? Common, use your common sense, the US is the main reason behind every disaster in this world. Kuwait is a wonderful country, still is, just leave the US away.
