Actually, if they are doing well in Lebanon, they will do well here 🙂
What are the specs? they should have gotten SRT’s 😀
I thought bahrain did the same thing…
My husband just got a charger at work, and the sucker is making weird noises already. He doesnt think it will last 2 years…and Kuwait isnt exactly a big place….
the car has a nice exterior…but the interior sucks big time!

Kuwait can afford way more than 150 Dodge chargers. They could get a better preforming car, that’ll be able to withstand the harsh conditions that the American cars can not. I’m sure everyone who owns an American car in kuwait, will agree that the cars can not last in kuwait’s 50 degree summer tempuratures and weekly sandstorms (if not daily), and the cars will overheat in less than a year, but unfortunately, all the Kuwaiti government thinks about is which is cheapest, not which would be most adequate. They’ll learn.
they are soooooooooooo ugly!! they look like huge, hulking bulldogs!
Sucks! Lebanon just got chargers..
Omar
I have to agree with them especially with the police officers behavior in Kuwait and their motto “??? ??? ?? ????”
That was “mal 3ammek la yhemmik”
Omar, I dont think that Charger is the cheapest. But as far as I understood, they have bought the cars and sent them off to a third party to fit them as police cars. so its only about stealing money. they’re pocketing from that company outfitting the Chargers as police patrols.
I want to be arrested just so I can ride in one. maybe if i buy some of those new trainers M got, I might?
I’m sorry, but anyone that thinks that American cars are a poor choice for the Kuwaiti police are ignorant of the fact that the crown victoria and chevy caprice have been around for a long time in the Kuwaiti police force.
Read up about American police cars (such as the crown victoria), they are not typical crown victorias, but instead specially suited for the police and are designed for a) rough terrain, b) engine kept on idle for long peroids of time at high tempatures, c) special engine and suspension packages.
Maybe the charger is a bad car (I don’t know), but don’t knock American cars in general because of it.

I agree with AbdulKareem.
I’ve been driving American made cars since I got to Kuwait 12 years ago. The only car I had that overheated (and then caught on fire) was a 300 ZX Twin Turbo – brought from the US and made for cold weather specifications.
As an example, most of cars used to escape Iraqi soldiers across the desert in 1990 were American made cars because they have the best cooling systems. Further, most large American cars have a larger engine capacity allowing for better air circulation/cooling.
American car manufacturers go by specifications for either hot or cold climates. They just put on a larger radiator, sometimes a better radiator cap, change the thermostat and part of the exhaust system. Not a big deal. American made car parts are also a lot cheaper – especially since the dollar is down.
Most police cars only have to last a few years anywhere in the world as the forces change them. What the MOI should do is assign better vehicles to the CID police – investigators are still driving Nissan Glorias and using their personal vehicles at their own expense. If a suspect crashes into their personal vehicles – the investigators pay for the repairs.
