Kuwaiti racers dominate UAE Drag Race

Members from the Kuwait Quarter Mile Motorsports Club were crowned winners in multiple classes including the Pro Mode Bike class won by Meshal Al-Sabr, and followed by fellow club members Mohammad BuRashid, Misfer Al-Misfer and Mohammad Al-Awad respectively.

Meanwhile, Kuwaiti racers Mohammad Al-Baddah, Yaqoub Al-Ali and Ahmad bin Belal won the first, second and fourth places respectively in the Superstreet Bike class. In sports cars classes Tariq Al-Qudairi was crowned champion of the Index 4.8 class, while Imad Al-Jassem came in fourth place in the Pro Mode class. The Superstreet V8 class was dominated by Kuwaiti racers in the meantime, as the top four places went respectively to Mohammad Dashty, Mohammad Al-Sulaiman, Faraj Al-Ajmi and the Q80 team led by Abdullah Al-Shatti [Source]

What sucks is the fact that these guys can only compete abroad since their only drag race strip here in Kuwait was closed down years ago.

if that’s the one off the 6th ring road it was closed down a few years back. the neighbors complained about the loud noise.

They didn’t exactly close down, it was moved to Street #25 near my building and you can see the races every Thursday evening.

Now where do I complain about the noise? 😛

Further more proof that we need a drag strip/ring built in Kuwait. Seriously maybe then 90% of the accidents that usually happen wont happen anymore.

It’s all common sense, nothing more. Don’t know what they are waiting for to do it.

man i know most of these guys

they can be world champions specially albaddah but sadly no one pays attention.

I wish that they can build a drag race strip here in Kuwait. I have a fast car and I do not drive fast on the street but I would want to try to drag race on the strip. My only option now is to go to Bahrain or UAE but no thanks. 🙂

I remember that Kuwait Science Club on the sixth ring road had a drag strip before and not sure what happened to it now.

Go Muhammed BuRashid!!!! I used to work for him at his bike store in Shuwaikh.

He’s a really kind down to earth guy. He constantly wins super bike drag contests all around the Gulf but gets almost no coverage from Kuwait about his winnings. He doesn’t even have any sponsors or anything and does everything out of his own pocket. It’s a taboo thing to sponsor a drag racer. The government doesn’t want Kuwaities to drag race or take part in any international races, but they don’t care and still do it. It’s a complicated issue.

There is alot of work going on to build a track and a dragstrip in kuwait. it takes time like everything here in kuwait from all the politics. but there is some slow progress. kuwaities are not only dominating in drag racing there doing great in jetskies and now they are circuit racing too. It looks good for the future especially with the q8 1/4 mile club taking the FIA FIM and CIK rights from the kuwait automobile club. lets hope the use them right.

Somebody should build a race track. hellooo, BOT ?!!! am sure many investors are willing to do it

no need to be fancy with stages, just some asphalt and safety tires

am sure many will pay

I’m sure there are investors, but the problem is obtaining the license. I’m sure that the approval to obtain the license will be rejected for no reason.

why is it so complicated to get a drag strip track built in your country, you have some very talented drivers, its a shame they cant get sponsership or reconition. AL ANABI RACING TEAM has taken over the drag racing circuit here in the UNITED STATES, lets team up and see if I can contact someone here in our government to see if we can set up an exchange program for drag racing. We have a drag racing school that I attended here called the ROY HILL DRAG RACING SCHOOL which is a fabulous school to attend.I am willing to team up with anyone to make this happen as I see the need for your country to be a top competitor in this sport. Lets not let this opportunity get away, feel free to contact me at [email protected] and I am soon to set up an facebook page, so I await all responses.
