Lorenzino Cafe Experience

I am a big fan of the chocolate cheesecake from Lorenzo but today I decided I am not going to have it anymore. I was at The Avenues killing time and on my way out I decided to pick up some cheesecake from Lorenzino Cafe so I could have them at home. It wasn’t my first time, its become a habit for me every time I visit The Avenues.

Today though there was a new manager there and he was a total dick. I went up to the counter and the manager came up to me, I told him I needed cake to go. He was like full cake or slices? I told him I needed two slices. He told me he wouldn’t be able to do that. I was like huh? Why? He told me he didn’t have any staff to action my order. I was like you have that guy (I pointed to one) putting cake on a plate, can’t he also put cake in a box? He told me no he couldn’t. I stood there for a few seconds bewildered before I decided to walk away.

I thought about getting into an argument with the manager because what he was saying didn’t make any sense but then I was like fuck it, its there loss if they don’t want to sell me cake. I should have gotten his name though so I could make an official complaint but I didn’t. All I remember was that he was Lebanese and had a shaved head.

I think this was one of my worst customer service experiences because it was such an avoidable incident. Usually I complain without offering a solution but today I decided I would.

What the manager should have done was the following:

a) Action the order himself which is what I would have done. At work when something needs to go out urgently in my department and there isn’t anyone to action the job then I would do it myself. Last Friday when Lorenzino was MUCH more packed, the manager (a different one) gave us the slices of cake himself. Its not brain surgery, its just taking cake from the fridge and placing them in boxes.

b) If he was too lazy to give us the cakes himself he could have at least told us that we could have the cakes but it would just take a bit longer then usual because they were really busy. Or maybe told us to come back in 15 minutes.

Anyway, I don’t need their cheesecake and I don’t need Lorenzo. If anything I am better off now since cheesecake is fattening.

He’s probably got something on you mark , he’s such a bastard, I really think that you should call their head office some time and give’em a piece of your mind

khalid: i was going to but then i decided to hace cake. ended up with neither

miroooo: i should have taken the managers number

vampire: I know, it sucks, the place looks unfinished.

if you are in someway connected to D*lush then dude you need to make the size of the drinks smaller. They are too huge and I usually end up throwing half of it away.

lol, i actually let out my anger at a Baskin Robbins employee 30 minutes later. BUT, surprisingly the Baskin Robbins employee was amazing. Very patient, very polite and very apologetic, a true pro. I should actually email baskin robbins and tell them they should promote the guy.

you know what?
i’ve been having bad service in every single restaurant in the avenues… starting from noodles factory to maki!

The only two places where they were decent with us were Fridays and Asha’s!

Thats awful walla!! Why dont you try https://chocolateria-kw.com/ ?? They have yummy cakes.. my friend got me my birthday cake from them and it was oh-so-good.. hmmm I strongly recommend it… and one of my worst experiences was at MAKI, when I asked the waiter to take the rest of my food home, he actually asked me to put all the sushi pieces in one plate to make it “easier” for him to pack it! How rude? but I LOVE that place :-S

I swear, they do have the worst service. We were there a couple a weeks ago and the waiter serving us had a bewildered look on his face the whole time. You couldn’t ask for something without him looking at us like we asked to buy one of his organs.

I was there a few days ago and ordered a Mochaccino.. which tasted as flat as milk !
So i called the waiter and told him how bad it tasted and that there’s no trace whatsoever of Coffee ! he took it away and I saw him talking to the manager (who looks as you described) and he did nothing ! he didn’t even come to offer me another drink ! I don’t know if they charged it to the bill coz I was with a group and one was buying.

lorenzo is notorious for bad service and arrogant attitudes (together or separately depending on your luck). the managers are extremely rude and i have got into arguments with them repeatedly to the point that i refuse to go to anything even vaguely connected with that restaurant. there are many other places for all the activities they presume to offer.

its good that they’re demolishing their main location. they deserve to be run out of town.

Who the hell says “action the order”? That sounds sooooo fake Arab-wannabe-cool-Ajnabi Engrish. Matches the guy’s attitude to a T!

That story reminds me of a C*** I ran across in Hugo Boss that wouldn’t alter a suit I’d bought in duty free Hugo Boss while traveling, despite my having a voucher for it.

So, what I did to get revenge on him was to go back to Hugo Boss store several days later and try on several suits, shirts, and shoes and act a complete ass of a customer to him while trying them on. Then I lefy his store and told him I was going across the street to Armani.

The look on his face was priceless!

Emmm.. what a concidence! yesterday I asked my sis to get some chocolate cheesecake from Lorenzino, but she was not in the mood to go.. what if we are there!! we would see ya!

Good reaction from your part, leaving and never coming back and posting about it on 248am is enough for a bad publicity…

Ralph ~ i actually would want to visit this place and check their cakes,,, see what all the fuss is about

This sort of thing happens to me ALL the time, I’m such a pushover, or as I like to call myself peacful lol.

That guy is a complete jerk, I hope you report him Mark.

I think there should be campaign against lousy customer service! Its so annoying that in so many places around here they don’t appreciate your business and think they are doing you a favor.. Let’s all boycott the place until you get a formal apology along with your cheese cake!

well .. if I were you, I might order the cake anyways. All I would have to do is sit a few minutes and as I’m being served I’d ask for the bill. Then I’d grab my cake, pop it in any plastic bag, get up before they bring the bill and I’d leave their change on the table with no tips too.

Talking about bad-mannered managers; did any one made a visit for HardRock Café lately?
They got new German manger that knows nothing about HardRock management but his real rude that I wish I can kick his ass.

Villa Moda’s cafe had THE best cheesecake, but alas, it is closed now (sniffle). I’m waiting for the Cheesecake Factory to open. Any news about when that is going to be? When is the hotel going to be done?

this ones nice… i cussed out the dooosh bag, i was at lorenzino the other day and wanted 2 order, in a polite manner said “low sama7t” “min fathlik” dooshbag eye contacts me and rolls his eye balls away, i got pissed and yelled at him, i told him take my order , he said the waiters r busy, i said NO u take my order, he did …. i didnt trust the food:P and left him a 20fills tip

talk about a stuck up lame ass,ur a fukin manager of a cafe, ur not a fukin business man

wow, that’s extremely upsetting for me to read. I’ve never had bad service in Kuwait, unless you count being inappropriately flirted with (especially creepy when they’re delivering food at 3 am). I’m a female Kuwaiti so that might sadly be a large factor in my positive experiences. Then again, I haven’t been there in three years so perhaps it’s gotten a lot worse. Either way, you should learn to be a bit more aggressive. Assertiveness = success, and tummy full of cheesecake. I totally would have thrown a fit, but then again I’m a brat and people would rather be nice than deal with my attitude.

hi.

I went to this place called chocolate bar @ Avenues. I ordered Chocolate caramel coffee (drink of the day)and my mom ordered coffee tiramisu and two cheese sandwiches. The caramel coffee was gud but the tiramisu sucks.. it came in a kehwa cup and a very small biscuit wid it. Its supposed to b a hot coffee but ws not hot at all!!!!!!!!. I complained to the waiter who went n told d manager. The manager ws nice n listened to our complain very patiently. In the end he didnt even charge for the tiramisu. Over all a gr8 experience..i wud recommend Chocolate bar to every1.

PS. for sum reason i dont knw, all d waiters came and asked us if we need to have water..which ws quite irritating..n we hav to say no 10-15 times..thats tooo much.. donno whether we luked thirsty…:)
