Mexican Cuisine in Kuwait!

This is a complete shocker. Turns out there is a Mexican catering place in Kuwait thats run by two Mexican women! All this time we’ve been complaining about the lack of good Mexican food in Kuwait and it turns out we had a place that specialized in home cooked traditional Mexican food. They’re called Sahuaro and they have a pretty decent website with their menu, prices and pictures of their dishes. I haven’t tried them but hopefully after Marzouq reads this post he will have them cater for us this coming Thursday (pretty please Marzouq). Here is a link to their website [Link]

Thanks K!

i thought mexican food in sydney was expensive…but this is just OUTRAGEOUS pricing!

theyre not even a proper outlet/franchise and theyre charging ridiculously.

Prices are fine. Roasted hammour dish, 12.5KD for 4-5 people. 1 dozen burritos for KD8. KD2.5 for bowls of rice or beans enough for 4-5 people.

Considering there are NO mexican restaurants in Kuwait, her pricing is competitive. A lot of time and effort is placed in every dish, in addition to sourcing ingredients from abroad. What about paying 15Kd for a steak at el gaucho?? Thats a rip off, but hey, ppl still go. Sooo, suhauro is priced well and the food is amazing. Try her rice drink called Horchata.

If you want cheap fake mexican tex food, go to chichis. BTW, chichis means t*ts in mexican spanish.

Still waiting for Taco Bell, we need cheap semi-“authentic” Mexican food first.
Saw one at Dubai Mall, so my guess we will see it here soon.

Taco Bell like McDonald’s is a junk food MUST in a country with an %80 Obesity rate!

ooooooh mexican! 7safa they only cater and don’t sell lunches and takeaway and stuff ๐Ÿ™

Chanzain yeheboon feeh il nass o kil min ye7eb il mexican! The only half decent place in Q8 is Chi Chis! O last time i was there it closed down supposedly for renovation but i didn’t check it they opened again!

There is an amazing mexican place in Dubai right next to the Central Perk cafe… the tortillas and nachos are home made and are simply amazing… chanzain they open up a branch in Q8 ๐Ÿ™

Real mexican food, definitelly not cheesy tex-mex. Try their delicious home-made ceviche, highly recommendable. The best has to be their pollo en mole, i though i did not like mole, until i tried theirs, better than in mexico.

I try Sahuaro food last year during my visit to Kuwait.

The tamales are to die for! I highly recommend the burritos and the salsas! all good! all fresh and no TEX-MEX!the real MacCoy!

If this picks up you will see dozens of dumb idiots ripping the hell out of this idea. I’m glad there is such a thing in Kuwait though.

WTF? Mexican food is cheap outside of Kuwait like falafel price here but why is so expensive iam not going to try it. Waaaaa3 :”(

Mexican food has to be expensive here because the ingredients are difficult to bring to Kuwait, I guess that’s one of the reasons a proper Mexican restaurant has not open in Kuwait yet. I can only imagine with all the costs plus a proper Mexican chef it must be so expensive. I really hope someone out there will open a proper Mexican restaurant but I can see already people conplaining about prices. I know Mexican food and I’d pay for it if I could eat those wonderful dishes…..tamales, ceviche, mole, birria among many many more mmmmmm delicious!!!

Falafel in Kuwait 100 fls but in USA 3.5 $ about 1 K.D. so don’t compare prices just enjoy the food at least better and more healthy than McDonaldโ€™s ,Burger king Chinese (oily).

I tried it .. Several times .. And I love it !! Its delicious! Both women are pure mexicans and so the food they make is real mexican food! You guys should check it out. ALL OF YOU! And try the tamales !! Mama mia

Can’t wait to try the tamales … hope they are as good as the usual South Texas fare ๐Ÿ™‚

Anything from Claudia is amazing.. haven’t tried her food, but she did tell me that she brings a lot of ingredients from Mexico.. so that must costly ๐Ÿ™‚

I had a Puerto Rican chef friend who lived in Kuwait – amazing cook – and took his concept of creating a Caribbean/Latin restaurant to the owners of a hotel chain. He presented the idea, a business plan, and discussed with one of their chefs. The outcome: They stole his concept plus several recipes and started the restaurant without his assistance. I think it lasted all of a year and none of the food was authentic.

I hope these ladies are more careful. There is never a good idea in Kuwait that someone won’t immediately try to replicate.

Thank you 2:48AM for your recommendation and for visiting our website, We also highly appreciate all your readers comments and suggestions and will try our best in every order! Muchas gracias y
Provecho!!!

Claudia y Narda

I had the chance of meeting Claudia and Narda, and they are both some of the nicest ladies out there. I tried Claudia’s home cooked food and it’s YUM!

I was fortunate enough to try Claudia’s home cooking and she’s amazing – i had seen these Sahuaro flyers but didn’t realize its her cooking in the background – in which case I highly recommend! my mouth is watering already! and for those complaining about the costs – go to TacoTime and get cheap money’s worth of mexican – in this case – worth every penny!

bu-jaij, Taco Bell has been in Riyadh for at least a dozen years…so the fact that it’s in Dubai may not mean much. Sorry!

I am one of many lucky people who had the chance to try Claudia’s food , and I honestly have to say one of the best meals I’ve ever had in my life without any exaggeration . I highly recommend this ๐Ÿ™‚

Ooh Mark, you should work out a deal to take some good photos of their products in return for free tamales ๐Ÿ˜€

As it were, I’m so lucky I have access to all that ethnic foodstuff and my own mexican MIL who taught me how to make all her best dishes ๐Ÿ™‚

That barbacoa dish (on the pic) looks very appetizing. I was stunned not a long ago, in Cancun, by a nice fine dining Mexican restaurant. Sadly, I did not write down the name, but it was pleasantly good.
