Looks like there is a new radio station launching for the Indian community in Kuwait called U FM. I called to find out when they will be launching but the person responsible wasn’t in yet so will be calling back again later. The station will be available on the 98.4 FM frequency and they already have a Facebook page up which you can check [Here]
Thanks Tijoe

LONG TIME OVERDUE, FINALLY. This is a large community in Kuwait and deserves their own radio station that caters to their community.
Indian and Malayalam.. division ftw? …..
If they are gonna play Malyalam at peak hours.. am gonna stick to my ipod !
@husayn: what if they are AR Rahman and Ilayaraja classics in Malayalam/Tamil?
haha .. wouldn’t mind then .. only IF they play classics 🙂
Good to hear.I tune in but only malayam songs. Can it be in Hindi also………..would love it.
hopefully they’ll make Linda an offer she can’t refuse..
98.7fm listener
No my fm transmitter frequency !:( bomber.
It’ll only be in Malayalam & not in Hindi. So it only for Keralites.
According to a reader on my blog they’re testing right now and will launch on 4th April. They also have a website https://984u.fm
as per there website
Malayalam FM in Kuwait under the Station ID 98.4 U FM (Always With You)
so hindi listeners bad bad luck.
yaay now i don’t have to my iPhone via Internet to India’s Radio Station. but please i have 1 request ! please keep Malayalam separate and Bollywood as a separate station because i don’t understand Malayalam…
Guys !!
Al thought I think Malayalam tracks are played mostly …. They played few of the Hindi hits and Tamil track over the weekend.
Umm.. What’s on 93.3 then?
Thank God finally we have something good to listen to.
Why this Kolaveri di? Why cant we have the stations like the ones in Dubai? Old Hindi songs of Kishore, Suresh, Etc?
Nyx…who is “suresh”
It’s a bit unfortunate Radio Kuwait still does not carry a Bollywood FM station given the immense popularity of Hindi music and Bollywood flicks in particular, among Kuwaiti women.
Hindi or Malayalam, I hope they are able to poach some fine RJs the likes of Raj King from Sunrise Radio in the UK or Manasi Scott from 94.3 FM in Mumbai, who is par excellence on the breakfast show. Alternatively, they should look to regional FM stations in the Emirates for a cue
They are also darn good at what they do!
If it’s going to be only Malayalam to hit the airwaves then we are already in for a bolus dose of Lulu hypermarket ads and stores in Abbasiya.
Neat- very neat!
This development was long due….keep it up guys..
Whether you like it or not, a Bangla FM radio service is in order with due consideration to the demographics in Kuwait today.
I am Indian and although I follow neither Malayalam, Tamil nor Bengali and yet I have a listen in to songs of all three languages. Don’t we all just so completely freak out on A R Rahman and Ilyaraja?! An hour or two of Rabindra Sangeet each weekday morning would be the cherry on the pudding, just to perk you up on your way in to work.
All you guys who are die hard aficianados of Hindi music wait until you’ve heard the Bengali ‘Ekla Chalo Re’ song. It will completely blow you away!
It has such mass appeal that you find youths from Altamount Road to Ashrafiyeh, Beirut and from Dallas to Dahiyat Abdalla Salem humming to this tune. Good on all of ’em!
Dear Friends,
98.4 U FM will have Malayalam,Hindi and Tamil programs and songs. Stay tuned for the first “INFOTAINMENT” radio station for Indians in Kuwait.Definitely a treasure hunt for Indians.Go U FM….We are with You….
