Office Depot Kuwait

Office Depot has finally opened at the Avenues and I am kind of disappointed. I expected the place to be much bigger and have more stuff but at the moment they have a little of everything which I guess is ok for a shopping mall branch. They really need to have a much bigger place if they want to compete with the likes of Mogahwi. On the bright side at least we have a new franchise in Kuwait.

Update: I got the following response from the Office Depot marketing team:

In the future, we will have stand alone stores that will be much bigger in size having a bigger range as well as smaller stores that will have a limited selection focusing on stationery and small office supplies. Our focus is on offering the customers all they need in one shop at competitive prices, good customer service & an excellent shopping experience. We started with the Avenues store mainly for individual consumers however we will service business clients for that store as well. Our future plan is to open business targeted stores as well & in 2010, we will also launch our catalogue that will have the full range of products from all categories.

im not expecting much, the original office depot in the US is overpriced, and is closing down branches on their home turf thats why they are trying to compensate by opening new branches overseas

Well opening an Office Depot in a mall will only drive prices up further. In the US they usually have stand alone buildings or are part of small shopping centers. In any case, Office Max is a much better store.

I hope they can rival Jareer’s high prices, shit customer support and slow restocking. In the last 5 years ive been going to Mogahwi for supplies, ive seen a single pen’s price rise from 300fils to 650fils. Anything should be better than the store we already have.

I still preffer Hawalli over this franchised crap. Why would anyone pay more, if the cheaper alternative is around the corner ?

Bang on BoBader.. this is the whole problem here.. most of the companies here seeing the recession are going more expensive.. because they think they can compensate for the losses they make.
Make it cheaper so that more consumers can buy your stuff! Period!

Was there, it is a good looking store and find some interesting offers, (toshiba camera for 49 kd), also i compared some prices with carrefour and Jarir it seems very attractive, i’m buying my children back to school there
also i noticed they have a new brand called nice day, very good prices and quality

Y’know what though, if it means always having products in stock I’ll take it. I stopped by Carrefour for a new ink cartridge and their shelves were almost bare. Went to Office Depot and boom! Found exactly what I needed.

Do you also print? If so, is there a way to figure what the cost would be if I sent you the information via email?
