Police crashing InfoConnect party

This video is of a couple who were dancing for some weird reason at the InfoConnect exhibition in February when a cop came in and took the guy away. Why was there loud music and dancing at an electronics fair?? [YouTube]

If they don’t want people to dance, then why they play loud music.
What’s the deffrence if they dance 3ardha?? mostly the police man will dance with them too.(offcource after he wear his Dishdashah)

The Ministry of Interior had a stand there with about 40 – 50 cops.. I don’t think it would be smart to dance with those guys around.. they most probably just told him off and thats about it..

I’m glad the officer put an end to this mockery. Get that trash out of here. Some people have no respect.

Its not a crime to dance, i mean ive never seen 6ershy i mean sher6y get so upset IN MY LIFE. I guess the fact that he is not kuwaity helped him to get into action cause he knows that thier masakeen and do things 3al niya. Bas believe me lo kuwaity hatha then that sher6y would be doing the robot right next to him 😀

A.f, the problem is that the guy was dancing with a woman. It’s considered an indecent thing to do in Kuwait and is unaccaptable in public regardless of who’s doing it.

Bla bla bla!!!! Everybody has an opinion, thing is nothing wrong wiht that, if it was in Dubai you would have been raving.

Dubai?

That’s what you guys keep thinking about?

I don’t know why Dubai seems like heaven to many expats living in Kuwait, not only do I hate that country, but I hate that word.

And yes, if they were dancing in “Dubai” too, someone would’ve stopped them. When you think of Dubai, you think of British, Indian, Lebanese, Egyptian expats like you, and forgetting the Emirati people, who are infact a religous society.

Some would say that the locals are even more religous that Kuwaitis. If a Lebanese, British, whatever dances in malls (Which by the way is the only thing that’s offered in Dubai), a policeman would beat his ass, because remember the Emiratis don’t really feel cozy to the expats that outnumber them.

What do you think this cop was going to do? Dance with him? We (Kuwaitis) live in a religous society, and its just not accepted, whether you agree or not, you may have your own views, but should respect our views, because you are a host here. In Lebanon or wherever, he can do whatever he wants, but should respect other people’s morals and values.

*This post is not targeted at anyone.

Hahah…..Monotheist back again splurting his crap.

Hey Mono, how’s the U.S Bars and Clubs treating you?

*Monotheist chose to leave restrictive Kuwait to enjoy the liberalism in the United States. Hypocrite.

At least Emaraties accept and look forward to change, as they all enjoy thier modern life. KAFEE we are now known as the past. WHICH is not a good thing

Exactly A.F….whilst the rest of the Gulf strides toward making their countries economic powerhouses, Kuwait, once the pearl of the Gulf, has been left in the dirt.

Who gives a damn if some fool wants to dance in the street? How does him dancing affect your life?

Hello there crocko rock :D,

I see you’re still obsessed with me and still insist on making things up regarding my presence in the US. Perhaps it’s your jealousy eating you up :p?

The fact that you think that there’s nothing for a person to do in the United States besides drinking and clubbing speaks very clearly about just how much you’ve managed to reduce your reason for existing. Even US citizens will laugh at you for thinking that. While you’re cursing “love street” in Kuwait as you relocate from one mall to another (or head back home to replenish your supply of hair gel), and as you spend the day fantasizing about how much drinking and clubbing you’re missing out on in the United States, some of us are out here hard at work perusing an advanced education, you know, in order to come back and be appointed in places of authority to save the country from you and your ilk.

As for your defending of this shameful act in defiance of our entire religious and cultural heritage, I ask you this: How would you like it if this man were to dance with your sister in that manner? If you wouldn’t like it at all, then don’t be a hypocrite. Otherwise, as the prophet (pbuh) said: “If you have no shame, do what you will” (ان لم تستح فاصنع ما شئت).

For God sake they were just fooling around, they were just having fun.
They were not dirty dancing, and the people were clapping and no one said nothing, until the stupid cop showed up.

I dont get it.

FOR GOS SAKE PEOPLE GROW UP. People in America, Europe, Russia, china, japan, Korea, Australia’s, around the world are developed except for ARABS. Seriously Seriously what do you guys want us to do shot ourselfs in boredom, you want another Afghanistan.

Yet another sad example of one’s religious laws being enforced upon others. I’m telling you.. were headed for a Taliban/saudi style state.
Complete clamp down on any other ideology except thier own. Including, i might add, a clamp down on other people’s opinions too.
Saudi arabia will soon allow women to drive, and it also has allowed the first catholic church to be built.. now it’s our turn to get more medevil, and go back into the dark ages, while the saudis are seeing the faults in their ways.
It’s a shame.

Hopefully with the new 5 constituency law, we will see less taliban style mp’s or even a better balance of power between archaic religious fanatic mp’s and democratic/liberal mp’s.
There is now alot more awareness in kuwait about the dangers that these Islamic extremist mp’s pose upon the freedom and liberties of kuwaiti. (We all witnessed the segregation law, and we all heard about the embarrassing attempt to cancel women’s political rights)

Stopping someone from dancing with a woman in a public place where families are shopping does not mean we are becoming a Taliban state. Its just common decency not to do so and whether you like it or not this is a country that has its traditions and this type of behaviour is unacceptable, if they really wanted to dance they can go home and do that.

However i do agree with you with what the “salafiyeen” are trying to do. They are moving to supress all other ways and enforce their own principles and ideas but only through parliament. This is why it is so important that we all should be VERY careful as to who we choose to vote for. If i choose to vote for a religiously conservative candidate and this candidate wins then i am only going to expect that he will demand a religious state and everything that comes with it.

We (Kuwaitis) live in a religious society !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is the funniest thing i ever heard
You can judge that in person you know well and there is a very big chance to miss.

you may point to some one any say He / She is religious But the Society i am sorry but i feel most of time that Kuwaitis are the least religious society in Gulf (Which is not necessary a bad thing but it is a fact)

If they wanna have fun let them go home and have fun, the guy was probably another typical attention idiot trying to impress the girls just look at his face when the cop stopped him the look was priceless.

And to everyone who got annoyed of the cop stopping the guy, just remember that other people have feelings and here in Kuwait we have traditions and religious believes that don’t allow this kind of act in public.

And to the Dubai worshipping expats here, please do us a favor and go live there, just remember that you still can’t drink, dance or have sex in public there too.

so to be a developed country you should let ppl dance in street!!!!?? I thought everybody hated mserat in hala feb!? and beside they were dancing in a public event, and they look like sales ppl to do any marketing event you need permeation from the event organizers. An event in your beloved Dubai means you need to request and have a permeation to do so,,,,, it is the law around the world, so if you calling for modernity and to live in a civil world you need to respect the law, even if it’s not enclosure with your personal idea. Or we would live in a jungle.

When u live in a country as a citizen or expat u must respect it’s laws and traditions.

To the people here who keep going on about the development of other countries whilst Kuwait is lagging behind, seriously, i mean are you honestly saying that because this guy was stopped for dancing with a woman in public is affecting the economic growth and political stability of Kuwait? Is affecting the industrial output of Kuwait? Is it interfering with the import and export of this country? My guess is NO. This matter is about religion, traditions and customs. Period.

You can take your argument about the country’s lack of development to the parliament i’m sure most of the Ali Baba’s there both MPs and Ministers will answer all your queries.

To the people who keep glorifying Dubai, i’ve studied there for 3 years and its a shithole.. its the centre of all things shitty (alcohol, drugs and prostitutes) and i can’t understand why people would view this as a sign of a country’s development based on what some people posted here.

Giirl:”so to be a developed country you should let ppl dance in street!!!!??”..
FIrstly no one linked dancing and development of kuwait together,,, you’re missing the point.
The point is that once you allow the religious ruling fanatics to tell you that one thing is not allowed because it is haram (weather it is or not is besides the point), then you’re allowing (or even opening the door to) the religious having a carte blanche in telling you everything is haram.. examples: woman not allowed to drive, or women not allowed to have political rights.. get the point??!?

Remember discos and alcohol were legal wants upon a time in kuwait.. just before the Islamic revolution of Iran influenced the whole region into a religious frenzy, or hysteria(if you like).

SO, if you you “girl” are ok with allowing the religious to ban innocent dancing at their discretion, then dont blame anyone except yourself when they will turn on you and take away your rights to drive or political rights etc…

By the way, if you watch “alwatan” tv station, you will notice really old kuwaiti video clips (in black and white), where women and men dance traditional kuwaiti dances… notice that these video clips haven’t seen the day of light on kuwait state television ever since the religious extremists took power in kuwait.

Now ask yourself, who will protect us against future religious lawmakers that would be crazier than the one’s already in power?
The concept of the dangers of the religious extremists is new to kuwait, there needs to be more awareness.

The same People who made a BIG fuss of why a cop prevent a couples from dancing on an exhibition that needs NO dancing …. they were bitching at there homes and praying that cops come and stop this in hala fabrayer inside car & street dancers !

i didn’t Imagen that the DABBKI dance could get you this Sympathy , and makes you a rebel with a cause !

Sfsa78:
I agree with what you’re trying to say. However, for radical changes to be made by the Islamists in our way of life (i.e: Banning women to drive, women losing their rights to vote, women not allowed to work after 8pm etc ..) they need to pass a law through parliament. They (Islamists) can’t just spring up and demand it. Therefore, Kuwait’s progress and in this case regress is in the hands of our trusted MP’s to propose the right laws and government to accpet or reject it. Therefore, too many Islamists : not good.

sfsa78, now who told you that Kuwait had disco’s, alcohol was banned way back in the late 60’s before even the disco years and It’s a fact that Kuwait had no disco’s ever maybe except for foreign workers in Ahmedi.

From early 70’s to 1980 hotels offered alcohol for non-muslim/arab residents so it’s not like people used to swim in a sea of alcoholic beverages, also for your information drinkers used to camp far from the city because any drunk person to enter the city would end up being arrested and punished accordingly and it was done according to islamic law so look it up ^_^.

And about those clips on “Alwatan”, back in those days they used to bring these women who’s profession is dancing and singing…it’s not like you can jump and dance with any girl back on those days, and most of these singer dancing girls are like gypsy’s from iraq and other countries.

And for your last question, the only way that will protect you from religious law makers is to know what’s right and what’s wrong, walk straight hurt no one and you are safe. Walking around breaking the law just for the fun of it then your asking for trouble.

Q8owarlock, The sheraton had a disco in the basement.. it was frequented by many kuwaitis.
The last time i checked, Sheraton is in downtown kuwait, not in ahmadi… you really absorbed all the propaganda haven’t you.

I just hate it whenever something happens by expats or lets say non-kuwaitis we get to hear things like “you should respect the country you live in and the community and bla and bla and if you want to do such thing then go do it in your country and not in kuwait”

Most of expacts and Arabs respect this country more than lot and lot of kuwaities unfortunatly!

Monthickest:

Pathetic, insignificant specks like yourself are easily rifled off and slain if it came to a factual debate. Sadly, you choose to hide behind the ‘banner of religion’ to validate your inflexible, incongruent arguments.

Your self-loathing, dogmatic opinions perfectly sum up your lonely existence on this planet and sadly reflect the exact reason why there are such negative connotations associated with Arabs worldwide.

You claim to be a ‘scholar,’ a ‘purist,’ yet had to run away to the United States to further develop your retardation.

Hopefully you never get the chance to return to Kuwait and spread your venomous poison, God knows this country has problems without you adding to the fire.

you know what the problem is in the Arab world itself, seriously as well Muslims, they are fucking hypocrites, for God sake, Kuwait doesn’t sell alcohol, have sex shops and so on. Yet, people travel outside and cause a problem. As well, there is corruption in Kuwait as well as people being extremely racist, and they say they are Muslims.
I cant believe a country in Kuwait which does not have a parliament and all the people in the government retired. All the stupid and radical islamist can kiss my ass. you don’t like people dancing don’t go there, you don’t like to drink don’t drink, no one forced you. Arabs are incompetent in ideology thinking as well as technological thinking, instead of going forward we are all going backwards. Whe the oil runs out or there will be a Substitute for oil, the Arabs are SCREWED OVER, cause they got nothing. ok,your saying you dont alcohol as well as clubing, ok give us the freedom to CREATE DEVELOP MAKE MOVIES, entertainment you dipshits. I CANT BELEIVE A COUNTRY WHICH HAS OIL AND NO FUKCING BRAINS to use it. FOR GOD SAKE PEOPLE LOOK AROUND THE WORLD where they are, and how we are.

and if your saying this country is ISLAMIC and we cant do this shit, look at SAUDI ARABIA Curr opted as shit, as well as many ARAB PEOPLE around the world are leaving the MIDDLE EAST cause they find it shit. WASTA, unequal rights, not enough payment to receive when you work. Then in the End we bring religion up, and no one knows it and just implements how does it.
oh yes to even add more the ULAMA or mosque people that do the prayer many stores and news that the police caught them having sex or rape a child, caught with a prostitutes, it happened in Kuwait, and around the world. So overall Arabs are Pathetic Hypocrites, and people will start to hate islam as well as arabs if they don’t fix them selfs.

Crocko Rock,

lol at “monothickest,” cute little kindergarten insult right there. So let’s take a look at all of the little things you’ve accused me of.

You claim that I’m easily slain in any debate. You certainly are yet to demonstrate that with all the history we have together. Well, here’s your chance to prove it. Just to show you how ignorant you are, I’m willing to debate you about any topic of your choosing within the field of religion and politics. Take your pick, homie :D.

“Your self-loathing, dogmatic opinions perfectly sum up your lonely existence on this planet and sadly reflect the exact reason why there are such negative connotations associated with Arabs worldwide.”

That’s just beautiful. What does that even mean? Did you just look up random words in the dictionary and thought you could string them into a sentence without actually knowing what it means? Which of my opinions do you find “self-loathing”? What lonely existence? And what “negative connotations associated with Arabs worldwide” am I responsible for? Arabs are associated with negative images because they’re poor, lacking education, disorganized and divided despite the countless ties they have to one another, and fail to industrialize despite having all the natural resources an entire continent could ask for.

Do you know why the Arabs are in this state? It came as a direct result of colonization and immediately after the defeat of the last Islamic State, the Ottoman Caliphate. So look at the entire history of Arabs, you’ll find that they’ve always been associated with negative images EXCEPT for one distinct period, and that’s the duration of the Islamic State. Arabs have always been backwards otherwise. What was the alternative to the Islamic State? Secular, nationalistic dictatorships and faux democracies. Did they succeed at bringing Arabs back to their golden age? Nope. Everyone can see how miserably they’ve failed.

I’ve never claimed to be a scholar, that was just another lie as usual. I’ve never “ran away” to anywhere; I’m simply here for my education. How is going abroad on a scholarship considered “running away”? But of course you didn’t mean that, you were just being spiteful. It’s understandable that you should utter incoherent nonsense when you let your emotions get a hold of you.

And rest assured I will be coming back very shortly (God Willing) since I’m in my senior year, but you still have enough time to pack up and leave before my arrival :D. Hurry up.

Woah…Really think of it in the most basic form. The dude was dancing with a girl, just a form or joyful expression. Nothing dirty, thus he no one should be reprimanded. This has nothing to do with morality. If they were grinding it up left right and center then it’s a different story.

Monothickest:

Ha ha. As per usual, a long winded prose full of utter, irrelevant nonsense.

“So look at the entire history of Arabs, you’ll find that they’ve always been associated with negative images EXCEPT for one distinct period, and that’s the duration of the Islamic State. Arabs have always been backwards otherwise.”

So, do explain, my dear, thick little friend, how the UAE has managed to break rank from this negative stigma and positioned itself as an ARABIC Country that is quickly gaining WORLD recognition as a center for engineering and innovative excellence.

Why did Abu Dhabi, the wealthiest of all Emirates (with a demography similar to Kuwait’s) invest hundreds of millions of dollars to open their own version of the Louvre?

Why are QATAR and BAHRAIN quickly following suit and gaining International acclaim for their ground breaking projects?

Why does MTC ZAIN, the most valuable commercial entity in the Middle East, have to relocate their headquarters from their mother country?

Kuwait rose from the desert and will crumble in the desert unless it wakes up and realizes that we no longer live in tents, that Islamic States are not self-sufficient methods to feed future generations.

Backward, non-progressive parasites like yourself – are the exact reason why Kuwait can never develop traction and why we have made ourselves the Political laughing stock of the Gulf.

Crocko rocko..

WELL SAID. You tell him!! 🙂
You tell that, short dishdasha wearing, backward thinking, Waleed Tabtabaie loving, beard scratching, salafist apologist, hypocrite where to go!!

to Monotheist

your still young man and unexperienced in this world, I work in the political sector and i am 22 years old, and your still telling me this crap about ISLAMIC STATE and shit, fucking filthy Arabs are hypocrites. your giving me crap about Kuwait being religious bullshit, I can tell you there is no discos and alcohols and so on, but Kuwait is in such corruption that you wouldn’t even believe it. Why do you think many Arabs leave the Middle East, not enough pay wage! WASTA. RACISM.
the day, I just cant wait until the day when the world announces there shall be a substitute for OIL, and the ARABS WILL BE FUCKED.
cause you know why, ARABS ARE IDIOTS, moron, hypocrites and thats the TRUTH. all this wealth yet stolen, and no UPGRADE, PATHETIC, i cant believe a country which has no PARLIAMENT AS WELL AS A GOVERNMENT IS UP AND RUNNING. Fuck the middle east, pathetic waste land. corrupted leaders, and stupid religous fanatics. People reached the moon and we are still complaining like morons.

Ha…..typical….put down a set of valid reasons for Monothickest to contest – and he crawls back under his rock.

The hypocrite is probably recovering from a hangover.

to Crocko Rock

I know just typical morons, you gave valid reasons, and i gave valid reasons, FUCK HIM, waste of time, giving it to an idiot named Monothickest
