Review: Fish Zinger

kfc fish zinger

Ever since I saw the ad for KFC’s Fish Zinger sandwich I thought to myself, why?? It didn’t make any sense, who would want to have a fish burger at KFC? Now since I needed content for my blog I figured what the heck, I would try it for lunch. Luckily for me it wasn’t that bad.

It tastes like chicken. No really it does, I think its because the spicy zinger overpowers the taste of the fish… which is a good thing because who wants to taste KFC’s version of the fish anyway. The sandwich is presented in its own customized over sized packaging which misleads you into thinking the Fish Zinger is huge, only once you open it you realize its not that big. The bun they use is pretty good (not the regular KFC bun) but its not as good as McDonalds fillet-o-fish bun which I rank as one of the prettiest looking buns ever.

The price of a Fish Zinger sandwich is KD1.000 and if you order it as a combo its KD1.500. I personally wouldn’t order it again but its really not as bad as I imagined it to be. I don’t know why they would suddenly introduce a fish burger to their menu, maybe they are thinking of launching a Kentucky Fried Fish in the future and they are just testing the waters? Whatever their reason might be I hope they stick to chicken. Final score is a 3 out of 5.

Some people are still paranoid about bird flu that’s why, same thing in burger king with their fish sandwich, lol

it is very obvious ..

they saw the HUGE problem of the bird flu coming on their way .. and if the problem got bigger .. their sales might drop to ZERO ..

So .. by the time they made a new production line for the fish .. and it hit the market .. the bird flu problem .. kind of went away ..

so .. what would they do with the money they spent on their Plan B .. they made the campaign anyway and introduced the alternative to chicken to save their business

if its birdflu related then why didn’t they quickly try to promote their colonel burger? why did burger king also just introduce a new fish sandwich also?

KFC in the U.S. has switched to cooking with healthier Oil. Did kuwait’s KFC change its cooking oil ? Just out of curiousity. Its not like I care. It wont make us thin anyway.

i think thats the best thing they ever did.. for many people like my self who can’t stand their chicken 🙂
good money maker.

…because some people like myself who don’t eat chicken end up going to KFC anyway because it’s a popular cheap lunch option with friends.

KFC in the US still suck…. oh how I miss the zinger from kaifan’s KFC, and MR. ALTAF (drive through guy) knowing my order everytime…..

Business predictions are that bird flu will reappear every summer.Last summer, Egypt’s KFC sales fell almost by half and the Gulf KFC’s by 20 – 25%. Therefore KFC international has come up with nonchicken products to offer alternatives.

The Colonel Burger has been around for a long time.It was a product, started many years back, by Americana locally, to beat a competitor called Jack in the Box; a burger concept that dared include fried chicken in their menu.Since the burger is not a KFC product its not advertised too much.

KFC in the gulf will move over to transfat free oil in a few months.

i liked it the first time i tried it last week but two days ago i had one and i nearly threw up the whole thing , it was cold and u could see water in the burger(melted ice) that tasted like raw fish, also the fish itself was BLACK it looked old or something, screw them..

I tried it..it tastes soo bad ya3ni i know its KFC but like comon it was horrible! i prefer Burger King’s hamour fillet or a fish fillet from mac donalds 🙂
