Review: Noodle Factory

noodle factory

Not going to spend to much time on this review since there isn’t much to talk about. I had lunch at the newly opened Noodle Factory in the Avenues and I really didn’t like it. Me and my friend ordered the following:

Cantonese Duck Roll (KD1.950)
Peking Fish Ravioli (KD2.250)
Malaysian Char Kuey Chow with Beef (KD2.900)
Kung Pao Chili Prawns (KD3.950)
Vegetable Rice (KD0.900)
Indonesian Nasi Goreng (KD2.500)
2 Pepsi (KD1.500)
7up (KD0.750)
—————
Total: KD16.700

Everything we had was bland and tasteless and there really wasn’t anything we ordered that I actually liked. The only thing that kept me going was the fact that I was planning on having a milkshake from D*lush when we were done.

Would I go back? No I won’t. Do I think it will be successful? No I don’t. Final score 2 out of 5. Two points because the location is good, waitress was friendly and the place is nicely designed.

I went to the Noodle Factory twice and everything I ordered was quite delicious. Do try their green chicken curry its very tast. I also liked the way you order food and the interiors of the place. The only thing I didn’t like was that I had to wait for more than an hour the second time I went.

Cajie: We are just doing our part to help raise Kuwait’s position in the Worlds Fatest Country ranking

sheika: Nats been there twice and ordered the prawn noodles and she liked it a lot also.

had i known u were going mark i would have told u not to. my wife & i had lunch there last week. we changd tables so we get a better view in the resturant since the decor is nice. yet still the seating was awkward.we had no napkins at our table, the sauce jars on the table were a little dirty looking, our spring rolls too long and thin and blah, my wife’s veggi noodles were ok but veggies cut too tiny and impossible to eat with chopsticks, yet my order ‘chicken carre cwith steamed rice was gooood,,, and they had a lemonade drink that is sooooooooooo yummy surpsisingly good! for a noodle ‘factory’ there aint much noodle choices especially for vegetarians like my wife. i pointed this out for thier manager who said wh didn you order some bens bo ilded in garlic sauce? she is a vegetarian not a goat! what made it worse was that child screaming his head off next table then using our table as a pivot to run around while chasing other children, i hated the fact that we had to click off our choices from our menu as if its a new hype and our girl waitress had a v, hair mustache with a crazy hairdo which is nice and too much makeup as if she was a waiter in a night club!v. strange!we asked if there were another branch they said yes in UK, malysia, lebanon???? searched online for UK branch to pay it a visit next time im there but didnt find it,,,, strange place with good lemonade

I found the way to order awkward to. We had three menus, one with some of the items and their pictures listed, one menu for the drinks and then that other sheet with the full list of items and where you are supposed to tick what you want to eat. They also wouldnt let us tick two separate sheets, me and my friend had to share one sheet so we took it in turns looking through it to see what to order. it was really weird like i have seen other places with the same idea but they were never this awkward and they were usually posh places with a menu made up of 5 items or less…

Then later when ordering an extra pepsi i wondered if there was a special form i had to fill for that, luckily turned out the waitress excepted verbal orders lol

yeah i rememberd that part were u had to share a menu and take turns viewing it! we had only two, the tick off thingy and the drinks and the tickoff thingy wasn’t that much informative to be frank… the place is nice and could have potential yet lel asaf il shadeed they need to change somethings fast or they will shut down! i for one im not going to go back just for good lemonade and garlic steamed beans!!!

Yet the lemonade, lemon with mint and something v. smooth in texture, was heartbreaking good… i think i might have it for take away… better turn it into a juice bar rather than a noodle factory…

the funniest thing was one Avenues first opened and I went to H&M to buy jeans. I wear size 36 but the size 36 they had was small on me. So i asked for size 38.. they told me the largest size they had was 36.

This is Kuwait, ranked as the 8th fattest country in the world, how could size 36 be the largest size they have available!? And their size 36 is even small then the usual 36!

I think its a Noodle House (Dubai) Knock-off, so no points for originality, but its all about the food, which now It seems it has mixed reviews. I have been eager to go but I’m not in the mood for crowded malls these days, I think the heat gives me enough headache. For AMAZING Thai food I would go to Oriental Cuisine behind the Diabetes Center in Sharq, it has 4 tables though with mostly Asian customers so you know its the real thing.

Do you think they lied to me when they said they are a global company with branches in UK, Lebanon, and malaysia??? i am searching the net for a mention of a noodle factory in the UK fruitlessly so please if anyone can find out where it is let me know? by the way the place is not Thai its indian over chinese over japanese i have my doubts its a q8y inventions since there are the usuals… Yeah by the way when i mentioned to the manager that if its possible to make the exact chicken curry dish wich was really good for my wife whilst swapping chicken with tofu -they have tufo soup on the menu- He totally ignored me as if i didnt just speak! Then he mentioned the green beans boiled in Garlic!!!! So im guessing their chefs cannot be creative enough to swap chicken for tofu or do not know how to cook tofu which aint that hard!!!!!

ooooh guys just give it some time .. people have diffrent taste in food thats why we have large co-op in every residential area and each of thousands of choices and diffrent branches so dont rush into conclusion .. i accutually liked it as well as my friends and i recommended it for bunch of others so it might success 😉 u`ll never know!

GirLOoO

Dirty Sauce jars and lack of napkins add to the louseness too… at least they had no hand in the children running, but they could have had better service. Just a positive note, the manager was kind enough to see what was wrong with the bawling child, i guess he had a headache too…

Maybe with time it will improve. Their chicken curry thing is good tasting and their lemonade… mmmmm im dying to know how did they get that smooth texture … i believe if i was drinking silk, it would taste the same…

For god’s sake what would you have for brunch over there? Chicken and rice? Noodles?

GirLoo… The hairy mustached waitress with two tons of crazy eyeliner on her eyes scared us every time she came over… The management could have told her to tone the craziness down a bit especially since all other waitresses and waiters were normal looking… More Lousy Points

Abdulaziz! When I walked by the Noodle Factory I was thinking this is a place to check out some time soon. I didnt want to go because every new place in Kuwait is crowded for the first few weeks.. but you keep talking about that lemonade you had there and now I want to go sooner! LOL

Also, Mark.. you talking about D*lush!! I really wanna find the time to go to the Avenues.. I wanna have my meal at Noodles and then a smoothie from D*lush on my way back home!! LOL

I went there about 2 weeks ago, I actually liked it very much! I dont remember what i ordered but I would definitely go there again!

Actually Im waiting for the Thai place in the avenues to open, something garden i think! Anyone know when thats supposed to happen?

I have been there 5 times already mainly because the food is fantastic and its always consistent.
Also value for money aint bad either. Same goes for dozens of friends who have been there too.

i think you should have a bit more of tolerance and give it another shot ! Thanks.(imagine the pressure on them for the 1st time)

i think their food is yummy…but u know what ive noticed for some reason the food tastes better during dinner time..i went there for lunch once and the food didnt taste as good as it did during dinner time..hmmm…weird i know

I tried the Pad Thai when i went… it was very good! But the whole experience was slightly dampened by the waiter spilling coke all over my friend’s new Prada bag. Ssoooo not cool!

And Mark – this is the real Gillian this time – lol!

Mark…the restaurant you asked me about that I said was probably one of the best is the one Equalizer is referring to behind the diabetes center. It really is tiny but it is great food and good service. Plus they’re fast so I go there when I only have time for a quick lunch break.

I wish i had just listened to what you said. I guess curiosity did kill the cat. THIS PLACE IS DEFINATLEY A HUNK A JUNK. Food, Service, Managment seriously …. BLEW. 🙂

if you want to have a supercalifragilisticexpialidociuos lunch and dinner, i can recommend the noodle factory,,, it was awesome, fantastic…the service and food is excellent,,,it was a fast dining and a new concept here in kuwait,,, it has also a choice of malaysian, chinese, indonesian and thai food!!! so guys,,, atout a”lheure!!!!!

I haven’t been to the noodle factory in dubai so i don’t know which one is better..but the food they serve in the avenues was great..i loved the dish named ‘stir fried noodles with chicken pepper fry’..simply awesome..the dragon cocktail and their service ain’t that bad either..the ambience is not that good expecially when the mall is crowded..also the waiters come n tell u their name ans also give us stupid suggestions with their wierd english n accent..also if the place is not that crowded the managers might come n ask unwanted questions like where do v stay, our occupation etc ..apart from all these i’ll give a 4/5 only for the quality of the food they serve ..

It had been almost 4 years since your visit, did you try it again?? To be honest it is one of my best chiness resturants now in kuwait.

I actually did go back a number of times after that and they are good. Not the best Chinese restaurant in Kuwait by far but definitely better than many others.

Hi there!

I went yesterday with my sister. We just came back from a holiday in Malaysia and I loved their local food so we were still in the “Noodles Mood” and we thought we might find something similar at the Noodles Factory. Well, I was a bit disappointed. We also had Malaysian Char Kuey Chow (but we ordered it with chicken instead of Beef) and as Mark mentions, it was very bland. We also ordered tom yam soup, (which I thought was just OK), steamed chicken dim sum (bland), spring rolls (which I couldn’t judge because they never showed up) and their AMAZING Lemon Fon Fon (which is the mint lemonade everyone is praising, it really does deserve it!).

Will I go again? Maybe. I like to give everything a second chance. So I might go but try different things and see.
